Freedom fighter Bhagat Singh's Haveli where he was born and lived a major part of his life is located near the city of Faisalabad, Pakistan. Two of the rooms have been preserved in their original condition. Bhagat Singh is still a hero for many Pakistanis and Indians and especially of sikhs. The house where Bhagat Singh used to live, now owned by Saqib Virk. UrduPoint anchor Usman Butt has taken us to visit the place. Bhagat Singh was a great personality as he sacrificed his life for freedom from British Empire.
There was no question of Pakistan as the resolution for division of India into Muslim and nonmuslim populations was passed in 1940 whereas Bhagat Singh was hanged in 1929. So we can say that Bhagat Singh was a freedom fighter for the whole of India as such we have respect for him and acknowledge his sacrifices.
This is my request that his residence should be declared as a museum and it should be properly maintained as a historic asset. It should be opened for all visitors oof Pakistan and foreign countries. An education or health system be launched in the name of Bhagat Singh in this area for a tribute to him and for his efforts. This will help the nation to understand the value of freedom and will create an enthusiasm to safeguard the freedom of Pakistan.
I salute Bhagat Singh and his family.
