First video installment in a series where I contemplate why my engine suddenly seems to run perfectly. In this one I examine the settings and tuning of the Weber DCOE40 carburetors.

Carbuerettors fascinate me, they are so clever in how they go about their purpose, a minimalist masterpiece. When jetted and sized correctly you know its right - the AFR gives hard technical numbers for what range your motor responds well to, But you just know when its right with your type of setup, by listening, feeling, and using our senses with knowledge and acquired experience. Your on point with the slow run system accounting for a large part of general driving - more users probably need to appreciate that kernel of wisdom, idle is only the most basic of its functions. Now please tell ... was that Bjoerling

    Nice and intresting video,like allways...
I‘m really surprised, that you use 100 air correctors, that seems v“far too reach for me,i‘m running with 190 on my tuned 1600 GT,and it revs very nicely.
Do you use the 123Ignition BT?
It’s a good option for tuned engines, because the ignition curve can be very different on them.

wow! 100 air correction? Have you gone higher? It seems that would create a flat spot up high but clearly it revs well. I'm close to your settings except air correction. 125 mains and 165 air.

Hey, shouldn’t your 12mm float distance be taken from the middle of the black float????? You could be running out of fuel up top in the rev range……..👌good vid.

Is your first progression hole totally covered by the edge of the throttle plate at idle?
