The brotherhood of Northern Soul will live on forever!!.....intoxicating tunes like this give me a Soulgasm every time just back from the resurgence of the legendary Prestatyn Soul Weekender....fantastic to see the "Young Soulies"spinning away cast me back to when i was topless and sweatsoaked at 4am in Mr ms all those years ago!...thanks ever so much for posting this awesome tune.
Back in 73 i moved in a rented accommodation in Tunstall , on closer inspection under the stairs there were at least 50 copies of this, and walking hie duck .Wow a cellar full of soul, not quite , more like a bootleggers hoard. Lived healthy for months on my good fortune.
Absolutely One of the top Northern Soul Sounds of all time. The date sometime in the mid 70's, the place Wakefield Tiffanys west Yorkshire and the Dj playing the record was Rick Vaughan. Takes me back all those years and it's still as crisp as the first time I heard it Fred Ward Northern Soul Dj.
one of my all time favorites used to play it at Maxies in Gloucester Soul club thurs /Sunday nights 1970s , ramped up sound until the speakers would almost fall of the stage but had left the consul to dance so did not care ! Happy days .
greeat dance track, reminds me so much of the early days at wigan casino,i left when they started playing joe bloody 90 track and hawii five o theme tune.
being there sweating like a bastard at 3am in the morning, eyes a poppin', on the middle of the floor waiting for the next track to start..........and this comes on. Nothing else like it. Can't believe it was over 40 years ago.
@MrFedupwiththis Agree with you mate. Jumped around to this a bit in Tunstall. Trying to remember all the old Torch sounds and do a play list. Have a look look and keep the Golden Torch faith.
According to the sleeve notes on "The Record Collector Vol.1" released on the Destiny label. This was first played in 1972 by DJ Alan Day at the club "Up the Junction".
Is the sound quality any good on the record collector vol.1 any good? I got it on the mastercuts northern soul comp and the sound quality is dreadful - can't understand how they got it so wrong as all the youtube versions are much better
@@vernondavis7077 To be honest I can't remember. My vinyl player needs repairing and I hadn't played it for sometime but I don't remember any negative thoughts about it. There is also a great version of "There's nothing else to say " by Cassieta George on it.
