How can you tell if a thermal fuse is bad? Multimeter Test Remove the two wire leads from the thermal fuse and touch a multimeter probe to each wire terminal on the fuse. If you get a reading of infinity, the fuse is fine. Any reading less than infinity indicates a triggered thermal fuse you will need to replace. My thermostat(kds201 70)had no continuity. I accidentally purchased a ksd301 70. The original also had a red dot on it. Can I use the 301 or do I need the 201 and what about the red dot?

Regardless of individual ratings; once the T-stat opens, they don't reset themselves.

These things vary I put in what ever was taken out so you need to call the place you bought and find out if they are the same .😇
