X-Plane 11 Newbie 3 minute tutorial : How to load a flight plan using FMS file in default FMC

- New to X-Plane? Quick 3 min video on how to generate and load a flight plan using .fms file into the default FMC.
Steam users . You may have to create the "Output\FMS Plans" folder manually. It should be in
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\X-Plane 11\Output\FMS plans" or wherever you have selected your Steam root folder.

I was struggling to set up my flight plan just from arrival and departure page and then just modifying legs page. That didn't work properly most of the time. Once I found the website and entered my info it worked first try! THANK YOU SO MUCH LAD!

Is it enough, if I import this into my FMC after creating the .fms file of Simbrief and then click on EXEC, or do I have to seperat under DEP / ARR again the RW, STARS. Choose SIDS, etc., if I have already selected them when creating the flight plan in Simbrief, ie the runway from the departure airport and the destination airport?
Follow the video exactly and it will work. Some minimum entry is required.

how does this work on macos? i’ve done everything and put the fms file in the fmsplans folder and it doesn’t show on the fmc
is vnav also included in the fms file?

Hey I’m new at this game, how do I setup VNAV/AP with this flight plan?
go to the steam app data folder then look for common folder then hit x plane folder.. then output .. look and you will see the fmc folder then just add file ... should be good to go guys

What if it doesn’t show any fms file because I tried many different FPLs and none show fms it’s all .pdf and .pln
How are you generating the fms file? Simbrief? It has to be a text file with .fms extension in order to show up in FMS

I do exactly the same steps but I can´t find any routes in the fmc when I look under co route lists. There are no routes listed although those files exist in the original folder.

?? Bro the flight planner doesnt fly for you you have to rely on ATC for the coordinates,, and know your own flight plan so that you can set the autopilot to hold vectors

Hi and thank you in advance. I followed the video and I have X-plane 11 on my D:Steam\Steam\Games\X-Plane 11\Output\FMS Plans\EGCCLEAL01.fms … But when I am in X-Plane 11 on the FMC and I click on FPLN then ROUTE MENU then CO ROUTE LIST …. the file EGCCLEAL01.fms isn't showing like it is showing yours (it is just blank and only showing in the window.... CO ROUTE LIST 1/1 load plan load plan ) So it isn't loading the EGCCLEAL01.fms into the window on the FMS??? HELP PLEASE. Thank You.
You might be using Zibo 737 not the default 737? The procedures are different for that aircraft.
@@SimsSmith Hi Sims Smith. I have opened X-plane 11 and loaded the 737-800 (there was a 737-400 there as well as a few smaller planes so I don't know about any Zibo planes? I'm a bit of a novice at this but I am learning fast. So if you could explain it in laymans terms for me, thanks

I get no map when i create
i upload the fms files into a manually made FMS plans file. and when i go to the sim nothing shows up under co route list. please help
Quick check.
1) Have you created the "FMS plans" folder? For example "C:\X-Plane 11\Output\FMS plans" or in Steam it will be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\X-Plane 11\Output\FMS plans" .
2) You are using default 737 and not ZIbo? If Zibo the procedure is a bit different
3) Loaded the aircraft with "Start with engine running"
4) Load to airport KSFO
5) Save this sample fms file in your "FMS Plans" folder github.com/Simssmith/public-share/blob/master/x-plane/fms/ASFOLAX.fms or here it is copy from "I" all the way to "-118.407114" into note pad and save it as ASFOLAX.fms . Remember windows by default will put a .txt extension in the file. Remove the extension and it should only be .fms

6) Follow the exact procedure in the video and it worked for me just now using 11.50b14 version. If your AIRAC cycle is different there will be a warning but you can ignore it .

This is for X plane 11 not x plane 10
this is for xplane 11, requires a good computer. Xplane 10 is not that great and is quite outdated.

For ToLiss A321 you have to create the flight plan in simbrief and it will auto import it for you. Search for it in TH-cam.
Mine says that it’s a pdf or a fpl. What do I do? There is no where to click that says fmc. Also where the heck is an FMC folder? I’m new to X plane and just want to make a cool flight in the simplest way.

Correct see which version of AIRAC Cycle is being used. Way points are constantly added/deleted/updated every 3 months. I subscribe to navigraph.com to get latest to keep X-Plane and Simbrief in sync.
