To me, Slaughter Beach, Dog is both complex and vague. It's like hearing a story from a cousin that you don't keep up with all that well. The lyrics seem so familiar and nostalgic, but they're talking about things and places you've never experienced. This album really solidifies that feeling with all of the spoken parts. No band or piece of music has really ever made me feel this way and it's amazing!
You've put their lyricism to words very well. Most songs are written to be intentionally vague so that the listener can feel their situation is being represented in the lyrics; and I feel like Slaughter Beach, Dog takes that concept and dials it up to 11, somehow touching those same feelings with much more nonsensical lyrics. And it works so well.
getting the tweet that the album was released during a rough shift, and playing the album as soon as i got in my car, and hearing this song play, the line "currently living and vain," the beat drop, the chills, and the huge smile that came across my face as i realised how good it was gonna be is a memory ill never forget, thank you slobodo
As soon as this album dropped, I rolled a j, went to the backyard, and listened to this song while tears dripped from my eyes and smoke poured out from my lungs. It was a beautiful night. When I walked back inside, my roommates asked what I was doing and I said "oh just chillin". They wouldn't get it, anyway. I wouldn't expect them to. Because what is there to really "get"? And the answer is, I don't know.
I remember hearing this song in a live performance video and thinking "This track is so charming, I cannot wait for it to be released". Now here we are, 2020 isn't all bad.
Slaughter beach, dog feels so close to me whenever I am feeling weird about life. The sound feels so strangely familiar. It gives the feeling of listening to your classmates playing music in a corner of class and you listen from distance but somehow relate to their common feeling. The melancholic neutrality of life.
When the notification for this album on bandcamp came up, it made my day. I had a huge stupid grin on my face. I love your work, it's unique and so beautiful.
Do You Understand showed up on my Spotify Release Radar at 2am Christmas Morning and I saw that it was part of an album and was dumbfounded. Perfect Christmas present.

I love and miss Modern Baseball, however Slaughter Beach Dog is not a replacement..... It's a fresh moment in a sea of used up moments. Bless you.
was riveted by the snowman being built and felt unadulterated joy at its destruction
The sax on this album is god damn amazing.
