    Great video, enjoyed that project and love your workshop. I find my hobbies always hit a wall and it seems to involve tools. You reach a point where there is only so much you can do with simple tools before you need to jump off the cliff and invest in other things. With Scale modelling it was buying an extractor and airbrushes; with woodworking it is a jointer and other larger power tools to finish rough lumber and saws to get accurate cuts; and with leatherwork it is cutting, sewing, edging, skiving. I love the garage press idea and will be trying that....doing it on a bench vise sucks. Very envious of that skiving machine hand skiving is not fun. Cheers!

    I'd be interested in seeing how to neatly hand sew thin (and skived thin) leather like this. It seems the thinner the leather the more difficult hand sewing neatly is for me. I'm sure it's a technique problem combined with needle and thread selection... tips are appreciated!

    Welding the ends together is as simple as acid etching the end, then a drop of bronze heated onto that.

    Hello, lovely work! What is the name of the colour of the darker brown leather you used? I'm going to buy some leather from Abbey, what particular one are you using, as there seems to be multiple different bridle leather at vastly different prices!
    Thanks for the help, I'm new to the hobby so it's all a little overwhelming.
    Thanks again

    • @harryrogers

    Hello, what sort of steel did you use to make the clicker die?

    • @harryrogers
      @harryrogers  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello its a bendable steel strip with a sharp edge that you can buy from box making suppliers and such like ....and to be more specific its steel rule die in strip form from Partwell Group...Bohler Universal 2pt CFDB 23.8...very bendable with a soft core...centre face double bevel, fairly thin and 23.8mm high.
