      The prophet taught tough men to be soft on vulnerable women and to show mercy through islamic values. In that time, it was much needed, however in our time that we a have culture against manhood and women are not vulnerable, think the focus should be on how to make men stronger and show women what islamic values are for the family dynamic.

    I agree with you in this as a female,
    what I usually see in my community is some men bullied their wives(to gain financial benefit -provide min 50% nafkah),
    manipulating some hadiths to do so,
    want to be leader but lack essential core values(ethics,integrity and really practise Islam as Islam not as their/community version of it) and skills(low education level but talk big) and-only stand there(cowards) when seeing other people been bullied and stingy(or tit for tat),force other people to do sinful things(in term of working) when become leaders
    thank you for this reminder-I was just listened to a lecture on Debt and Loans in Islam(i.e 2 women + 1 man as witness),this put a different perspective.

    For all the men shouting what about the women? What about feminism- I’d like them to suggest the major problems in the ummah that have been caused by women. On the flip side, I can point to many women’s shelters where Muslim women AND children are sitting and have experienced and are experiencing a lot of pain. We all know of at least one home where abuse is happening against a woman and many a time we keep quiet. ‘Feminism’ is not a real problem in the Muslim community. Sure there are bad apples everywhere and gender is no category of exception but the problems of male toxicity in Muslim communities is overwhelming and sometimes even leads to unaliving women- unfortunate news that we have all heard of even in recent times even in Muslim communities in North America. Women wanting to drive in middle eastern countries or wanting to pursue careers does not cause actual harm to anyone. In fact, ‘feminism’ in Muslim communities is more like women asking for the rights that Allah has already bestowed on them in the Quran but that have been taken away from them over time. Inheritance rights, divorce rights, rights for widows, sisters, daughters- now that women are standing up and asking for their God-given rights, they are labeled ‘feminists’ because they have been used to keeping their mouths shut and just taking it for such a long time in Muslim families and communities. All is takes sometimes is for men to ask your mothers, sisters, wives how they are feeling from time to time and genuinely listen and try to sort out their problems. When we start seeing such a simple act as not a burden, maybe we will start to see actual improvement in the ummah. Until then, if you still have no clue how much of an issue male toxicity is in our ummah, please take the time to visit a local shelter and see for yourself the condition of Muslim women and children there.

    If men have a high emotional tolerance than women,then how come they are the ones to kill the most,isnt killing driven by emotions? How come its common to hear a man kill a woman because they got rejected ? Isnt that a response out of emotion? How is that logical? Dont men abuse women the most? How is that logic?, men and women are both logical beings, some choose to use it and some choose not to,both men and women are emotional beings, some overstep their boundaries and some dont ,but we know who does though

    Another example of toxic masculinity: man can’t reflect choice in his face. But ALLAH’s apostle (S) face reflected what he like and he disliked (e.g., some ‘baduin’ came to prophet (s) with open sword and beg for foods, then his (s) face became black; when Omer reading pages of ‘tawrat’ ALLAH’s apostle face became red (Ref. Muttafakunali). Moreover, if ALLAH’s apostle didn’t like something, he turned away his face. In addition, mother Aiisa said, ALLAH’s apostle was more shy than a virgin female.

      @pasttax2734 You are not being sincere. All we have heard as women growing up is the rights of men and how to serve men. Especially those of us who did not grow up in the west. Because of that some men abuse these rights. So the need for sheikhs to start talking about the toxicity. Give me one sheikh aside this that has talked about toxic masculinity. It's just one sheikh and all of a sudden, there is comparison to the other gender. Another reason why you are not sincere, this sheikh has in the past talked about the dangers of feminism and why we muslim women shouldn't subscribe to that idea because we take how muslims should act from the Quran and Sunnah. That was years ago. You didn't dare him then to do videos about masculinity. Yet, he did and you still condemn the sheikhs. AS HE SAID, THIS IS NOT ABOUT GENDER WARS. STOP ESCALATING THE ISSUE. Shiekh. Umar RA was a great great man if we were to conduct our lives accordingly towards our spouses and daughters, would we fall under the definition of Toxic Masculinity? Or is the feminist agenda so strong that we have no meaningful authority over our women? Is there such a thing as geyrah or we should let our women mingle in the work place, shake hands with men, let them become workplace friends with non muslim men. The competition begins when they want to lead and that is naturally the man's role. Please make sure we address what is really going on with social media destroying the minds of women as to what is the hierarchy. No man wants to constantly have his authority over his house challenged. And then how does he exit a toxic relationship? 50%-50% split? A lot has to be covered here so I hope you don't stop short to please the progressives.

      Wdym? It is toxic behaviors that men do that are pushed into them by other men/ women in society. There are behaviors that some men do that are not healthy and can hurt others but are normalized by certain groups. I don't get what you mean by this.

      Please listen if necessary listen twice before criticizing a scholar in a public forum.
      JIHAD, is struggling;
      The leader the sheikh spoke from Yaseen spoke up that’s jihad.
      The Sheikh gave several other examples from Quran , like fighting against you nafs to leave business and go for prayers when it times(SURAH Noor).
