I have to make one of these! Even more versatile than my old Eddie Bauer tripod that folded small enough to fit in my pocket! It had a long velcro strap so you could wrap it to a pole, or a tree, or whatever is handy. Great video!
I wish I had seen this video before our trip to Montreal. It would have made mounting my speedlight in an alley in Old Montreal a whole lot easier, and safer for the light!
Great video. I used a clamp to hold my reflector to a monopod and then attached a LED light to the mounting bracket to aim at the reflector for a continous light for video at a wedding reception for interviews. wasn't a harsh as the LED aimed at the people.
I've got my modified CST/berger surveyor's tripod pano rig posted on instagram (@raphael.swift). It's got a pacific laser 5/8"-11 female to 1/4-20 male adapter plate (Amazon) and a small handful of hardware to create an L bracket with non skid cork surfacing. Once I get through my current government sponsored disaster I'll see about making a video.
Sure enough, just as Joe posts this DIY, amazon's price nearly doubles for the 180°Swivel mount. The joys of capitalism: if they know you want it, they raise the price. If they know you don't care for their product, the price lowers.
Swivel Mount ? I am not sure which item you mean Garacha222. If you are referring to the Oben Ballhead - it is still the same price: amzn.to/2Ly1SNo and the Stand Adapter - there are several different ones available - amzn.to/2IRLNo4 ** Just be sure to get one with a removable cold shoe flash mount.
It was the stand adaptor link that went from $6 to $10 each. I found (as you point out) the version offering 2 for $15, so ordered a couple of those, as well as a single $10 one incase there is diffence in friction when angling them (some may have 'teeth' while others may have smooth surface), Also the picture makes one look like metal, while the other looks like hard plastic. I also picked up a couple of the extra large clamps (as well as regular size) at home depot. The extra large are very stiff, and will clamp hard to whatever the are attached to. Can't have too many options at this price :)

I'd throw some lockwashers, either split or tooth or some Loctite on those screws too.
