I don't care what anyone says Arthur, I think you are a fantastic parent who is incredibly patient especially given the fact that you have so many little ones running around. You still find the time and energy to put out some great content that is both informative and fun to watch. Thank you for all you do
I found you almost yesterday and it was more of a joke than anything cause I was bored but after watching your noob guide and starting a farm guide ive been hooked on playing this game and in all honesty you inspire me. The fact you're a single dad with 6 kids just wows me and really keeps me motivated. I would love nothing more than to see a picture of your family you are a genuine guy who is really good at making videos and I have a simple sense of humor so i always find myself laughing over your video even if it wasn't your main goal. I wish you the best with your career and your family and thank you for doing what you're passionate about it really opened my eyes.
I really like ur Vids because every other youtube is so worried about videos being perfect but u just make the video and it's more like a natural video if that makes sense. Great videos Arthur
Arthur Chapman I agree with his comment. We appreciate the feeling of just hanging out playing the game with you. I watch the videos while we aren't flying. We spray with a helicopter, I remember one of your episodes you asked if people do that and yep we do lol. We use bell 206b jet Rangers. Have a good one and keep it up!( hey mater)
Dear Arthur,In this video you asked if the JCB tree cutter shown at 11:00 was realistic. The truth is partly. I my self have seen our bobcats bigger than the semi pulling them and the implement shown in the video about shoulder height on me. I am 6:7. Therefore the tree you picked up that didn't flip you would be about 10 metres so yes it would be realistic on the big bobcats but no on the smaller bobcats. But on that same matter tracks are better than tires because tracks have more grip and more surface area on the ground. I went down to the shed and our tracks on the big boys are end to end 1.7 metres and the tires tread to tread are 1.3metres I know that there's measurements may be different but these are based off of where I work. I went to my boss and asked him if I could check out what I've written so far and got permission to go down to the field. I tested my theory and the tracks could hold up to 16 metre straights as used in fs17. But the wheels (um didn't end well had to pay $3000 in damage to the machinery) could only hold 13.3 metres and flipped front ways at 14 metres. So in conclusion you used a tracked JCB so this is completely possible in your current questioned scenario.Kind Lenghty regards, Jason
I have a little cautionary story for anyone into logging. I hope i can look back and laugh later, if I survive it. I'll call it "Trees are destroying the world, part 1" There's a little patch of grass behind your main parking lot at the Golcrest farm. I figured it would be a good place to run back and forth with the sapling planter for a couple hours and put about 500 trees right there nice and handy. When the trees were nearing full growth, I started noticing a little choppyness in the screen when I drove by them. Figuring it was the animation of hundreds of tightly packed and overlapping trees blowing back and forth (which looks pretty cool), I decided not to wait for full growth and get them out of there. Started with the scorpion, but with the lag seemingly getting worse every few minutes, it was too low a framerate to truly enjoy. So i grabbed my McCullough and started laying them down by hand. Dozens of them, maybe a hundred. Now I have superlag and a jumble of huge logs and stumps. You can't even bring a vehicle near the place, or it slows to one frame per 5 seconds and wants to lock up real bad. So here I am, chainsaw in hand, putting no less than 8 or 10 cuts in each log and walking them out the quagmire by hand one by one for a couple hours a day for a week now. It's an absolute mess, with a loader and a skid I tried to ram through there, stuck in what would be one heck of a historic bonfire. If I get out of this mess alive and save my world from crawling to a halt, I'll be sure to let you know. Sincerely, one terrified feller trying to save the world.
Trees Are Destroying the World -Part 2 : The Bale Issue I'm alive, and recently received information from a trusted farmer that the storage 3 bay full of bales right in front of the now 300ish pines might be destroying the world as much as the swinging branches. I've taken his advice, and moved them all down to the south end of field 19 away from the trees. And all sitting on the ground, not stacked high and pressed together. It helped enough that I'm able to swing the scorpion in there and load direct to the timber runner without my xbox exploding and burning down the house. The lag is manageable, and I've only had a handful of blackouts and eye twitches due to the jumpy frame rate, so I think I'll survive long enough to finish cleanup. Thank you Arthur. With your help, we may have just saved the world. -Sincerely, One Slightly Smarter Feller
I’m soooo happy you still make these videos!!!! I remember watching farming simulator 2015 a loooong time ago and I got it because of you! I found it recently and started playing again! So I looked you up and was disappointed that you didn’t have more subscribers because I genuinely enjoy your content because it is so honest and you don’t get mad at the kids when they interrupt. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that you deserve much more than around 35k subs! I’ll start to watch your videos regularly again to help support your channel! Please don’t stop these videos!!!!
When using the front loader to load logs, get the silage leveler that you can put on the front loader. It works great for pushing and piling logs evenly to pick up a big bunch at once.
Thank you so much for posting this video! I've just started playing '17 on my Switch, and your videos have been suuuper helpful. I actually used to play FS '15 on my PS3; and, incidentally, your channel played an enormous part in making that game so enjoyable. Thus, once, I saw '17 on sale in the Nintendo Switch online store, the first thing I did was hop on here to make sure that you had videos about this specific version. Anywho, this is the 2nd FarmSim game that you have helped me with, and I am genuinely grateful. When I think about the time and energy that went into researching, filming, and editing (etc.) just one of these guides, it boggles my mind! 🤯 But, seriously, thank you for creating and posting all of these, and please take care. 🤙
When removing the branches from the tree, looking downward and crouching gives the best result. In FS15 I really liked the Steindl-Palfinger cause it was compatible with the Pickup Truck (for no apparent reason). So I would just load almost full trees, hold them with the arm and just drive with the pickup to the pond where you sell them whole.
The tree hugger on the skid steer is perfect for harvesting fields of Christmas trees in real life. Especially ones that have been infested with brambles.
I prefer using the pickup to start if you have it. It has straps, gets to and from the mill quickly. You can even overload it if you use the roof to balance, but be careful of the turns!
Appreciate your videos Arthur, very informative for those of us just starting out with farming simulator thinking about logging. I can tell you are getting a little exasperated with your kids coming in when you were trying to do this, might want to try laying down the law which means no means no! Allocate the time for computer use and since you are recording allow no interruptions. I know what my dad would've done, the belt would've been unbuckled and briskly pulled out of the loops! That was usually enough for me when I was a kid and judging from the sound of your voice you are a relatively young man not an old fart like me.
I think the big adjustment was being a single dad - during tutorials, I now only record tutorials when its either quiet or when my Ex wife has them - Sometimes its belt time too, lol.
The tree hugger has that little nub that moves, i recommend moving that before trying to hug, or some could get it to work without touching it. Just how you position it
Couldn't agree more on that trailer with the crane, thank goodness I leased it first because I ended up cutting the logs small enough that I chuck them into it myself. No going back from the ITRunner. Mudrunners isn't too bad because you only need to load 2, 3, or 4 logs (depending on trailer size) to get a full load.
11:06 I’ve only just started playing myself but the immediate use that comes to mind would be if you’re playing with a few others, clearing a piece of land and you’re moving trees to the team to clean, cut and load up for transport. I’m sure there are easier ways to do this though.
Great video Arthur! Thank you for sharing your knowledge on logging in FS19. Ive been looking for some good toutorials on this topic and this helped me alot. 👍😀
I absolutely love your videos but im sad that fs17 "died" because its the newest Farming sim part that my crappy office laptop can run And im impressed that you are STILL pumping out videos to this day
Oh I feel so stupid now! I've been wanting to add some more fields on my farm and to do that, cut down some trees. Activating chainsaw and cutting them was easy but then to grab the logs.. oh my. They're so long! Anyways, I struggled with log fork and some other log loading wagon machine but it was hell really. Looked around for something that would chop the tree but couldnt find. Of course A) it's easier to deal with the tree if you take off the branches .. duuuh, and B) you can just split them with the chainsaw.. :P THANK YOU! Now i'll probably end up wasting an hour of valuable farming on your video because it's interesting but just in minute 5, relieeef! :D
I am a logger and while the cutters we use are larger and handle up to 4 or 5 full sized pines at a time yes they do get carted around short distances by the cutter. Btw you start the blade and close the jaws as you "hit" the tree.
May be worth mentioning there is a way of sawing the branches off of a tree that's easier than the one used throughout the video and guarantees 100% if you do it right - turn the chainsaw so it's horizontal and line it up with the trunk. Holding down CTRL to crouch, move left/right along the trunk all the way to the end with the chainsaw on. Very easy and quick!
I use the Case Puma because it is the biggest tractor that can equip a front loader. I put the heaviest weight on the rear and I can pick some huge trees up without tipping over. I use the big semi trailer and dolly so I don't have to cut the trees short. I let them overhang the trailer as long as they don't drag on the ground. To unload, I unfasten the tension belts, detatch the tractor from the dolly, and ram the side of it with the forks up to tip it over. All the logs unload at once. It's a pretty inexpensive and quick way to make some money. Also, the Puma has a top speed of 32 and is a decent tractor to sow fields so it's a multipurpose tractor. It won't take too long to earn back the money spent. I haven't tried the Scorpion King. I will do that eventually.
A little tip for loading the ITR-woodcontainer with tractor and front loader: Don't cut the tree first. Take it and lift it into the container so that it touches the containers front side and then before letting it fall in cut the overstanding exactly at the end of the container. So you don't have to guess the length. ;)
the cool thing about the equipment in farm simulator they usually use the correct brand and model for the equipment so you can look the real counterparts of the game. so if you think something isn't realistic it's only a keyboard away.
See I can cut the trees just fine and clean them up. But the log forks do not load like they should. It pushes the logs around instead of sliding under the log to be grabbed and put on a trailer
250+ in game hours on pretty much only buffalos, dual joystick and 9 years (IRL) in excavators also makes the process much faster. Oh and in latest patch, sett crane sensitivity to nothing less than 250%
Up North, there is a tree processor that cuts the tree down, processes it right then, then you load your processed logs onto the back of the machine, then you take it to the landing to be loaded onto the trailer.
Do the logs stay in the trailer well? I have hated logging since 15, and I really want to like it. I can't grab logs for anything with the claws. I've been cutting them small and loading them in the cheap lizard truck. If you strap them in and go slow the logs are like cement on the truck and don't fall out. Even when I rolled the truck cutting a corner to quick. Great for clearing ornery trees in the way.
I am so glad for this. I love throwing them in with my hands. So much easier than using the crane, for me anyways. And the trailers are awesome. I tried in 15 but the tops of the trailers have invisible barriers for logs in 15. They just roll off the top. For consoles anyways. Thanks :)
David Norton I’ve used that old lizard truck and cut down one of the huge pine trees, managed to load about 2/3 of the tree and the straps held them in well, but it weighted so much that the rear suspension was slammed to the ground, plus we the truck flipping over past 35 km/h on tight turns and 50 on slight turns definitely gave me a great laugh, I did that until I could afford to lease some proper logging equipment.
You're in Cleveland? Cool, I was living there a couple years ago. I'm a country boy though, moved out after 2 years lol. In port Clinton for the moment, but I think I'm gonna have to drive to Cleveland to work. That's the one great thing I like about Cleveland, there's money to be made
The farm tractor has another grappler as well. And it works better imo. It cost a little more. It think the one is $600 and the better is $1200. But worth the lesser frustration. And I use the stump remover as a counter weight. Lol when cutting down trees. My tractor reminds me of a old Ditch witch . And I just leave the stump grinder on when I'm loading logs. And loading the big trailer with it. You need to raise both the arms and the bucket.
I've just started playing easy mode and I went the growing grass, round baleing then wrapping the bales. Each one sells for 5,800 dollars. But I'm tired of doing the same thing over and over. Maybe this would be a nice change. Thanks for sharing.
Arthur Chapman Well after 4 hours.. I finally got one trailer full of wood. Earned roughly 30,000 dollars. But OMG! I CANT TAKE THE FRUSTRATION!!! LOL Holy Cow I LOVE BAILING!! 😀
That Stepa FHL 13 AK, I think maybe it's supposed to be used a bit differently? I tried it out, and was able to use it semi efficiently (given I'm fairly newb at the game and even more newb with an xbox controller; trying to *not* use keyboard and mouse for once :P). * Cut down a tree and clean it off, but *don't* cut it into pieces * Back the trailer so it points toward the bottom of the tree * Then extend the arm as far as you can, grab the end of the tree, and then drag the tree onto the trailer * Release, extend, and keep pulling until the tree touches the end of the trailer (usually just takes two pulls) * When it touches the end, release, extend fully and grab onto the tree again * Then jump off, split the tree *behind* the hook, so that the loose part will fall down into your trailer, and the hook still holds the rest of the tree * Then jump back in, pull the rest of the tree back into the trailer, rinse and repeat until the whole tree is in your trailer What put me unto this idea, was that I discovered the trailer has a feature of sort of turning the whole trailer to align better with a tree (LB + RB + L-horizontal-axis on my controller). Looks like it has an axis on the thing that connects to the tractor which rotates and then skews the trailer "angle". That explanation turned out rather wordy... but hope it made sense. 🤔 Process is quite easy actually, and think it can be quite efficient too, just need to practice the grabbing skills a bit, hehe. The main thing is that you sort of won't have to spend any time loading the trailer afterwards, because you're doing it as you split up the tree. And once the trailer is full, you just go and back it into a lumberyard pond 😎
I Have Been Trying For 5 Hrs To Pick Up Logs And Every Time I Buy A Log Loadeder It Doesnt Work Excatly What Model Do U Have Attacthed To The Tractor Can U Reply With The Exzcat Model Of All The Equipment U R Using
Thank you by the way ive been playing since fs15 and i still havent explored logging and since i watch this i have made about 600,000$ in logging on fs17 thank you arthur👍🏻
Arthur, it is nice that as old as this video is, you still read and respond to comments and questions! Do you have a play thru or similar for any of the FS17 maps where you do mostly or entirely logging? Thanks.
Not a logger, but the skid steerers are extremely powerful IRL. they have a low center of gravity and hold all their weight low while having a lot of power for their size. Seems possible for a small tree to be held.
That one loader is for transporting logs when your Simi truck is back on the main road a far way from where your cutting. It's not ment as a main transport. Each machine has a different purpose for where your harvesting. How thick and dence the forest to how steep the hills are to giant rocks.
I try to cover everything - I think people just fly through stuff to get a video up. Honestly, its why I waited so long to start posting tutorials. I wanted to be able to understand the new game before I just started spouting stuff off without knowing.
@@kingarthursims thanks for the reply! I just got the mod there, had another look at the video and didn't realise you say it's a mod. Thanks for all the tutorials, you've really helped!
Just started logging couple days ago got a telehander loading full trees into a trailer and a dolly leading to my truck to pull 3026$ a tree some corners hard to turn but making it works about 55,000 a load
What do you think about a series that your fans would send you their save-s and mods and you would present they farm with them in mp,talk about equipment economy etc. I think thats a good idea. What do you think?
That has actually been suggested before (back during 15) I think its a really good idea - its more a matter of setup time - but maybe soon I will be able to do something like that.
I work in a sawmill and i load logs for the mill. We use a front loader with just 6' long pallet forks. I can load logs up to 35' with just the forks. Its soooo much easier in real life!
I just got the game for the logging and I really loved the video it was really fun to watch. Does the platinum edition with the Big BUD package ad something new to the logging operations?
@@kingarthursims must be because your on pc. I'm plating on console. Also just wondering the scorpion king keeps popping off trees. It won't even try to cut them at all. I can't get any of the front end cutters (besides skidsteer) to cut. I wonder if it's me or just the game on a console?
Silage Bales because the market price doesn't fluctuate, so you can sell as many as you like without crashing the market, AND grass grows for free so its an unending source of income
Greetings from an x dairy farmer from Norway! Just subbed to your channel and wanted to thank you for the entertainment. Keep up the good work! *Edit I've watched all (yes all) your tutorials (for entertainment purposes with my family) and one thing that you could/should do is say which button you press. Like in the beginning of this video you use the chainsaw but neglect to mention how to activate it etc. (just a friendly tip).
Well, the downside is that the buttons are different between PC, console, and "other" setups, so button press information changes depending on your setup. That is why I don't do it. I am very glad you are enjoying the content. I have a blast making it for the most part.
11:30 definitely unrealistic. The small tree would have weighed enough to push the implement into the ground, lifting the rear or the skidster into the air
What you were cut with the Bob cat was a fellow buncher there used with back hoes it attached to back hoes for cutting trees swamp loggers use the and in the swamp that cut the trees and piel them up and make a road to drive on so that don't sink in the swamp then after all logs are cut that start from the back with the loader and bring them out
Hey Arthur, I just got farming sim 17, what do you recommend I start out with? Such as logging mining, etc. By the way, I enjoy your videos a lot, I also learn a lot too.
Here is a video to help answer that question - AND add some log forks for your tractor so you can do some logging - th-cam.com/video/uLf9zQHgsb8/w-d-xo.html
Pretty easy - Use the mowing attachment and the krone Agroliner trailer on the back. You will get grass. Then take that grass to the silage bunker and use "force dump" to dump it. It will turn to chaff magically. Keep filling it until you are done mowing it. Then you compress it and cover it overnight. You will have silage tomorrow.
I don't care what anyone says Arthur, I think you are a fantastic parent who is incredibly patient especially given the fact that you have so many little ones running around. You still find the time and energy to put out some great content that is both informative and fun to watch.
Thank you for all you do

glad it helped Danial!
Great tutorial and gameplay. I liked the recommended equipment at the beginning.
Glad to be able to help Super!
I am a logger and while the cutters we use are larger and handle up to 4 or 5 full sized pines at a time yes they do get carted around short distances by the cutter. Btw you start the blade and close the jaws as you "hit" the tree.
26:23 thanks man. It's a nightmare for me to picking up the log with tractor. Finally found the right way
51:36 the reason why the rest weren't selling is because the tension belt was still holding the logs in place
You are my favorite FS17 TH-camr ever
Thank you Noah!
I will do that eventually.
liking your videos kinda glad you told us that wood chipping is in the next video. because thats what im doing at the moment. thankyou.
Glad I could be of service, and Glad you enjoyed the video.
A little tip for loading the ITR-woodcontainer with tractor and front loader: Don't cut the tree first. Take it and lift it into the container so that it touches the containers front side and then before letting it fall in cut the overstanding exactly at the end of the container. So you don't have to guess the length. ;)
haha - After playing this game for 5 years and i never once thought of that (facepalm). Thanks for the tip - I will definitely do that in the future.
The cheapest method is the pickup truck and the chainsaw. Cut the tree so that the tree falls into the bed. Use the tension straps.
the cool thing about the equipment in farm simulator they usually use the correct brand and model for the equipment so you can look the real counterparts of the game. so if you think something isn't realistic it's only a keyboard away.
Ikr - it is such a great game!
It's way easy to operate this cranes with a fly stick like Logitech Freedom or something similar
Just as he said the manitou was the worst a manitou ad appeared. Great video btw
lol - smart ads :)
I was here at 1k subs and now at 20k subs I'm amazed your channel has grown keep it up Arthur
*I mean I'm amazed it's grown so fast*
I am too - I can't hardly believe how big its getting. I am super jazzed :)
See I can cut the trees just fine and clean them up. But the log forks do not load like they should. It pushes the logs around instead of sliding under the log to be grabbed and put on a trailer
Yeah, you have to aim the grabber straight down to get them. Kinda unrealistic.
I found a log grab with strapps and it makes the process so much faster.
Oh, that would help for sure!
Yup - the logs stay solid in the trailer.
I am so glad for this. I love throwing them in with my hands. So much easier than using the crane, for me anyways. And the trailers are awesome. I tried in 15 but the tops of the trailers have invisible barriers for logs in 15. They just roll off the top. For consoles anyways. Thanks :)
Yeah - it made the game way better - its funny how a little change like that can make such a difference.
You help me out a lot Arthur! Thanks buddy!
Glad to hear it.
You're in Cleveland? Cool, I was living there a couple years ago. I'm a country boy though, moved out after 2 years lol. In port Clinton for the moment, but I think I'm gonna have to drive to Cleveland to work. That's the one great thing I like about Cleveland, there's money to be made
Yup - I am just over an hour South now - I am a city boy that hates the city lol. Port Clinton is beautiful Just did a drone project up there.
J.C.B Has a factory here in N.C. its really nice. Great videos man. One I can just watch and enjoy. Cool
Glad you enjoyed it Travel Man!
At 15:53 you said you didnt get tracks for the scorpion are the treds better than wheels
For game purposes, they make no differences. In real life I am sure the tracks give better traction
The farm tractor has another grappler as well.
And it works better imo.
It cost a little more. It think the one
is $600 and the better is $1200.
Great video, when I saw fs17 on steam I thought it was a joke but woah turns out it’s an awww game ! Thanks for the awesome content too
You are very welcome!
Just got FS17 last night for my xbox one. Great video and got a sub and thumbs us from me helpping me out loads :)
Glad to be of service Luke!
I've just started playing easy mode and I went the growing grass, round baleing then wrapping the bales. Each one sells for 5,800 dollars. But I'm tired of doing the same thing over and over. Maybe this would be a nice change. Thanks for sharing.
Glad to be of service. I get bored of baling too lol.
Arthur Chapman Well after 4 hours.. I finally got one trailer full of wood. Earned roughly 30,000 dollars. But OMG! I CANT TAKE THE FRUSTRATION!!! LOL Holy Cow I LOVE BAILING!! 😀
I just love your video’s and I don’t mind your children either
Well thank you Andrew!
Great vid!!
I'm a lumberjack oh yes I am!!
Glad you liked it :)
14:43: Can a trailer with its own crane system be hitched to the scorpion king?
Specifically, the Stepa system that you demo at 38:41 with Steyr tractor. Could the Stepa be connected to the Scorpion King instead of the tractor?
No, because the Scorpion King does not have a Power Take Off to power the crane.
It's called three point linkage for the arms to hold implements on the back, the yellow thing you see appear is called a P T O. Power take off.
That Stepa FHL 13 AK, I think maybe it's supposed to be used a bit differently? I tried it out, and was able to use it semi efficiently (given I'm fairly newb at the game and even more newb with an xbox controller; trying to *not* use keyboard and mouse for once :P).
* Cut down a tree and clean it off, but *don't* cut it into pieces
* Back the trailer so it points toward the bottom of the tree
* Then extend the arm as far as you can, grab the end of the tree, and then drag the tree onto the trailer
* Release, extend, and keep pulling until the tree touches the end of the trailer (usually just takes two pulls)
* When it touches the end, release, extend fully and grab onto the tree again
* Then jump off, split the tree *behind* the hook, so that the loose part will fall down into your trailer, and the hook still holds the rest of the tree
* Then jump back in, pull the rest of the tree back into the trailer, rinse and repeat until the whole tree is in your trailer
What put me unto this idea, was that I discovered the trailer has a feature of sort of turning the whole trailer to align better with a tree (LB + RB + L-horizontal-axis on my controller).
That actually makes perfect sense, and works very well! Thank you.
I Have Been Trying For 5 Hrs To Pick Up Logs And Every Time I Buy A Log Loadeder It Doesnt Work Excatly What Model Do U Have Attacthed To The Tractor Can U Reply With The Exzcat Model Of All The Equipment U R Using
Wow, more than one video? Who would have thought that getting wood was such a lenghtly process.
Its more because of the amount of equipmen... Wait a minute - LEI BEHAVE
=D
I live all the inturuptions😂👍🏻 nice vid
hehe - Glad to hear it
Thank you by the way ive been playing since fs15 and i still havent explored logging and since i watch this i have made about 600,000$ in logging on fs17 thank you arthur👍🏻
Arthur, it is nice that as old as this video is, you still read and respond to comments and questions! Do you have a play thru or similar for any of the FS17 maps where you do mostly or entirely logging? Thanks.
I haven't done any logging in a while - I may do it on 19 soon. Once the season slows down and I have time to play more.
Hey ur an awesome guy...keep up the vids pls..
Glad it helped!
9:58 Great Tree suplex execution 😂😂😂
Lol
@@kingarthursims By the way, your FS19 video tutorials are great Sir. Keep it up 👍💯😁☺️
Man love the video like the kiddos bombing your video way better that way lol
There all growed up :(
Not a logger, but the skid steerers are extremely powerful IRL. they have a low center of gravity and hold all their weight low while having a lot of power for their size. Seems possible for a small tree to be held.
That makes sense
That one loader is for transporting logs when your Simi truck is back on the main road a far way from where your cutting. It's not ment as a main transport. Each machine has a different purpose for where your harvesting. How thick and dence the forest to how steep the hills are to giant rocks.
agree on frontloaders vs crane trailers, however to take the slow 230k crane unit faster use a low loader?
Will thee be a part 2 in the next week
Yes - I am gonna record part 2 this week.
Arthur Chapman great because your the only one who makes long videos that tell everything
I try to cover everything - I think people just fly through stuff to get a video up. Honestly, its why I waited so long to start posting tutorials. I wanted to be able to understand the new game before I just started spouting stuff off without knowing.
I know I'm years late to the party. But what is the trailer that can lower onto the floor? Is it a mod? I can't seem to find it in the store
AH the IT runner - yes, in 17 it was a free mod.
@@kingarthursims thanks for the reply! I just got the mod there, had another look at the video and didn't realise you say it's a mod. Thanks for all the tutorials, you've really helped!
How many trees must be cut before it will allow you to plant new ones?
None - you can plant trees whenever you want
@@kingarthursims When I try to plant trees I get a yellow message that says " There are too many trees cut some and try again."
Auto load buffalo and auto load log trailer is a MUST!
Kid was amazed 😂😂
Just started logging couple days ago got a telehander loading full trees into a trailer and a dolly leading to my truck to pull 3026$ a tree some corners hard to turn but making it works about 55,000 a load
So if I cut a tree down and grind the stumps, a new tree won't grow automatically so I will have to plant saplings, right?
Yeah, once its down, stump ground or not, its gone.
Thank you much! Good videos by the way!
I just bought this game for my pc and wanted to plan a head of time to make bigger fields and place my hay barns in places where trees are
oh haha, that would be bad if they regrew :)
Witch steering wheel do you use
Its a very old Logitech Momo Driving Force setup. I use a Microsoft Sidewinder 3D pro for the joystick controls.
+Arthur Chapman ok
What map are you on in this video
Sosnovka - its the other default map
What do you think about a series that your fans would send you their save-s and mods and you would present they farm with them in mp,talk about equipment economy etc. I think thats a good idea. What do you think?
That has actually been suggested before (back during 15) I think its a really good idea - its more a matter of setup time - but maybe soon I will be able to do something like that.
You can cut sideways with the stump grinder
I work in a sawmill and i load logs for the mill. We use a front loader with just 6' long pallet forks. I can load logs up to 35' with just the forks. Its soooo much easier in real life!
Sounds like it, plus spatially its probably easier to see what you are doing.
Hey bud, don't the jbc have a boom extend like the logging thing has
Awesome video! I learn much from your videos!!
Thx.
Quick question..
Does the scorpion cut the biggest trees as well?
Yes, but only if they are the "tall straight" trees - like pine trees. None of the cutters can do the curvy trees
I just got the game for the logging and I really loved the video it was really fun to watch.
Does the platinum edition with the Big BUD package ad something new to the logging operations?
Neither the Platinum edition, nor the Big Bud DLC add any logging stuff. You will need to add mods for additional logging equipment. Hope that Helps!
Yeah it helps thank you very much !
That is a feller buncher on a skid steer, lol... Those are normally on an excavator chassis...
How did you change the contrast to black?
I didn't? I have everything set to default
@@kingarthursims must be because your on pc. I'm plating on console. Also just wondering the scorpion king keeps popping off trees. It won't even try to cut them at all. I can't get any of the front end cutters (besides skidsteer) to cut. I wonder if it's me or just the game on a console?
I haven't played much on Xbone, I will have to try it out and see. Seems to work fine on PC.
Thank you very much..Challenger 77 is right, you make great vids.
Around the ~8 minute mark: "Woah!!!"

I was subscriber number 45 000 yesterday
Oh wow! Thanks for the sub Jakob - you get a shout out in my next tutorial (The Right Mix - Feeding tutorial for FS 19)
Hello, do we need to reach a particular level to unlock the looging feature ?????
Nope - no levels in Farm sim. Just money (or lack thereof, lol).
@@kingarthursims yes but on the basic map, (and Ive 99999999 $) I can't buy the places with trees
What is the most profitable crop?
Ah, I didn't think of consoles and custom setups. Happy farming!
You too my friend!
What map is that?? Looks good for forestry
Its just the default "sosnovka" map that is included with the game.
@@kingarthursims okay thx
37:00 (for personal notes)
11:30 definitely unrealistic. The small tree would have weighed enough to push the implement into the ground, lifting the rear or the skidster into the air
Yup, that is what I thought too.
Maybe an old video but it still helps and I am still playing this on my Switch❤
I still play 17 on my switch too lol. Still a great game.
@@kingarthursims I agree I haven’t upgraded to the lastest one yet. May reason Switch Players cannot walk around like we can on 2017.
What you were cut with the Bob cat was a fellow buncher there used with back hoes it attached to back hoes for cutting trees swamp loggers use the and in the swamp that cut the trees and piel them up and make a road to drive on so that don't sink in the swamp then after all logs are cut that start from the back with the loader and bring them out
Can you please help me with skid steer cutter and tractor tree saw ,arthur at 7:42 and 6:42
Hey Arthur, I just got farming sim 17, what do you recommend I start out with? Such as logging mining, etc. By the way, I enjoy your videos a lot, I also learn a lot too.
Here is a video to help answer that question - AND add some log forks for your tractor so you can do some logging - th-cam.com/video/uLf9zQHgsb8/w-d-xo.html
Can you please help me with forage harvesters mowing, Arthur?
Pretty easy - Use the mowing attachment and the krone Agroliner trailer on the back. You will get grass. Then take that grass to the silage bunker and use "force dump" to dump it. It will turn to chaff magically. Keep filling it until you are done mowing it. Then you compress it and cover it overnight. You will have silage tomorrow.
@@kingarthursims I have a amazone profihopper mod
