This is really a piece of Americana - lovely colors and a gentle reminder that we are dounded on the hard work of farmers and that the simple life was the good life. Thank you for making it.
Hello! I’m the lucky woman who got this stunning journal! My hubby and I were watching crafty videos together and found yours. I went crazy over your journal and went on Etsy to see if it was still there and unbelievably it was. I never thought I’d get it. Anyway my sweet husband went behind my back and bought it for me! He kept saying that something was going to be delivered for Mother’s Day for me. I need a new dishwasher and assumed it was that. When the box came and he gave it to me last night, I asked if it was an inflatable one. Lol! He couldn’t wait until Mother’s Day because he was so excited! When I opened the box, I know I squealed out loud! It’s so beautiful! Everything about it is beautiful! I love it! We loved the way you packaged it and the pack of fabric pieces, paper, etc. that you included for me to put in the journal. He said he didn’t know that was going to be in there. Thank you so much for creating this wonderful rooster/farm themed journal! I still can’t believe it’s mine! Fun fact...the vintage cucumber seed packet came from the town we live in!!! My mouth dropped open in shock when I saw that! Out of all the places in the US, how could it come from here? I’ve been down the street listed on the packet a million times!
Oh my goodness, I love this story so much! It really makes my day! The seed packet is a sign that this journal was meant to be yours! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this. It really touches my heart!
You’re welcome! I thought it was such a cool thing that I had to share! I, too, felt like it was a sign that it was meant to be mine! I actually told my husband and mama that. Lol! You do such beautiful work! I love it!
Hi Linda. I had a request from my sister to make a journal for her SIL and she wanted Barns and Sunflowers. So I am looking forward to making that, sunflowers is one of my favorite flowers. I really like this journal, so cute! I think because I am a country girl. So I love anything farm. You have some very creative ideas! I love learning new things. Great journal and video! Have a great day!
@@fiennesgirl9776 Oh my goodness! I did not make that connection when I was answering your questions about the journal! I did notice that it seemed to be a man who purchased it! Thank you again and what a sweet guy! I hope you love it!
That is a very nice, very happy journal. The front cover is fab. I love those colors, the rooster, the yo-yos. (Durn - the spellchecker did not like yo-yos.) Thanks for the footnotes. I want to check out some of those papers. Great job!
I have some questions...where did you get the cucumber seed packet since it came from here in MY town? Also where did you get the three circular things on the front cover? I had some once, but don’t anymore and can’t remember where I bought them. Also there’s a half circle inside that looks like a copy of embroidery. Did you get that from Johanna Clough here on TH-cam? I know she does some. Anyway, thanks again! I love it!
Hi and thank you for watching the flip-through! Here are some answers to your questions: The cucumber seed packet is something that I purchased at a local antique store. It came in a little pack that had about 5 different seed envelopes inside. The fabric circles on the cover are called fabric "yo-yos" and these are some that had purchased in a packaged assortment, perhaps on Etsy, but I do not remember exactly as I often find them at estate sales as well. I also make them myself (they are really easy to make) If you do a search for "Fabric Yo Yo" on Etsy, hundreds of listings should come up. And lastly, the copy of the embroidered horse half-circle is from one of the digitals that I used for the journal. It is also from Etsy and I added the direct link to the description box. Here it is: www.etsy.com/listing/763504676/vintage-ephemera-pack-29-farm-theme?click_key=282e197e6147189e20df69a82fd99d7ca925dfe4%3A763504676&click_sum=9ab053f4&ref=shop_home_recs_1&crt=1 I hope I answered your questions, and thanks again for watching and for reaching out! Have a great day! Linda
The yo-yos on the cover are perfection! Fantastic journal! TYFS💖
