An absolute master. He sings the narrative of my young life. He sings it beautifully, it never fails to evoke a lush memory that will stop me immediately in my tracks.
+Francesco Paterni Thank you! As a side note, I may do videos for some of these "over-repeated" singers, but I'll try and put my own spin on them so you're not seeing the same thing 20 times over.
I'm not a vocal expert, but today his voice sounds so deep, rich and well matured. He has so much power and volume in his deep voice he hasn't in the 70's. I love his voice during the 00 years.
Before late March 1986, Elton regularly hit very high full voice and falsetto notes both live and on his albums (I.e. Bb4s through D5s). In the years after his surgery he dodges a s#!t ton of notes even below G4s. In 2019, Elton struggles even to hit A4s.
2:23 I love to sing Nikita so much, one of my most favorite song ever...but I can only reach that lowest part (G2) in the morning when I just woke up, or in my insomniac and smoking days. My normal voice range is only A2-A5. And I'm a woman, dammit... 😂 Hail Lord Elton John... 🙆
@@juliuspolaris1665 Yeah, in the morning I can make that croaky sound (I don't know what it's called) and can sing many men's low notes songs... My favorite morning shower songs are Nikita and You'll Never Found Another Love Like Mine (by Lou Rawls). But after an hour or so (or after I started singing high notes/women's songs) I would lost it... 😂

I am a low tenor (D2-B5)...for now at least. I am pretty young (16) so maybe I'll develop more baritone-ish traits in the Future! Won't go full on bass, I assure you. Ive always wondered later in his tours during the 21st century i feel like elton started to miss his old voice when singing old songs. He tried so hard to put effort into them like he didnin the 70s. Watching his big dodger stadium tour on youtube he tried to sing thing loud
Hey great video (I've watched it about 50 times). But isn't the G#4 from "Skyline Pigeon" actually the one from "Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player"? I think the "Empty Sky" one is a bit different (Notably he says Thing instead of Dreams). Sorry again it's a nitpick but just wanted to point that out.
Sir Elton John. He's still standing after all this time, don't you agree? 2020. The soundtrack of my entire life since 1972. Long live to the King of Pop Rock Music. Blessings to him.
Elton John Is Terrible At High Notes But Is Good With Low Notes But Overall I'm The Better Singer From C1 To G7 And Don't Worry I Have Great Control And Technique On My Vocal Chords And Been Singing For About 6 Years Now Without A Vocal Coach And I'm Better Than 95% Of Singers Ever!
The last couple of songs sounded like the work of backup vocalists rather than Elton. Otherwise, AMAZING video. This is so interesting to hear Elton's voice in depth like this though. Elton has a set of golden lungs
+Nicolas P. After about C5 or so, yes. I do believe he's gone higher than that in chest, but I couldn't pinpoint any precise examples, and it's not too big of a deal either way.
Sounds more like a tenor with solid lows to me. Its pretty pointless to differentiate in contemporary music. Head voice and microphones make Fach almost irrelevant.
Correct me if I'm wrong: most of the highest stuff fell pre-surgery, right?
That is correct
What an amazing voice Elton John has! And he's still going strong in his 70's!

Elton's voice changed in 1987 after throat surgery, but he still sounds great! Any significant changes to his range?
Yes. It's severely limited to this day.

I 100% agree. He sounds great in his 70's. I can't wait to see him in 2021!
he was tenor till his throat surgery, that made he a baritone
He has always had an amazing voice and personality. Can listen to him for hours.❤❤❤
The A4 in I'm Still Standing is actually Ab4.
The high notes in the studio recording is in a slightly weird pitch just between Ab4 and A4, however, live, he has always performed the song in Ab4.
Maybe I'm wrong but i think the "shine the light" falsetto was even higher in the 80s live shows.
Can you provide me with more info on the live version of Someone Saved my Life Tonight... amazing falsetti!
It's from the 1975 Wembley Stadium concert - available as an extra CD on a Capt Fantastic reissue

I’m a male and normally my lowest note is F2 but in the morning I get to an E2 sometimes and Eb
An A2 is very low for a woman! That's pretty unique!
Edit: and you have a pretty shabby higher range too for someone who sings so low!

He's not a tenor, but a baritone. The notes in the A4 range and up are full head voice.
I think you’re right, he’s a high baritone. He’s singing pretty high on burn down the Mission.
He was a tenor.
100% tenor for most of his career. In the last 20 years or so his voice has deepened to baritone
Either a pretty high lyric baritone or a relatively low tenor. Pointless to differentiate for contemporary music.
Thank you for this fascinating video!

Neat video on my all time favorite
just wondering does anyone know what's his highest "head voice" note
D6 is his head voice
@@malifalitic0 he probably meant chest voice, hard to say, but its on the 5th octave for sure

What about in Harmony? Or did the notes in that song match some of the others? He hits some low notes in that song

He pass to he tenor voice to a baritone voice and he still has one of the best voices of the industry.
What is the two notes in rocketman when he goes «hi-IGH»?
F4 to a Bb4

So Elton John can sing up to a D6? He should perform as an opera soprano then. I am sure he will be a great success at La Scala.
I searched on google that my vocal range is E2-D6 and I found that he has the same vocal range as mine .
same here
E2 - Bb5

AAA Inc. XD you can’t belt a Bb5 genius

What is elton's highest chestvoice?
Nick Wheeler Elton is such an important part of my life !!!!!!!!!!!!
Curious to know if the C5 in Tiny Dancer is falsetto or head voice?
Rich Allo head voice
Head voice. When you go into falsetto there is an audible break in your voice it's very clear.
Definitely falsetto, that's why he can't do it anymore. Elton had one of the best falsettos!
Falsetto freind
yeah I was curious about that too but it's definitely falsettos
Nice video, but I think you forgot his high tone in Rocketman, “and I’m gonna be high, hiiiigh.”

The Long Shot Of course, as a singer myself I was just a bit curious :)
Thanks for your quick answer !
Of course! Glad you liked the video!
if you look at the live performances from the 80s, notes he would hit in his falsetto range were full force from the chest.
@@powerstroker0622 Yes. 'One More Arrow' is a good example. Most of the falsettos from the studio recording are delivered with full chest belts.

Do you?
Congratulations
And?
I only have A2-A5. And I'm a woman. 😭

Great voice until 80's not too bad after but now awful, but still a genius at piano!
Levon is only a Bb....
I agree. A sustained Bb4.
Tenor 2
Bb5 is falsetto
What Bb5?
B flat 5
Dihelson Mendonca I know that, but what Bb5?
Cristian Castro had hit B5 in full voice ...johan Nilsson too
Daniel krome mixed voice
Is Baritone?
He is a tenor with a wide range and can sing low notes too.
