Do yourselves a favor and go search for Rosetta Tharpe. She easily belongs where she is on that list. Honestly, Chuck Berry should be rated lower than her. . She invented Chuck Berry's sound 10 years before him. That's probably one of the few people who were on this list where they should be. Al Di Meola also didn't make the list, which is insane.

I'm not a fan of Dream Theater, but John Petrucci was also missing.

Hey guys great video and discussion. There are 2 huge issues with this list not only the people they left off which there are many who absolutely should be on here like Tommy Emmanuel. Gary Moore, Guthrie Govan, Alan Holdsworth to name but a few but the order of the players on here is also a total mess. First of all Andy Summers at 250 is a huge insult he should be in the top 100 without a second thought considering how influential he is and his guitar parts are legendary on at least 4 songs at this point (Roxanne. Walking on the Moon. Message in a Bottle, Every Breath you Take). Second Peter Green at 62? and John Mayer is higher than him? there is no way, he is top 50 for sure. He is arguably the best blues player of his time and was as close to BB King in terms of feel and style anyone ever got to except Peter could also play some amazing rock music, not to mention the rock he did play was ahead of its time and extremely influential especially the song the Green Manilishi which is basically a proto metal song from 1968.. Check out his guitar work on the Then Play on Fleetwood mac album, and his time John Mayall and the blues breakers and Fleetwood Mac live at the Boston Tea party, you will really appreciate how great a player he was. These are just 2 I have serious issues with so goes to show how much a mess it is.

Hank Marvin should be in there somewhere he influenced, most of the great british guitarists, he was a guitar hero in the early 60s in Britain as we got rock and roll much later in Britain, Brian may, Mark Knophler, Jimmy page, Jeff Beck and other have cited him as an influence Brian may even covered the shadows FBI and Mark Knophler 's first guitar was a red strat copy because he wanted it to be like Hank' s.

Chaps, given some of the people you’re saying you’ve never heard of, I’m not sure you’re the best two to be reviewing this list…

Alexi not being on there at all automatically null and voids it. Or Sean Lane. Paul Gilbert not being there is insane. Not even for his shredding.

Best way to stick it to RS, is to not talk about any of their garbage lists, this one included. Stop talking about them, don’t buy their garbage magazines, stop supporting RS completely. They're irrelevant in the world of real music. They care about image, and being politically correct. I hate RS and everything they stand for.

While for the most part I agree with you about the list, you gentlemen need to do tons more research about guitar history in general. You have so many factual inconsistencies it hurts to listen to you.

Gary moore should be number 1 and Dave murry should be way higher.
