I think it could be done in less than half the time. He definitely exaggerates the different processes to extend the runtime and ASMR effect.

I don't know how I stumbled onto this channel but it was actually really cool watching you work. I used to do this for my father when he was in the Navy. I would get all of his shoes polished they would look like glass when I was finished. 😊

I used to shine my Papa’s shoes as well. It is so therapeutic! He loved it and complimented the work I did.
@@Sonia-ju6po Same here, since I was 9. I actually volunteered to do them. It was such a relaxing process and the outcome was so lovely that I didn't have to rotate the "duty" between my siblings :)
I love how Angelo inspects the boots just after cleaning the laces. Taking great care.
That part gives me the most ASMR sensations.

It’s amazing what can be done to bring good quality leather back to life using old school techniques. Hopefully new generations do not let these arts fall into memory. Beautiful work!
OMG why is this guy ruining those gorgeous boots?!?!?! He is subjecting those poor boots to irreversible damage... very unfortunate...it just shows that this guy doesn't know what he is doing, I mean one can tell that he is coming from a place of good-will, but that doesn't make it right! If you look into professional or shoe enthusiasts who own and care for their hand-made (sometimes even bespoke) leather shoes or boots, they will never ever subject them to such harsh treatment... they will use specific tools and products, most likely from Saphir.

I listened to a lot of ASMR and did not get goosebumps for a long time, but I can’t even imagine what listening and watching it causes such pleasure and goosebumps
Maybe because you never shined shoes yourself? For me, it's the care and attention to detail that gives me all the feels, not the sound.

ASMR gives tingles but it sometimes can be hard to achieve. Certain everyday tasks including shoe polishing inadvertently produce ASMR effects. A lot of people enjoy it while marveling at the guy's shoe polishing skill.

Did the color come out darker than you had intended? It seems like you kept trying to get the dye darker but the tips of the shoes are pretty dark now. They look a lot better than when you started but just curious if darker than you had intended

@@kentov1918 In germany shining your own shoes is the common way. Have not seen a shoe shiner in decades
It's a lot rarer, but luckily we still have kings of the shoe shine like this to keep the practice alive, because I love seeing it done, and would honestly have fun learning it as just a little hobby skill

I've always wanted my boots shined, this will do nicely 👌so satisfying and professional & seeing the repertoire of equipment involved. This is probably what Woody felt in Toy Story when the old man restored him.

I love the content. The final top down cross before the knot is awesome. If I might suggest though, as one the notices and appreciates minute details, maybe add something other than that the standard lacing as the “subtle” cherry on top of the beautiful art you’ve just performed.
