This was one of my favorite games on the genesis, really wished they made more! Lovely renditions of the musics, it really takes me back :) Keep up the good work :)
@@CollisionChaos You're welcome! Ristar's one of my favourite games and, as others have stated, you nailed the 90s SEGA music "feel" to it to the point that it sounds believable! The believability factor is something I hold dearly when it comes to seeing/hearing things replicated in a particular style.
It is PERFECT. You’ve managed to retain all the original vibes. It might’ve been remastered for the whole Sega CD feel but it still beats all of the current Ristar remasters/remixes.

Holy crap, dude! This is incredible. I'm a little saddened to see only 500-some likes at the time of this response, and more so, to hear it was cancelled. The important thing, though, is that you made a beautiful thing, and nothing changes that. I like to think that, when we die and meet God in eternity, we get to experience all the things that were overlooked during our short times as mortals. I'd love to talk music and samples with you, cuz these are dope. Also, one thing I'd like to point out is that Ice Scream is an interpolation of Soul II Soul's "Keep On Movin'", so maybe incorporating the drums from there would be a sly nod to its inspiration. Y'all should definitely continue it.

@@CollisionChaos After you upload your finished versions of the tracks, I wonder if DevBoyDibs (Creator of the Ristar 2 fangame) will want to hire you to create more tracks for that fangame, considering he's a huge fan of the already existing Ristar CD fan tracks.
I've made many dud ideas for games, especially when it comes to remakerings of Sonic games on the 8bit hardware to 16bit (don't ask, it's a Bible long story), but I genuinely think this has promise. Ristar would be kinda hard to port though. It IS a late era cartridge based game, it uses the Mega Drive to its limit, with the most obvious example being the animated tiles. Unless the Sega CD can load uncompressed graphics as fast as a cartridge, you'll be running out of VRAM (which doubles as your code area) really fast... Since music is getting the CD treatment, it's not an issue beyond some very specific FM sound effects, which you could just get higher quality samples of them (if they exist, they could've just have done the sounds in the sound driver first and simply polish it)
Everything about these tracks is absolutely FANTASTIC. Hearing these makes me want to go back and play the game over and over again. Iunno how you did it but man, every single ONE of these is a slam dunk.
The concept of this sounds great, a shame you guys had to stop. But I'm in love with these remixes, you definitely got the spirit of the originals perfectly.
Oh my dear GOD THIS MUSIC IS SOOO GOOD the only song that i really still prefer the original would be "on parade" because of the lack of the "Du di da's" But in general these remixes are wonderful, it seems like a huge evolution! I would be happy if the songs could be posted separately or could be downloaded eventually :)
Yeah, I would add it, but the project was cancelled before that :( but maybe one day I will finish all those remixes! And if I ever finish em, I can publish a separate link for each one ^^
BROOOO THESE ARE SO GOOOOOOD I love em with all my heart, they're giving me nostalgia of the original ❤ I really hope you 2 will finish this someday, even if it's a few years later And as long as we will have to wait, we have this amazing soundtrack by you
Man i'd love to see this finished, greedy game would be absolutely amazing for sure. I hope you're able to finish this some day, even if it's just the soundtrack. Thanks for the great work you're sharing
These are astounding! You've really captured the aesthetic and tone of 90's-era SEGA--Tomoko Sasaki would be proud. (I especially appreciate how you've played around with the instrumentation in 4-1) Even if you never come back to this project--which I very much hope you do!--please consider remastering Beyond Space! It's such a wonderful lil' track.
For the love of god, I hope you find the motivation to finish this work someday. They're AMAZING remixes for an amazing game. Not sure if you know this, but there's since been a development called MD-MSU that allows for some flash carts (like the Mega SD or Mega Everdrive X7) that allows you to add CD-quality audio to any Genesis game out there. I would LOVE to play through Ristar again with these remixes. The port to bring it to Sega CD itself might be dead, but your soundtrack - and the idea of the project - could completely live on that way.
@@CollisionChaos I'm happy to hear that then! Best of luck on finishing it! Please ping me once you do, I'd like to give it some support and amplify it out there :)

If you used a cliped/distorted 909 snare, always make it be slighty delayed after hihats/tambourines
If you use a saturated 909 bass drum, always make it slighty delayed after hihats/tambourines

The concept of this sounds great, a shame you guys had to stop. But I'm in love with these remixes, you definitely got the spirit of the originals perfectly.
this is absolutely stunning and you could've fooled me into thinking this was official, amazing work! i would've loved to see this project completed
Absolutely love what you did with this! Ice Scream is my favorite song from the game and y'all killed it. Thanks for creating this!
Oh my dear GOD THIS MUSIC IS SOOO GOOD
the only song that i really still prefer the original would be "on parade" because of the lack of the "Du di da's" But in general these remixes are wonderful, it seems like a huge evolution! I would be happy if the songs could be posted separately or could be downloaded eventually :)
Yeah, I would add it, but the project was cancelled before that :( but maybe one day I will finish all those remixes! And if I ever finish em, I can publish a separate link for each one ^^
@@CollisionChaos ohhh, that's Very good to hear!
I hope you can finish it, these remixes are just amazing, some of them really became my favorites! :D
God this game has one of my favorite soundtracks out of the genesis’ library, it brings back so many memories and you pretty much perfected it. 😭
Thank you
BROOOO THESE ARE SO GOOOOOOD
I love em with all my heart, they're giving me nostalgia of the original ❤
I really hope you 2 will finish this someday, even if it's a few years later
And as long as we will have to wait, we have this amazing soundtrack by you
Thank you! While the port is canceled, I decided to finish all the remixes and post a video for each one, it should start happening in the next months
@@CollisionChaos a shame honestly, but thank you for at least finishing the remixes!
I will def listen to em while drawing :)
@@CollisionChaos omg omg!
Ending is so good!! Its heartbreaking this never got completed its a literally a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing, this is the boost i needed ❤️

Yeah, IceScream still a masterpiece, wonderfull work, hope you guys continue the project!!
This is the definition of a underrated gem.
Man i'd love to see this finished, greedy game would be absolutely amazing for sure. I hope you're able to finish this some day, even if it's just the soundtrack. Thanks for the great work you're sharing
this put me in a trance for 20 minutes straight. i cant express how much youve made the original compositions shine!!!!! please finish this :)
thank you!
Those are seriously amazing! Would you consider doing a lossless release of these remixes some day? Perhaps on Bandcamp?
Sure, if I ever finish thoses remixes i can release em lossless! Thank you ^^
@@ChurchofKondoh Thank you so much!
@@CollisionChaos man you making me cry....
@@jamesoffutt2801 I’m halfway through the Ending song, I imagine I might cry soon… ☺️
@@crnkmnky pfffffffffffffffft.
This shit is nuts, great job
15:21 Wow, SCD's Metallic Madness Zone Samples!
YOU ARE A MASTER OF YOUR CRAFT HOLY SHIT
Oh, I didn't expect to see you here.
If this isn't a masterpiece, then I don't know what is
it is criminal that you're not bigger, you make bangers that are at the greats!
These are astounding! You've really captured the aesthetic and tone of 90's-era SEGA--Tomoko Sasaki would be proud.
(I especially appreciate how you've played around with the instrumentation in 4-1)
Even if you never come back to this project--which I very much hope you do!--please consider remastering Beyond Space! It's such a wonderful lil' track.
Thank you! And yeah, even if the port got cancelled, i still would like to finish the remixes and post a individual video for each one
Ristar CD and Ristar 2 are awesome!!! :D
Wow!😲
It' s really sounds like I made it.
Are you really Hataya? Thank you so much for your comment!
Imagine 😆@@CollisionChaos
😳
Wow, that is really good!
Quality.
Already been said but I'll say it too: Sounds fantastic! Very authentic sounding tracks. :)
thank you so much! i'm currently finishing all the tracks to post on separate videos
THIS IS...other worldly...Thank you for this!
Wow, thank you so much!! I'm actually working on finishing all the remixes, but I don't know when it will be ready, hopefully soon!
@@CollisionChaos I'm happy to hear that then! Best of luck on finishing it!
Please ping me once you do, I'd like to give it some support and amplify it out there :)
