    The people of Russia have never been free in their entire existence.
    I don't know if they could even understand what it would feel like.

      I think they’re scared of it. They’ve been told everyone in free countries has no safety net and we’re all eating our pets.

    • @ПаніПончик
      @ПаніПончик 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Freedom for russians is more like a swap instead of them having their first freedoms, if you know you know. I'll explain a little bit -
      In the free world it is illegal to do things like marry your family members, have lewd images of minors on your computer, to be drunk, high, or urinating in public, or to have multiple wives. They are afraid to trade these "freedoms" for our freedoms.

    • @ПаніПончик
      @ПаніПончик 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      They'd love to benefit from our freedoms without having to obey the laws and rules that come along with it. It sounds weird because they don't protest the strict laws against freedom of speech and association. They don't care about that, throw them the crumbs and allow the laziest squalor and they're "as happy as a pig in mud".

    American here. In 2022, there was obviously a hope among the nations of the world that this present unpleasantness could be put aside and the world could get back to using cheap Russian hydrocarbons for their own economic interests. What I see having developed to now is a change of world mood that our various economic interests must be satisfied without cheap Russian hydrocarbons.

    Unfortunate fact is that some of the world does not believe in justice and fairness. Some believe it is okay to do anything to further their own good rather then work for the benefit of all.
    Why is there not a larger 'underground force' of opposition against Putin in Russia? Seems that the vast majority are so oppressed and silent that it is better to say nothing, do nothing because nothing the individual could do would improve or change the realities around them.
    Now why, how did the Vietcong survive, thrive and eventually win? Western non-brutal tactics. Peace and love does not bring military victory, Russian's simply destroy everything and everyone in their way.

    • @gnufoo8478

      If russians have hard time to buy stuff and find replacements their life will fall apart as ours would do. If the oil pipelines leaking more and more there will be less money, less tanks, less soldiers unless they walk to the front with rural hay forks! Without the US the russians would never have made it in WW2 and this tiny fact, they probably forgot to tell their folks. Since they probably haven’t changed much, all they do is killing and producing chaos, when they could have been so much more peaceful and reasonable with their resources and build up a real counter balance to the US. However they got a 3rd class dictator, which only knows to make war, but not wealth or sustainable plans for the future.

    Hi Mark, do you really think the next administration could just dream of lifting the sanctions that are just starting to really work? I live in Denmark - quite close to Russia, so I'm a little scared.

    God bless you Mark, always value your analysis. So, the bell finally tolls for Russia??
    Smooth is the descent, easy is the way, but to go once again and view these cheerful skies,
    That way a mighty labour lies.
    It's gonna be a while until Russia can return to some sort of normality.

      It depends on the actions of Washington. However, I do not see the Russian economy lasting under ceteris paribus to the fall.

    My own opinion over here in the states are that 90% of the "help wanted" or "Now Hiring" signs hanging about are really the inability for a business to pay for work performed.
