Wait long enough and you have a solid chance of Playmobil picking up all your favourite, neglected licenses. Articulation can´t replace heart and that is what they deliver.
Imagination picks up what articulation leaves off. Playmobil sets are simply fun and offer many hours of imaginative play. I like the fact that despite articulations their figures can always use the vehicles and accessories. Horses have riders, so do their dragons, et. al. Articulated figures can't even get that right.
Have you already bought it yet? I hope you did... or else I will tell Playmobil. They listen everywhere. The deep state is run by Playmobil. So better buy it now!
Dude. I had Ghostbusters toys, a girlfriend in Canada, a hoverboard, a replica of Donatello's bo staff, and a working flux capacitor. But nobody ever believes me! 😭
To help qwell your fears on the rubber parts, I was a kid who had a small amount of Playmobil and all the rubber parts despite living in a loft that gets incredibly hot and incredibly cold, all of the rubber parts are as soft as the day I got them and incredibly durable. I don't know what rubber recipe they used, but our troops should be wearing it.
The same in Mexico. And actually lego was completely unknow here at that time. There was a block toys line called tente with smaller pieces that lego pretty simillar but no figures at all. You can build some small structures like ships and so.The first time I heard and seen from lego I was like dissapointed. The blocks are bigger than the tente´s and I was wondering why was so popular with big quotes. And still I like more the playmobil figures than the lego´s but it´s nice to se some buildings and popular structures of it.
I love Playmobil and their recent lines. I have all the Playmobil Ghostbusters figures except for the Ecto-1A and my RGB Ray figure is coming today. I may have to get the BTTF DeLorean and the Mystery Machine soon!
Michael... classic, total classic! Back in the early 80's when I was in military school, if I had a dollar for all the guys I knew who, "Had a girlfriend in Canada", I could retire.... And live off the interest. I even heard the line, "I would call her and let you talk to her to prove it, but they don't have phones in Canada."
Wow, 40 years! We’ve been at it for 20. I can imagine how impressive your collection must be! I’m looking forward to the Scooby collection. I have the van already.
I loved this, Michael. It brought back a lot of memories... memories of how we used to roast marshmallows by the fire at Camp Waconda. Fantastic content, as always!
1:34 - When I received my mail-away Emperor figure in late 1983, I noticed that the copyright stamp on the figure was 1984. For me, it was an interesting conversation piece.
I'm a little older than Michael, old enough that I had a job in 1984 and my own disposable income. If Ghostbusters toys existed in 1984 I promise you I would have owned them. Didn't happen.
As an avid Playmobil collector for over 20 years, I really enjoyed this video! I have the Ghostbuster collection and I’ve started the Scooby collection. I never saw Back to the Future, but I’ll probably collect the series. We’ve never had a rubber hose rot, and we have some really old sets. Lego faces can rub off, but Playmobil faces never rub off because they’re made from multiple layers of plastic. Of course my favorite character is Janine! 🤗
Yeah they had a toyline and even had a arm wrestling ring so kids could arm wrestle each other and a "playset" with two figures and a arm wrestling table to arm wrestle the toys! Canon films really did think this was going to be as big as rocky!
Agreed, there were things like storybooks, records and tapes of the soundtrack, buttons, things like that like Michael mentions, but that's really it. The cartoon I think had longer staying power because of it.
Technically in 1985, there were cancelled Ghostbusters figures made in Japan, however it was ‘85, not ‘84, but closer than ‘86. Ghostbusters News did an article about it.
I've watched this channel for probably 8 years and still get excited to see a new episode. Michael your no bullshit attitude is awesome. Keep up the great work.
Watching this I could imagine playing with these in my childhood home, where I'd set up, which pieces of furniture would be New York's buildings. What a great video and what great toys!
Just like you Micheal, I would’ve loved this Playmobil Ghostbusters the movie toyline as a child. My mother also took me and my sister to the movies growing up but because of the subject matter or the fact that my father knew Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd’s humor from SNL, he decided to just take me to go see Ghostbusters. We both were blown away by how fantastic the movie was. I remember that I would constantly look for Ghostbusters toys whenever I went to the toy store. It was a huge bummer! If we had those Playmobil toys growing up I definitely agree that it would’ve altered the course of 80s toy history. I’m just so happy that we finally have an amazing toy line that perfectly represents the 1984 Ghostbusters movie. It’s always better late than never!
You really hit it home for me! I just recently bought my first Playmobile set, Back to the Future, thought it was a bit preschool, than I watched the above video, you totally changed my mind on this company, they are awesome! I hope do Knight Rider next!
Great Video Michael! Being German and born in 1980, I had a lot of Playmobil toys along with Lego and MOTU. Always loved Playmobil. As soon as I saw their Ghostbusters line, I had to buy them all, second movie and Real Ghostbusters as well, the figures for Ghostbusters 2 and the real Ghostbusters are great and accurate as well. I also have the Back to the future line and I hope they do something like Goonies, the A-Team or Knight Rider next. Imagine K.I.T.T and K.A.R.R in this quality! Keep up the good work, love your content!
I somehow got some playmobil toys when I was a kid. I wasn't into them and quickly went back to my GIJOES. But I must say after watching this I really wish I had THESE Ghostbusters toys when I was a kid! Michael did a great job in this video!
Not much of an exaggeration! There are many so-called PROFESSIONALS in the toy and movie industry that don't seem as knowledgeable and insightful as Michael is! I even think Michael should have been some kind of an attorney! 😄 Because, like the examples he brought out, the people that always SWEAR that they had a certain toy, or saw a certain movie scene, etc.....conveniently NEVER have any proof to back up their claims! Whereas Michael does so much deep research, and has so much raw evidence that shuts them down, they should be embarrassed about their very lives! Hahahahaha
The whole playobil Ghostbusters line made for a great 2019 Christmas for my four and five year old boys! You are right, playmobil hit a homerun with the nostalgia and I loved building everything in the months before Christmas one set at a time (it saved me from having to build everything on Christmas day which would have turned Christmas into a work day, not a family day) Every detail is fun and perfect with the exception of slimed Peter...as for that glass jug, I think that is the jug Vinz/ Louis was drinking the water from when he smiled at Egon and Janine.
I had no idea Playmobil managed to get us such a wide selection of Ghosbuters toys and that they’re so perfect. I just bought an Ecto-1 and can’t wait to play with it.
Hasbro: "Vehicles and playsets are too expensive and not sellable." Toy collectors, action figure photographers and toy customizers: makes dioramas of settings and modify cheap toy vehicles for their figures and displays.
Probably said before, but I was more of a GB2 fan all my life, and that said I always wanted a screen accurate Ecto-1A. Kenners version was a disgrace and shame. Playmobil did it. After all these years. Get the set and review it and love it! Even the fancy lights are 1:1 as they were in the movie.
Looking back, I see that Playmobil would have caught my attention much better if they had done licensing. The sets I always saw was things like the cavalry for or the pirate ship. Little Me considered them toys for younger kids. Now? The quality shines through to my older eyes.
As someone who Ghostbusters has been a huge part of my life since 1984, I remember the aggravation of no movie based toys. I loved the Real Ghostbusters cartoons and toys, but would have loved some movie based toys back then
I got my 7 year old the Playmobil Ecto 1 for Christmas when it came out originally. Still one of his most cherished toys and favourite films. Keep up the great work Michael. Always knocking it out of the park.
Playmobile ghostbusters has a great mobile app that has one huge flaw and that is that you have to watch a 2 minute unskippable add for the movie made in the playmates art style
Interest retrospective, well articulated and informative. I, sir am impressed. By the way, I had all the figures in '84, my girlfriend in Canada has them though.
My nephews, who are turning 6 this year, have been obsessed with Ghostbusters since they watched the movie 2 years ago. As soon as I saw this line of toys at the mall, I bought the whole set. And after watching this video, I think I made the right choice.
I loved my Ecto-1 as a kid, I remember buying it from Toys R Us with my birthday money. You were able to fit all four Ghostbusters into it if you angled them right and if you were careful, could also fit the proton packs although, it was a bit messy and involved some fearless bending of the proton streams. I too was somewhat disappointed by the dimensions of the firestation. I always wondered if you could cannibalise two sets to make one large playset, alaso adding furniture from other toy lines. The Simpsons sofa and TV set worked well in there. You are right, these sets would've been perfect as a kid, I do remember there being a time period between when the show aired and when the toy line hit the shelves, at least in the UK and as a kid, that took forever. I had to make do with some wooden brick toys and a heck of a lot of imagination!
The only memory I have of playing with toys from playmobil were the ones from the hospital set at my kindergarten. I saw the Ghostbusters toys in the store and was amazed at how much they captured from the film. Shows that some companies cares about making quality toys. As always it's great to see your awesome content, keep up the good work and have a great weekend! 😁👍
I had the same thoughts when I found these sets at Toysrus. So happy to see you enjoy them! Leaves me hopeful that the new film will have Playmobil toys!!
I think there was a lack of Ghostbuster's toys based on the movie, due to the fact that it wasn't originally meant to be a kids film. Now, obviously there where other toy lines ( such as 'Over the Top) which where produced despite the film not being aimed at kids, but I think that Ghostbusters just slipped through the net, and for that reason, but I could be wrong. Great content as always, and great to see Playmobil getting a shout out. Me and my brother as kids absolutely loved Playmobil! Great memories.
Even as a kid I never cared for Playmobil, largely because of the figures size and expressions, I always enjoyed the larger figures such as The Real Ghostbusters, TMNT and the even larger Thundercats. Just like you I remember the first time I saw the movie as a kid, and the unforgettable impression it made on me, I am a proud 80’s kid who’s now an adult passionate about nostalgia and the things that made me happy as a boy. This Firehouse and the Ecto-1 are my first ever Playmobil toys, and I not only had a great time assembling them, but I can appreciate the beautiful quality and attention to detail the folks at Playmobil put into this, both pieces are in display in a special place (minus the figures), and I couldn’t love them more, I think they really are an amazing addition to any Ghostbusters fan out there. Too bad I don’t have any kids of my own to play with. I really enjoyed your video and your enthusiasm about the subject, all the very best!
I had a few Playmobil toys as a child. My cousin had a ton of them and we always had a blast playing with the bases and action figures. I can't figure out why I didn't have more Playmobil. Every time I picked one up, I had a great time.
I had a Brio train set and Playmobil toys as a child. They were my pre-action figure toys from age 3 or 4, right before Star Wars and Masters of the Universe took over my interests. Both Brio and Playmobil were really play-centric and allowed for fond memories I still have nearly 40 years later. I am really impressed with their newer offerings and I am just so happy to see actual toys from these properties that real kids might actually play with. Marvel Legends and Star Wars black series figures just aren't for kids, in my opinion, and seeing my favorite franchises live on with another generation actually being able to play with the toys is absolutely awesome.
This is one of the best reviews I’ve seen in a while Michael, great job, very thorough. I appreciate all the attention to detail and comparison of toy lines.
I bought my kids all the Playmobil Ghostbusters sets and most recently the Back To The Future set too. They love them and watch the movies all the time. They are so excited (along with me) to see the new movie.
I got my Ghostbusters-obsessed 5-year-old niece all the Playmobil Ghostbusters sets. She absolutely loves them. Just need to track down some terror dogs now. She also owns the Hasbro role-play Ghostbusters toys, and loves them too. It's fantastic to see her enthusiastically blasting ghosts, and she always wants to play Ghostbusters on PS4 with me.
I created a basement level for the firehouse that has the Ecto Containment Unit and a lab for Egon using different play sets and pieces I bought either in stores or online. For the first level, I recreated Venkman's office using various rail pieces I found and a table and chairs. Janine's desk goes right in front and the Ecto-1 where it should be. Using a kitchen set, a school food stand set and a living room set, I decorated the second and third levels to give it a more home-y feel. Of course for the holidays I have a decorated Christmas tree and gifts I bought from Michael's and set up with string lights that weave in and out of the windows. I bought a second, incomplete Firehouse set to expand into and kept it up for a bit before deciding to leave it for my GB2 figures. I bought 4 Santa figures JUST for their hats to recreate the Christmas sequence in the second film.
Great review! I think Hasbro and Mattel made the big mistake of focus on collectors instead of kids and collectors: they make action figures so big that they can't make playsets, vehicles in order to create, what you call, a world. Playmobil was all about creating a complete experience.
I have a lot of sentimental feelings towards these toys. When my son was three he began a random obsession with everything ghostbusters, and it was probably about six months after they launched this set. He played with all of it for years. There’s still pieces of it all over my house.
AWESOME! Playmobile has ALWAYS hit it out of the park with their unique figures and playsets! It's really a joy to see them dive into franchises like movies and television shows with their trademark attention to the little details that made these toys amazing! I've been playing with Playmobil toys since the late 70s. I loved them then, I love them now. Soooooo...of to Walmart for NEW Playmobil toys!
It was fun to me buying a lot of Playmobil Ghostbusters toys in a local store here in germany for my 5 year old daugther. She is a Ghostbusters fan and can't wait for the new movie. I'm happy that you you made a video of Playmobil toys.
I am in love with these toys!!! Thank you so much for this in-depth and wonderful review!!! If I could afford it and had the space I would want the entire collection, I bet it would be awesome to play with these toys with the Transformers Ectotron, another recent toy I've drooled over. I had Playmobil toys as a kid, though I never asked for them but we're given to me as gifts. This line has ALWAYS been big on intricate detail with their toys. I had the Playmobil pirate ship, my mom put it together and it was such a beautiful toy. The canvas sails, the rigging the figures could climb and hold on to, the crows nest, flags, cannons that were on wheels so you could move them to different placement points on the ship, cannon balls with crates to hold them, the bridge deck with the steering wheel and the captain's cabin beneath which could be accessed by a working door or you could just take off the bridge deck which was the cabin's roof. The ship had a hold which was accessed by a large grated door on the main deck that swung up. The hold was pretty much the entire inside of the ship. There was a solid silver plated metal bar placed in it, I suppose for balance and weight, and that had weight! Maybe a few pounds. It was wide as a ruler and almost as long. The figures were pirate themed, eye patches, peg legs, swords, flintlock pistols, and of course treasure with gold inside and also loose gold coins (which I pretty much lost all of in less than a day). I'd be playing with the Killer Whale or USS Flag and imagine it had taken on damage in a battle then along comes this pirate ship that the joes would commandeer to go after Cobra. Didn't really matter if the joes were a bit too big scale-wise. The other Playmobil toy I had was the flying saucer spaceship, I'm happy to say that I actually still have this toy, if not any of the figures and many accessories are missing. The toy still looks great. With 3 retractable landing gear stands, on two sides were doors that open and become ramps with steps and the entrances even had airlocks. Sleeping areas, pilot consoles, a center command stand on a swivel. Semi translucent blue tinted plastic windows all around and over the entire thing a domed top also blue tinted and semi translucent plastic, with a large antenna array in the center. The top was easily removed for complete access to the inside but snapped.back on nice and secure. So I never asked for these toys but they sure gave me hours and hours and hours of great play, fun, and memories.
As a child in the mid-to-late-1990s and early-2000s, I had a lot of BRIO train sets even though most of it were based on characters from the Thomas the Tank Engine TV series and Playmobil stuff which was mostly the Wild West and still my absolute favourite. So, I had either of them and I still have fond memories of them to this day. I just thought I'd share my memories with you and everyone here, Michael. Coincidentally, I happen to have the same birthname as you.
I was fortunate, I guess. I got into GI Joe as Star Wars fizzled out. Not long after that, I had a go-cart and took up fishing and hunting. I quit with toys about the time Back to the Future and Ghost Busters came out. But, as you can tell by my subscription, I love that time frame and the memories and content of your channel. These toys knocked it out the park.
I loved playing with my Real Ghostbusters toys. I made it work, but I still remember frustration at the very shortcomings Michael brings up in the video. But like the pier 34 dock supervisor said, "Well, better late than never."
If the line proves successful, Playmobil could produce an add on piece to the first floor extending it out further. That would enable the inclusions of a reception desk and Venkman's office.
They really hit it out of the park with this set. I got a set of the four basic figures when I first seen them, but never seen anything else, except the toon variants in online promos. Thanks again!
Great Video. I kept seeing people post things about growing up with Ghostbusters toys too, but there wasn't anything - I remember the week it came out, even the cassette was hard to find. I remember calling the record store at the mall, hoping they would have the thing in stock. It's the first cassette I can recall that was in a red case. I recall bootlegged T-Shirts being sold, because there simply wasn't enough stuff to go around. We had the Different Strokes Episode that aired.. I think I found a button of the ghost symbol at the mall. I bought the Ghostbusters vehicle based on this review. I had purchased the Delorean, hope to see a review on those toys soon. Thanks! Keep up the good work.
That's what I remember too, Playmobil only ever existed on the shelves of toy stores. i was a Lego Space kid back then. But this is amazing! One of the best toys of one of the best movies ever. Man, 8-year old me is exited right now! Might have to reconsider some future Lego purchases lol
I always think play móvil have Great play set. Every single minute of this video is gold, the attention to detail is amazing. Thanks for doing videos like this.
Great video Michael! The timing was quite coincidental as I was just making a little Ghostbusters video myself, this evening. I am very impressed with this playset and especially the Ecto-1. I need that car!!! I didn't realize these started coming out in 2017, I've seen Playmobil Ghostbusters in stores recently and thought they were brand new. I'd have definitely bought this stuff back in 84. As it was, all I had was the soundtrack LP. What a fun looking set, glad you made this video so I can enjoy these toys vicariously, as I have neither the money nor the room for em!
Although I too would love to get Playsets for my Marvel Legends more than anything the difference is scale and product. Playmobile sells sets with much smaller figures. It would be a very different beast to have a play set for Hasbro's new Ghostbusters line. With that said boy would it be awesome.
Playmobil was a lot more basic (although still great fun) in 1984 and the original owner of the company would never have allowed movie tie-ins but these toys are beautiful. Great to see Playmobil getting the attention the toys deserve. The quality, design and playability are all there but I guess other brands are trendier with kids.
Nice ghostbuster memories... My most memorable ghostbuster moment was me impersonating the whole Ray Parker jr. Ghostbusters videoclip, dancing and 'being scared out' by ghosts while listening to the song on my cassette deck. I waned myself alone in my room, but at the end of the song my brother appeared sneaking from behind the door... laughing, saying it looked rediculous.
My impression is that Hasbro almost totally gave up on vehicles because they have way less parts that can be reused for multiple molds compared to figures. It must have been an attractive proposal for investors, but not a good thing for profits in general considering how important the vehicles were in the eighties. It didn't exactly help that their commitment to 6 inch scale figures is not ideal at all for any surrounding accessories or play set; they are simply too big. They really should have limited the 6 inch scales to "hall of fame characters" while having a big traditional line for everything else. As it stands thing are going in reverse with things like the SW Vintage Collection which are somewhat a very limited collector line instead of the mass market products they should have been.
Who had June 2020 when Mike finally finds a toy made in the 21st century that he more or less enjoys...i know I didn't lol. We really are in the end times now lol
That skit at the end is perfection! Kudos! And 100% there were no Ghostbusters toys in 1984. I had to resort to making myself a proton pack and wand from a cardboard box and an old toy gun that was attached to it by an old dressing gown belt!
Playmobil always had great attention to detail and quality. I had a lot of fun playing with the 80's Castle set #3450. ( among other toys).Thank you for making another great video. I am looking forward to getting the Playmobil Back to the Future sets.
I had playmobile growing up. It was my dad‘s from the 70s and early 80s always had great times with them and then they expanded into Pirates and stuff I could not get enough playtime with my playmobile.
Their 80's movie franchise toys are UH. MAY. ZING. The Ghostbusters set marked the beginning of me collecting playmobil. And their Scooby Doo line is fantastic, too.
Wow, those sets are so detailed and functional! One of my good friends as a kid had a few Playmobile sets and I always loved them. I remember cowboys and "Indians", and knights.
It's wonderful to see a fully realized toyline again, and Playmobil obviously cares for the source material. I've got the Ecto-1 and DeLorean, and they are really impressive. I think I need to get more Ghostbusters sets now! Great video.
It's a choice between detailed, accurate looking figures with no playset or a nice playset with junk looking figures. For me personally the characters are more important than the building and car so I go with accurately, nice detailed 6 inch figures rather than a playmobil playset with terrible little figures of the characters that all look the same.
Hello, My name is Samuel and I had Brio trains, Playmobil (?) and Lego toys as a kid. The majority of those where bought while my parents where in Germany in the early 80's. Apparently they where cheaper to buyy over there in the 80's. When we came back to the states in 84 I started getting Transformers, G.I.Joe's and random other toy lines. The Brio and Playmobil sets got passed on to my younger siblings (Four sisters and Three brothers in that order) but I kept those Lego sets as long as I could. A recent clean out of my dads place located several of those Lego sets. To the delight of my sisters kids who took them home before they could get ahold of me and ask if I wanted to keep them.
I’ll have you know SIR! I had Ghostbusters toys in 1984. They left with my ORIGINAL Back to the Future toys TO THE FUTURE and will be back 1 minute from now 🧐 Thanks for the review. I’ve been able to play with them because my 5 year old twin nephews have them. I only go to my brother house to play with their toys. Nice hair 😉
Playmobil has always been one of the best and most underrated toy lines in the world.
I've always been a lego collector myself but I have nothing but respect for the quality and ingenuity that Playmobil brings to their products.
underrated probably cause it was way more expensive than Lego.
Very popular in France. And the rest of Western Europe I think.
It was me. I was the kid who played with Playmobil.
Playmobil was almost as big as lego in Europe in the 80's
Me too.
Wait long enough and you have a solid chance of Playmobil picking up all your favourite, neglected licenses. Articulation can´t replace heart and that is what they deliver.

Holy cow! That headquarters has......stairs and the ecto one seats 4 figures. Leave it to playmobil to run circles around everyone else!
It was the Ecto-1's lights & siren that floored me...I spent soo much time trying to fix christmas lights into my RGB Ecto-1 as a kid, to no avail.
I ended up buying all the GB playmobil toys over the last 3 months. And the Back to the Future line.
*cough* Lego
Playmobil is still family owned and based in Germany...
@@lunarmodule6419 No, her name was Catherine O'Hara. 😃
Did you also have an uncle that worked for Nintendo and knew all the cheat codes?
@@ErwalDeeas Actually, my uncle invented the Game Genie.
@@ErwalDeeas LMAO THIS !!!!!
@Spic Olé Man, I wish that existed... Transformers is my jam.

Haha... it’s from Germany. German rubber...
Here in Brazil every kid had Playmobil during the 80s. I still have most of the ones I owned as a kit.
Same In Argentina! I guess Playmobil had a massive Latin American market presence and distribution, I don't remember any Lego in the 80's here.
The same in Mexico. And actually lego was completely unknow here at that time. There was a block toys line called tente with smaller pieces that lego pretty simillar but no figures at all. same in Greece during the 80s/ 90s Playmobil was huge
Playmobil have been doing incredible things lately.
I love Playmobil and their recent lines. I have all the Playmobil Ghostbusters figures except for the Ecto-1A and my RGB Ray figure is coming today. I may have to get the BTTF DeLorean and the Mystery Machine soon!
Apart from make a goid movie 😉
@Sean Lugo eeyep
I know
I collect a bunch of lego star wars and i kinda got bored of sci fi, and the Novelmore series of sets are really good
Michael... classic, total classic! Back in the early 80's when I was in military school, if I had a dollar for all the guys I knew who, "Had a girlfriend in Canada", I could retire.... And live off the interest. I even heard the line, "I would call her and let you talk to her to prove it, but they don't have phones in Canada."
Well, sure, Canada delivers messages by dogsled. No need for phones!
If you don´t intentionally snap the rubber by force, it´ll hold for decades. I can tell you that as someone who owns Playmobil from 40+ years :-)
Wow, 40 years! We’ve been at it for 20. I can imagine how impressive your collection must be! I’m looking forward to the Scooby collection. I have the van already.
That's quite a relief! I plan on making photography sets with my collection!
I loved this, Michael. It brought back a lot of memories... memories of how we used to roast marshmallows by the fire at Camp Waconda. Fantastic content, as always!

Right... the only thing me and my friends could ever find were knock off t-shirts with the Ghostbusters logo on the front.
I saw WB HeMan around 1984-86 so i knew for yrs its real
Sylvanian animals were nice
I was the general manager of a Best catalog store and we would have carried them for sure.. And I would still have them as I love old toys!
Thanks for sharing!
Playmobil is making some great stuff! And Retroblasting is making the best videos!
Never wanted anything Playmobil before. This video makes it VERY tempting to delve into it!
imagine a thundercat playmobil set !!!
You won’t regret it
Buy it! You want it. You need it! You love it!
Maybe i do Pick up the kitt form playmobil
Wow...I didn't know that Over The Top had toys...lol...learn something new ALL the time on Retroblasting ;)
I have that Stallone figure it has an awesome arm wrestling action feature lol
Yeah they had a toyline and even had a arm wrestling ring so kids could arm wrestle each other and a "playset" with two figures and a arm wrestling table to arm wrestle the toys! Canon films really did think this was going to be as big as rocky!
I have a lot of Playmobil which is around +20 years old and the rubber is still good so i dont think you need to worry
Michael your content is always professionally put together well written and expressed with real and relatable passion. I love these retrospectives.
I appreciate that!
Who the heck seriously thinks and DEFENDS there were original movie Ghostbusters figures in 84?! LOL
I was shocked that is even a thing, and that it would require Michael to rebuff it for several minutes.
Agreed, there were things like storybooks, records and tapes of the soundtrack, buttons, things like that like Michael mentions, but that's really it. The cartoon I think had longer staying power because of it.

Heck, my grandma used to spin yarns about a spectral 1984 Ghostbusters toy line.
Them: YOU have a girlfriend? *laughs*. Me: yeah, but you wouldn’t know her. She goes to a different country.
I somehow got some playmobil toys when I was a kid. I wasn't into them and quickly went back to my GIJOES. But I must say after watching this I really wish I had THESE Ghostbusters toys when I was a kid! Michael did a great job in this video!
I know it’s not your normal content, but I loved this look at Playmobil. You should review the Back to the Future set also.
I'm already working on it.
Mike i thought that your knowledge was in another lever, but i was wrong... It's on another planet!!!
The glass container in Egon’s lab is the coffee pot that Janine gets for Louis. “Yes, have some.”
Have some...
Hasbro: "Vehicles and playsets are too expensive and not sellable."
Toy collectors, action figure photographers and toy customizers: makes dioramas of settings and modify cheap toy vehicles for their figures and displays.
I bought the entire series of these for my son, he loves them and my original firehouse pales to this set.
Damn son! Out of the park with this one! The Hasbro line is trounced by Playmobil!
Wow, Over The Top is one of my fave movie as a kid. I would have bought that toyline if I only knew about it and played "finger-wrestling" with it.
A really great video! I've had the Playmobil Ecto-1A for a few months now and I really need to buy the rest of the series ASAP!
Sooooo good!!!
Made my Friday!!! Have a great weekend crew!!
14:43 Dr. Eleanor Twitty aka the 'Library Ghost' is captured in Ghostbusters the Video Game.
Playmobil also offer the option of buying all parts / accessories on their website individually.
They are so excited (along with me) to see the new movie.
in Brazil playmobil were WAY more popular than lego, at least in the 80´s and 90´s
Aww, too bad about only one Winston variant. He’s my favorite character.
Yep I remember being frustrated too that they only had the cartoon versions. Love your channel brings back so many memories
I'm glad you finally found a Ghostbusters firehouse playset that you enjoy more than the "Tower of Boredom" from Kenner!
Its unbelievable how you linked this video with the bank holiday video, its hilarious and brilliant at the same time.
This video alone convinced me to scoop up this line. This is exactly what younger tinier me wanted growing up. Great recommendation!
Never really been into playmobil, but you may have changed my mind.
👏🙏 Last Christmas I was in a grocery store in Germany when I came upon these for the very first time. I was blown away...
Playmobil never disappoints, period.
@@timothyward8695 apparently the joke flew right over your head...lol
That skit at the end is perfection! Kudos! And 100% there were no Ghostbusters toys in 1984. I had to resort to making myself a proton pack and wand from a cardboard box and an old toy gun that was attached to it by an old dressing gown belt!
Playmobil always had great attention to detail and quality. I had a lot of fun playing with the 80's Castle set #3450. ( among other toys).Thank you for making another great video. I am looking forward to getting the Playmobil Back to the Future sets.
You've said it before - "The Playmobil are doing the best work".
No, wait. That doesn't seem right. ;P
Great review. Playmobil really smashed it out the park with this range of toys. I do wish they would keep going with it and expand it further
I’ll have you know SIR! I had Ghostbusters toys in 1984. They left with my ORIGINAL Back to the Future toys TO THE FUTURE and will be back 1 minute from now 🧐
Thanks for the review. I’ve been able to play with them because my 5 year old twin nephews have them. I only go to my brother house to play with their toys.
Nice hair 😉
