Tea harvesting in Iran is done in groups and with the cooperation of men and women.
Tea cultivation in Iran started in 1896.
In this year, one of the men of that era named Mohammad Mirza Kashif al-Saltaneh, who was assigned to serve as the consul general of Iran in India, was able to bring some tea plants into Iran with great effort when he returned to Iran.
According to the studies he had done on the types of tea and how to grow them, he chose Lahijan city in Gilan province because of the suitable weather for tea cultivation.Today, this city has become the center of tea cultivation in Iran and different types of tea such as Iranian tea of Gilan are produced there.
After that and over time, tea was cultivated in most of the cities of Gilan province, especially the cities that had suitable mountains and hills. Of course, tea cultivation caused the destruction of many trees and forest cover in Gilan province
The tea plant was first known in China about five thousand years ago, and its healing properties were gradually discovered.
Tea is the name of an aromatic drink that is usually obtained by pouring hot water on the leaves of the camellia sinensis plant, which is an evergreen plant native to East Asia. After water, this drink is the most consumed drink in the world.
The tea drink is made by steeping the processed leaves, buds or branches of the Camellia sinensis tea plant in hot water for a few minutes.
Tea is a popular drink in Iran. And most people consume it every day. Iranians also consider tea to cure fatigue.
The origin of the tea plant includes eastern and southern China, northern Myanmar, and the Indian state of Assam. The rapid growth of the Assamese variety of tea can be seen in areas that cover from Yana province to the northern part of Myanmar and Assam in India
The origins of human use of tea are described in many legends, but the place where tea was first produced is unknown.
In ancient times, tea was harvested by hand. After that, by producing special scissors for tea harvesting and attaching a cloth sack to it, tea harvesting is done in the way you see
After harvesting, the tea is put into larger sacks ready to be transported to the tea processing factory. Big sacks of tea are collected in one place and then transported by car to the place of tea processing factory.
In many cultures throughout history, tea has been regarded as a healing potion. Consuming brewed tea accelerates breathing movements, speeds up blood circulation, relieves sleepiness, strengthens mental power, better digestion of food, and perspiration.
Therefore, tea can be prescribed for fatigue, nervous weakness, migraine, heart diseases and asthma.
