Excellent video!! Not only did you give clear explanation of why you changing the thermal switch but also gave other things to check for like the door switch. Very impressed by your technical knowledge sir!

Thank you!!!!! You saved me a couple hundred dollars. My problem was a thermal fuse that was not tight enough. So I tightened it and it works perfectly fine now.. such a simple fix, thanks for making this video, you are the man👍

      Cavity Thermostat Closes at 158 degrees F. | Appliance Videowww.appliancevideo.com › repair-help › question
Hi. Yes, it looks like you are talking about the hood TCO. This is a normally open t-stat. When temperature reaches 158 degrees, the t-stat will close which ...

I understand some of the thermal fuses only open when they reach a certain temperature so how would you test for that?

How can you tell if a thermal fuse is bad? Multimeter Test Remove the two wire leads from the thermal fuse and touch a multimeter probe to each wire terminal on the fuse. If you get a reading of infinity, the fuse is fine. Any reading less than infinity indicates a triggered thermal fuse you will need to replace. Works for me

@@mbjdiy1778 Your reply is opposite to what you said in the video . . . infinity means no continuity that indicate fuse is blown

Regardless of individual ratings; once the T-stat opens, they don't reset themselves.

My thermostat(kds201 70)had no continuity. I accidentally purchased a ksd301 70. The original also had a red dot on it. Can I use the 301 or do I need the 201 and what about the red dot?

These things vary I put in what ever was taken out so you need to call the place you bought and find out if they are the same .😇
