What do you think of Ollie's new Canyon Aeroad CFR? 🧐 Let us know in the comments below! 💬
Fantastic bike… however not much change I guess from £10,000
stupid choice, good luck with CP0018 cockpit with weak interface and proprietary
New Pinarello and new Aeroad? Someone has been good boy recently...And thank you Canyon for some colour for a change.
He has indeed, but if I'm going to be jealous of anyone, it's Andy(😂). He just got all those new Park tools in a rolling case!
I recall Ollie's face, and disappointment, when presented with the matt black Pinarello recently. Look at his little face now, bless him! 😍
Totally deserves a deeper set of wheels!
That purple looks amazing. Enjoy Ollie.
thanks pal!
@@oliverbridgewood3929 Very TVR son ! Nice bike ....
How much is that build ? 🤔
So much nicer than the boring black Pinarello!
One of these days I'd like to carry a coffee in the background as Ollie is showing everyone a new bike. 😀
and wave at the camera too!
Dream bike, but I'd have to sell my guitars or get a presenter's job at GCN to own one. It would be interesting to see this £10-12k CFR pitted against Canyon's current lowest priced Aeroad (4-5k) and a 2nd hand but similar weight Aeroad from 5-6 years ago (1-2k). Not sure if Canyon would allow this (esp against a 2nd hand bike) but it would be great to see the results. Make it happen guys.
Bike is sick, love the color and appreciated the breakdown on why certain selections were made.
I also just want to point out the obvious and say that I thoroughly appreciate the fact that Ollie is a car guy and manages to work that in to a lot of his segments. Also love the donut sticker on the laptop in the tech segments. Cool to see others with a similar set of interests.
"naturally, I'm going to tell you all about it..." I would like to see someone try stop you 😂. It's a stunning bike, and your enthusiasm for this bike and really all bikes is infectious. Great work.
Deeper wheels would have suited the Aeroad much better! 50mm minimum for that aero frame, aesthetically around 60mm even, especially on a Large frame
Congratulations on the new bike Ollie 🥳 I have also just bought a new bike. Canyon Aeroad CFR with Zipp 454 and SRAM Red. Have upgraded to SRAM Red rainbow cassette and chain 😁 I bought it in matt black with green decals that change color in the sun. Very happy with it so far. Will send it in to the bike vault when GCN finally manage to get it working 😆
try the uploader, you may be surprised! 😜
Although not my style (I'm a retro grouch) I must acknowledge that the paint on that Canyon is majestic. Also, you're pushing some big gears there Ollie, holy cow haha. Super nice to you 👍🔔
Ollie's aero bikes always had huge gears. But he always had the legs for them anyway
Sick looking bike, it reminds me a bit of the newest Cervelo Soloist. Also, those chainring sizes, dang, throw a 12-23 cassette and we've circled back to 1990s gearing lol.
Thanks Dr O and crew....wow, beautiful color ! And....it's the rider
Beautiful Ollie, enjoy!
Stunning bike! Bravo Canyon....
These comments complaining are on most GCN videos. I don't believe people are making them in good faith, they must view the video just to give out. They constantly give out about sponsorship, advertisements and cost. They are just being contrarians and enjoying their gotcha moment. I, like most people, know what GCN are and aren't. Just watch it for what it is, entertainment, sometimes informative, that relies on sponsorship. Again like most people, I will never be able to purchase a pro-level bike like this, but if canyon want to give Ollie a freebie, then 👍
Congrats Ollie! Have fun in your new ride!!
Video idea: Ollie’s bike stable. Let’s see all of Ollie’s bikes! Plus, it will make the sponsors happy and all the pedants in the comments really mad 😆😎
Outstanding bike review 👌🏼😍 YES love the colour
Didn’t Ollie just get 2 new bikes? The Pinerello and the Orbea?
cant have enough bikes
Yes I thought that! At least this one is a nice colour
N+1😉
@@willhardy9731I prefer the Spinal Tap version. N+11. Go big, or go home.
i dream i was Ollie
#askgcntech Ollie mentioned he puts 80ml of sealant in his 28mm tire. Most brands recommend half of that. Does more only add weight or also rolling resistance?
Beautiful bike. I’d like to see a performance comparison video between this CFR and Ollie’s lighter Ultimate CFR. Climbing, TT times under same watts and such.
Yes, I would also love to see this. I have an Ultimate and struggle now between Ultimate and Aeroad, in exactly Ollies build ;-)
Giant has been doing the lever trick for the wheels for years . Good to leave the tool on the rear wheel to save the frame when you crash learned from experience .
Unfortunately, due to quality control and customer service problems with Canyon on a previous bike, I'm just not sure I could purchase another one from the company. That said, the Aeroad is visually my favorite bike on the market. It doesn't hurt that it was designed in part by Swiss Side as well. Thanks for sharing, Ollie.
congrats on your new bike Ollie!
i LOVE that color 😍 have fun with it!
Stunning bike, lovely colour. I'm sure it's a dream to ride 🚲
Ollie use the New Giant Propel bottle cages (different cage for downtube and seattube) and they make it even more aero and fill the gaps almost between downtube and bottle. I got these on my Aeroad CFR in the same color ;)
What an amazing looking bike!! Great Color.
Oh my! Enjoy!
That bike, that paint. Congrats!
beauty isn't it?!
Man! We're running the same tire setup, love the SLs and tubeless!
Absolute dream bike😍
I would go for that colour too, looks amazing, have fun! 🙂
Very nice, and Mathieu has verified it can do it all very well.
Enjoy!
Absolutely beautiful paint job. Seems like it would serve double duty. Understated stealth and pop in the sun
That is an awesome bike. Id love to see a video to compare the speed to other bikes you rode.
Also. The price difference youl paid to gain that extra speed.
Bloody amazing bike and I enjoyed the tour:)
Love the colour - SUPER NICE - DING DING DING.
🔔🔔🔔
Totally mesmorized , talk bikes to me all day long Ollie, love your new bike 😍
I literally today rode 100k on my new Aeroad CF SLX 8 for the first time. Couldn't be happier for the both of us ❤🎉
🤗
Bikes from the middle of Germany - awesome 🤩
Lovely looking bike, proud owner. Thanks for mentioning your saddle choice too, I've been contemplating trying something else as my own Selle Italia SLRs are starting to give me issues. Was thinking of something with a cut out. I have a Vitus Vitesse in similar colour and looks sublime in the sun.
What a beautiful great bike ❤I love the color❤❤❤
That bike is literally my dream bike
What a weapon. And the bike 😉
That's a great look bike Ollie.
I think the Orbea orca omx is your nicest bike, Oli. something about the high seat stays. This is still a gorgeous bike
Hang on…the last GCN video I saw,was when Ollie went to see Mr Pinarello for his new bike!!
Shouldn't this be labeled as infomercial?
canyon are one of our channel sponsors that make what we do possible. we are really open about this and its listed below. But perhaps, because it’s so obvious to me, i’ve forgotten it might not be so obvious to others. I will remember to make it clearer next time 👍🏼
@@oliverbridgewood3929it might be obvious to you since you're in the industry, but l'm sure a lot of consumers aren't even aware that this channel has any sponsors.
At least they are honest about it these days. But its not the journalism I would
like to see. Biased newspapers are also not independant journals but still we
read them and apply internal filters for info.
@@dennishinze9578 I mean Canyon is listed as their sponsor in the video description, they are not exactly hiding it.
The whole channel is an infomercial
Love the paint!
beauty isn't it!?
What a beautiful piece of 'bicycle engineering'. Nice work Ollie, looking forward to hearing how it rides and any mods you try out on it.
Waxed chain was the first mod!
I‘ve got the same bike. It‘s awesome in every way!
Got my CF 8 SLX Ultegra '24 a few days ago. Great bikes 😁
Dark navy Blue? That was the one I tried to buy but couldn't find the cash in time.
That bike looks soooooo good!!!!!
what's your favourite bit about it?
Trek Rail mtbs have had a detachable axle lever feature for a few years now. Nice to see it taken up for road bikes.
So beautiful! Great color and choice Ollie! 🎉 I Love that we get some insight on what bikes GCN 😮 purchase for themselves ❤ so coooll!
Congrats
I have a question about the chainring and cassette. Is there a big difference when you ride the standard 36 in front and 30 in the back on a hill instead of the 40 front 34 in the rear. I am wondering if the 40/34 setup is better for steep climbs. I can ride almost everything with the 36/30 setup but on steep climbs it’s a vo2max Intervall for me everytime 😂
Congrat's!
I need this i love the color
TSK, you bastard, my favorite color, now im jealous of you!
Congrats on your NBD 😎
I have the Aeroad CFR Tokyo.
Just need a few more things for it to be built and ride-ready!
That purple is striking nonetheless. Nice
I very much like CFR Tokyo 😵💫👍
You would. Lol. I love these. Good choice Ollie ❤, I still have an endurace in the stable
I'm deciding between this and Orca Aero, which Ollie used to have. Which one is better?
great bike, Ollie, congrats!! One question, did they keep the stepped seat post to make it more compliant, or is it the same profile all the way through?
I got the previous SLX version and love it. I had some problems with seatpost noise, but that went away when I applied some really gooey grease to the frame seal. The bike shipped with a very thin white grease that you were supposed to use there, but it was useless. cheers, Eckhard
A wonderful bike, of course....👌😍🚴♂️
Kyllä kelpais!🤩
Great review - I have been wanting an aero bike for some time after buying an ‘ultimate’ type of lighter climb bike last summer. Just ordered the Canyon Aeroad CFR AXS with the latest SRAM Red in the stealth colour with green logo. Very excited.
Only doubt - will the aggressive frame be too demanding for my back? How have you experienced the move from the Canyon Ultimate to the Aeroad in terms of comfortable?
Thanks - and greetings from Copenhagen!
I didn’t know my Axel lever was removable!!! Thanks Olie!!!
Ollie the educator! Happy to help!
Another great video. Enjoy your new bike! How did Manon's 6 weeks of zone 2 go haven't heard much about it.
Bike looks amazing, but I have always been told I need to remove the di2 battery when taking my bike on a plane and carry in hand luggage. You mentioned that you need to remove the crank and bottom bracket to replace the battery. How does this work if you want to fly with it as seems like a lot of effort?
Those canyon thru-axles remind me of dt swiss rws axles/qr's. Neat to see the adjustable bars for width too. I would probably fit on that bike, which is neat.
I considered getting this one but they're often out of stock and the colorways are wack (sorry Ollie) so I went with the Colnago V4Rs instead.. and what a machine it is! I couldn't be happier! 😎
Nice bike ollie..modern aero bike
That is a one sick bike and color
Amazing looking bike. Just curious, you did mention your saddleheight. What is your saddle to top of bars drop?
Looks brilliant!!! 😍 I can only guess it rides great as well. 😃 I stay a gravel bike freak, though. 😉
Dreambike!
Hi Ollie ! It is none of my business , you bought it with your own money , God Bless ! REAL NICE !! CLASS. !!!
I still riding an Aeroad CF F10 from 2014 Stealth edition ❤
That'll go well with your new pinarello.
Didn’t Ollie just get a new Pinerello? I am jealous!!
That's pretty!
What a BEAUTIFUL BIKE. I would love to ride a bike like yours just to see what it feels like. I just don't want to pay for it. Have fun Olie!
What does it look like through polarized glasses? I have been startled on occasion by cars with these types of paint changing surprisingly in color depending on the light.
I’m interested in hearing about the decision making process on the size. What size did the Canyon fitting tool on line put you in?
I’m a “tweener” (between two sizes).
Smaller size means less reach.
Bigger size means less drop.
Most people are going smaller these days, but the bigger frame was better for me with a shorter stem.
Is there anything you want to do in terms of the powermeter or are you planning on sticking with the stock dura ace one?
Suspect he'll have to because they are sponsored by Shimano (which we know have awful power meters).
Savage 🔥
Which handlebar tape is your favorite? Will you swap out the stock Canyon tape?
Awesome bike and great video! Cheers!
I'm curious if the 160/160 rotors feel much different then a 160/140 mix. I know Shimano usually spec the staggered set up, and Sram almost always the matching set up. Curious if you notice any differences Ollie.
I just got my aeroad slx 8 a few weeks ago, favorite bike ever! Enjoy
Nice bike ! I am curious about the impact of a larger frame size to comfort on longer rides.
9:03 just wondered whether, if you remove the stem spacers, that wouldn't mean lowering the saddle height (as your foot doesn't reach as high up), not increasing it?
Interesting that the chainrings are headed back up, I rode a 53/42 as a junior into Cat 2 as that what my lugged steel Trek came with. Also pushed a 11-18 rear block but I lived in a very flat area and was young and stupid. Amazed my knees are still attached.
nice RIDE
My next bike build will be this color. Don't care what it is. Going to go with Nissan's Midnight Purple III. Nice bike, Ollie!
Very nice
Very Nice
