Nobody can replace the best rocker on the planet, the real-quo-boogie boys: Lancaster, Parfitt, Rossi & Coghlan. They made together the best Quo-music, they made Quo immortal...
American fan. [Yes I'm the one] Started with Hello! I saw then on the Quo tour. FANTASTIC!! I liked Rockin" All Over The World but the sound was getting thin. I could not find one good song on If You Can"t Stand The Heat album but bought a few more albums anyway. Alan to me was the heavvier song writer and was sorry when he left and that goes for John as well. I bought Heavy Traffic on disc and I liked it & have picked up some of the lesser albums as well.None of my friends really liked them .
This looks 70's but the Quo geeks R sayin' 1980, lovely plants in the studio, like Day of the fuckin' Triffids, watch out Alan! the plants R gonna strangle U !!
"Pre-end of the road is better than post-end of the road" Not sure about that. To my mind they started losing their direction in about 1980 and that continued irrespective of the lineup until 'Rock til you Drop' in 1992 (ish?) when they seemed to remember how to rock again (great version of 4500 times on that album btw!)
Must admit I think of Alan more in terms of his playing, than his songwriting. Quiet a few good ones up to 76', but then it went downhill; let's Ride, Stones, Big Man, ILR&R and that kind of stuff. I think he more or less dried up as a songwriter actually. As great as Alan were, Rhino and Quo are better now. Just the youth missing, but you can't fault the playing. So good it's almost uncanny at times...Makes shivers down my spine. I love both old and new, so I guess I'm lucky...
I heard that Alan's bass parts were re-recorded by Rick & Francis after he left the studio. Apparently McCartney did the same with some of Ringo's drum parts.
That's Francis Rossi again. He's unbelievably nasty toward Alan, who got on perfectly well with Rick Parfitt. Maybe that's what he resented. He tries to paint 'Francis and Rick' as a huge bromance, but Rick never really gave that impression.
got every Quo release since Ma Kellys incl HT, TPAOY, ISOTLC ..... sorry but with a few exceptions on "Traffic" they have become a parody of themselves ( recorded anyway ) agree live still kicking ass thank god
Absolute legend, R.I.P Alan

Q.E.P.D. ALAN🤗🌹
This is late 1980 as Alan says "Rick had a terrible tragedy this year". Which would be the tragic death of his daughter in the August of that year.
amen to that. Quo is: Rock, Alan, John and Francis.
This can't be 1984, because he mentions 'John' as living on the Isle of Man and Coghlan left in 81.

Having been dumped by Quo, he was described in a recent interview as "still the bitterest man in pop by some distance"
@goranquo you are so right mate!

Big Man's a fine tune - well sung for him, too!
Sounds like David St Hubbins !

Bollocks. You heard wrong.

Just Supposin' 1980

The Quo have aged, both musically and physically, like dead otters.
80Pimp
... and whatever happened to him? lol.
LONG LIVE FRANCIS AND RICK ;)
Well, he's death now. May he rest in peace. The core of Status Quo!
Haha have the same name
DxDiag a
Interviewer wasn't asking very professional or interesting questions. Seemed a little shifty to me.
How many clues do you need to know this is 1980?
