    For me it's the dual, and most importantly even and balanced stereo front facing speakers that keep bezels a selling point. Another thing that everyone on a phone without says they don't/wouldn't care about... but if they had it they'll be like damn that's so nice to have pretty much daily. IYKYK right?! High refresh is a lot like that too but I could live with 90 and especially be fine enough with 'just' 120hz.

      I can't stand that my otterbox case stops my fingers from reaching the edge of the screen. I need that ridge to keep it safe. But since the screen is right on the edge I can't reach stuff there. Give me a thicker phone with bezels. It's ok. I can handle it.

    • @riverpb5250
      @riverpb5250 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      yes! bezels do have a purpose, that's why some devices, such as, let's say, an external monitor for cameras are purposely designed with bezels so that 1. you can still hold it by the bezel, and 2. so that the bezels give the photographers/videographers a better sense of aspect ratio and framing since the borders around the screen acts like a frame and enables you to judge the image/video better.

      I had the ROG 2, and recently replaced it(broken screen fatality) with the ROG 6, and the thing that's actually got me hooked is low-key the side USB-C port. Not only does it mess with grip way less in both landscape and portrait, but you can actually charge and plug in a USB device at the same time. For example, transferring data from my ROG2 to my ROG6, I could plug the ROG6 in to charge, and then plug the ROG2 into the ROG6 for the data transfer, plus the ROG6 charged the ROG2 at the same time 😆

    • @sumanmondalrock
      @sumanmondalrock ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Considering I have the ROG 5, 6 was disappointing for me as it was almost the same device with a new generation chipset. And the straight jump of $180 from 5 to 6 in my country was shocking!!! I had expectations from ROG 7 to be an all rounder. But it turns out to be the same old device with latest snapdragon.
      People argue that it's a gaming phone so it doesn't matter if it has a B-grade camera. But that can't be an excuse to make the camera system better. Their own Zenfone series has a better camera system. Gamers can take photos too. All I could say is they could have added a telephoto lens and make the system good enough for day to day use for average people. I am not a big gamer, but I bought the ROG 5 because of the same extra features mentioned here and the huge battery too. Also the display is smooth but lags behind in terms of brightness and colour reproduction when compared to other flagships.

      @@sumanmondalrock Agreed I have rog5 too. ROG7 I guess has a much higher refresh, chipset and this new airvent but else it is the same old same old. Seeing the rooting support ROG3 has, the rog3 accessories; later rogphones have nothing. ROG3 has functioning desktop mode before samsung because of the twinview dock. ROG5 onwards no dual screen dock yet has broken twinview remnants from rog3 OS which actively destroys Android desktop mode in later rogphones. In someways ROG3 is better ignoring the single battery design and preliminary lack of 3.5mm without accessories.

    One thing I'm excited for with future phones is when you can buy a laptop shell for them. Imagine having your normal, powerful phone, then just popping it into a shell with a keyboard, display, battery for actual work. Kind of like Dex, but better. Ideally, it would let you dual boot android and an OS of your choice. But that'll have to wait until ARM gains more support in our standard OS'. Because honestly, phones like this are more than powerful enough to do what I'm talking about. That's why dex exists. It's just that they would be better if we could use full computer OS'.

    I had an ROG 5 and updated to the S22 Ultra when it came out. I can't even deny that I regret that decision. The battery in the ROG felt like it lasted forever, games felt really great with the triggers, and the phone itself just felt perfect for me. Sucks I'll be waiting a few years to hop back in. So what you also have to realize is that yes, it's a great gaming phone, but it's also a great phone. Like, this phone is better than most others as your normal daily phone too. Even just the battery charging customization options make it better than most other phones. I've had the ROG 5s for two years now, and I use it for hours every day and it's still as fast, and the battery still lasts as long, as the day I got it. It's just a beast. Also, I'm a gamer, so I use the cooling accessory when I game, but even for people who aren't that hardcore and just like to play some casual games, they're still going to get a better experience out of this phone than any other.

    Steady charging is still fast charging, according to what the display tells me when I plug in my ROG Phone 6. I can't tell much difference in charge time, it still charges extremely quickly. My guess is it just tapers off more at the low and high end of battery charge, but the largest chunk of the battery charge between 20-80% still charges at the fastest speed.

  • @BEG_2NO1

    Having a ROG Phone 6 has been pretty amazing so far. But that's also coming from a Razer Phone 2 to that. Almost any phone could have been a great update but I decided to stick with the gaming phone. And the 2-usb ports and aux jack has helped a lot more than you expect.
    My wife having the Pixel 7 Pro. The one issue she is having is only having that one USB port for charging and playing music. If ASUS decided to take away the aux port. It wouldn't make that match of a difference because you have 2 USB-C ports. Will I upgrade my 6 to the 7... probably not. But I will probably buy one of the later models in the future maybe around 9 or 10(if they keep going)
