What an utterly perfect depiction of Fjord’s path from a naive herald of Uk’otoa, to his eventual breaking free and embracing the Wildmother, to his final confrontation with Avantika. The Mighty Nein is his ship… and he IS the captain. And every captain fights for his crew.

It's about self-doubt, putting barriers and building a facade you project to the world to protect yourself. It's about recognizing you trapped yourself in a vicious pattern and trying to act on it. And best of all, it uses a neat maritime metaphor for the whole thing. You'd write a song specifically about Fjord, you couldn't do better.
