If they give the Lion the Deathwing keyword ( which honestly I belive they will do now) that means you could deepstrike the Lion and get a 7 inch charge off... Lion gets -1 to woumd back with the stratagem ? Great ! Overall this would be fking awesome
I think there's a good amount of potential for this detachment. Stratagems like Illuminating Fire could work against beefier targets that you absolutely need to kill - using something like a Dreadnought, LRR, Repulsor Executioner, or even Azrael + Hellblasters to benefit from the +1 to wound. Could also get more mileage out of the stratagem by using a storm speeder like the Hammerstrike to strip cover as well, or a Thunderstrike to hit two targets for two debuffed enemy units (using it's ability + the stratagem). I quite like the fact that this detachment doesn't have those limiting restrictions that the Inner Circle Task Force has where only the Deathwing infantry units mostly get the benefits of the detachment. I think having something like 3 Invader ATVs running around being the utility pieces for any type of Deathwing units would be a good staple, as they're only 60pts each! I also quite like the idea of a something like a Brutalis dreadnought having +2 to charge, or utilising the Inescapable Wrath stratagem too. The Overpowering Exaction stratagem also has some nice use, as it's able to be used in your opponent's command phase, and I'm wondering if this can stack with things like Asmodai's -1 to the Leadership test? All in all - I'm excited to try out some lists for this detachment! :D
Only diasapointed that Lion didnt get anything. The detachment actually looks great, it took some time to read through it, but there is a lot in there. Not as good as Gladius, but for anything other than tournament its great !
Nope. Gladius is still it. To take advantage of this detachment's core strengths you need to spend a boatload of points for middling benefit. It can be fun though. For example a stormraven blasting through terrain dropping off brutalis and Deathwing in the enemies face sounds pretty neat.
Have a look at tactical tortoises take on it he seems to think it's deadlier than it first appears. And remember all our epic heros Grant deathwing key word. So you can mix greenwing in there too. Deathwing hellblasters? Ooh spicey. Whack asmodai with assault intercessors yes please. Ravenwing drive through walls? Yes please. Nah I think once players work out the kinks I think this is going to be wicked. Youve just got to combo the right units. The reactive charge strat with inner circle and a judiciar oomph see you later shredded wheat enemy
How do you think the Lion's Blade Task Force stacks up to the other Dark Angels or Space Marines generic Detachments?

Also storm raven is ravenwing, brutalis is deathwing. Filled with deathwing hellblasters lead by azrael and an apothecary

At first glance it's awful. If everything falls into place it can do great. But everything has to go your way.
