Kai has a complicated family hahaha. His father is of German decent (a very tall blonde man) and his mother is korean. He was born in Hawaii but spent most of his young childhood in China (his father was a performer there). He technically has dual citizenship I believe because he would have been naturalized in Hawaii but he also inherits his mother's korean citizenship as well. His father was apparently born in Brazil too, though I don't think he shares any deep ancestry there. I was always under impression that his father was American (as in he has a US passport) but his last name, Huening, is German for sure. Oh an Kai has 2 sisters who are also musical protégés like him. His younger sister will be competing on Planet 999 this summer.

Like someone said below, Kai is Korean-Amercan but from his dad's side he is German. His dad lived in Brazil and Kai was born in Hawaii. However he only lived there for a few months or at most a year. Him and his family then moved to China and lived there for 7-8 years. Kai speaks multiple languages (Idk if he's fluent in all of them) such as Korean, Chinese, English, Portuguese, Japanese(I think), and German. Anyways loved the reaction. Looking forward to more.❤❤
