Rhythm is one of the topics when it comes to piano playing that has the most misconceptions.
[and where people make the most mistakes.]
But the cool thing about rhythmic patterns…is that….
There are PATTERNS.
Meaning, once you learn them once, you can take that information and apply it over and over and over again.
And in that way, rhythm is a huge area where you can really work SMARTER, not harder.
In today’s tutorial, I’m going to go over the 3 rhythmic patterns that most piano players mess up, and I’m going to show you exactly how to fix them.
If you practice with me during this tutorial, you’ll leave with a renewed sense of inherent rhythm…
And an idea of how to improve your rhythm skills in just a few minutes a day.🎹 Don’t miss out on a FREE opportunity to be a part of an incredible community of piano players and learn more techniques to help you practice smarter not harder - JOIN FOR FREE! / casualtoconfidentpiano...

Great information. I have struggled with rhythm since I began trying to play a guitar 12 years ago which naturally flows into every other musical instrument. I began learning keyboard about a year ago and once again the struggles continue.
Glad it was helpful! Welcome to the channel!
Yes that darn 16th note with an 🎵 note with a 16th ... very tricky to get right consistently!!! Love this tutorial!!!🙏🙏🙏
Right?! So tough! And awesome I’m glad to hear it!
Nice video with great ideas and helpful tips. Unfortunately, I think your notation on rhythm #1 (moving between eighth notes and triplets) is incorrect. You are counting eighth notes and eighth-note triplets, but the on screen notation is eighth notes and quarter-note triplets. Thanks for being an advocate for music education.
Ooooooof thank you for pointing that out! Silly error on my part!
I wish I could write the notation, but I'd really love a video about playing two eighth notes in the rhythm of a quarter note and an eight note as triplets. Hope this makes sense!
Hmmmmm like going between eighth notes and triplets?
I'm not at the piano but I watched anyway since I find you are THE best at teaching rhythm.
Very good tips and I can't wait to get to the piano....except I'm moderating my rhythm practice. I have an inner ear problem which is limiting the time I can practice. Technical exercises are less stressful, and these fit in well.
Thank you so much for saying so! I appreciate it :)
Well done and very helpful. So what else is new?
Good I’m glad to hear it! And so much ;) haha
I like the Spanish version and is like this tatamiralo tatamiralo tatamiralo tatamiralo and there you go.
Nice
How do you talk so fast?
Hahhaa this is me slowing it down! 😂
I know, I love the videos. I’m hearing impaired and my subtitles can barely keep up 😂😂
