Just for anyone here to comment on the AI, Charlie has the difficulty wayyy down. The difficulty customisation is pretty advanced in the game and you can go from blind and deaf nazi’s to nazis with super detection.
and you can see in real time why a lot of people aren't paying hand over fist for the game, im so surprised more studios haven't been shut down this year. too many people don't deserve a job

I think it’s great, dumb AI aside. I have been playing it on hard which isn’t actually that hard so maybe veteran would be a good option. It nails the Indiana jones feel, also the bad guys were always dumb in those movies anyways.
It makes sense. Everything else in this game seems fantastic. So a bit of bad AI won't have people trashing it. But when you make a terrible game like Redfall, where everything is crap, people will trash on everything they see wrong with it. But here, it gets a pass, which is fair.
@@whiskii Bc you shouldn't just turn the game default to hard, you need to go into the settings and play on custom. There you turn up or down the detection speed, the agro level, the number of ranged enemies and even how much they shoot at you. The default difficulty on the main menu only scales how much damage enemies can do, and how much damage you can do. I'm not sure people are actually digging into the sub-minus?
I fully recognize that this is not GOTY material. But in terms of just getting lost and having fun in a game, I enjoyed this one the most out of everything in 2024
This is definitely GOTY material. It's not just a silly action game, the puzzles and exploration are actually really well done. There's so many secrets you stumble across, and the puzzles actually feel rewarding.

Nice bait with the difficulty set to zero and wearing a disguise, i was on hard and immediately upon starting combat i got shot at by ~10 guys and died only killing ~4(my first and last large scale battle with enemies that had guns till i got the book that gives health on takedown)

He has the difficulty set lower the higher the difficulty the smarter they get. Plus when he's throwing the hammer before he's in a disguise so they won't say anything in that area until attacks them.
I have a glitch with this game where the letter “P” is replaced with the “X Button” everytime and it’s broken the control system so I can’t do certain things

If I release The Elden Ring on the exact same day as TGA 2023 do you think it can still won GOTY of 2023? Oh surely they’ll have a emergency meeting on stage and review the game live, and invite the nominees on the spot, sure

AI in the original Halo was really advanced, the enemies never got stuck or were stupid enough to follow you like this, they stayed in cover, they wouldn't mindlessly run at you unless it was the grunts. How could this be so bad? 25 years later ? And its maybe worse than a 90s nintendo game, the enemies get stuck and move like they did in the side scrolling games like double dragon and final fight.
It's not really the best comparison since the ai in Halo are much more strictly designed. They're essentially kept on a leash such as "patrol this area" "stick here when in combat" "push up when x amount of enemies die". The moment you play in a way the devs didn't intend the Halo ai basically stops functioning. It's why the speedruns in Halo can be so consistent, cause the ai works on extremely predictable triggers the majority of the time. Not saying the ai in this game is good, but a more fair comparison would be say ai in the elder scrolls and fallout games where ai was designed in a much less strict way (and were still arguably better despite being pretty dumb)
I feel like game mechanics get dumbed down for the average audience. I mean I've seen young people play older games only to be complaining that they don't know where to go because there are no quest marks and a map telling them where to go.
I've been saying this for years, the current-age games are a complete joke. Aboslutely nothing that hasn't been done 10 times a decade ago. Yet these games are more expensive than ever, and some you can't even play on launch. Never did i have this issue growing up. And that's weird bc back in 1990-2000 these weren't that advanced. Yet these modern studios can barely produce a game that plays on launch. Some (looking at your BL3) required a 35 gigabyte "patch" a week after it was released.

The difficulty options in the game are extremely customizable to the point you can basically stand in front of them and not be detected, or be spotted behind a truck in Egypt by a guy in the Vatican there are presets and the presets are great but you can find your own sweet spot.
TLOU2 for sure has the best AI nowadays, they flank, communicate using each others names, can hear when you've run out of a clip, have dogs that follow your scent. It honestly feels like killing real dudes. It's great. Understand a lot of people don't like the story direction but skip that shit and its a marvel in AI design
The AI in the game is pretty good when you turn the settings to be that way. Top commenter made that clear and Gameranx also talked about it a bit on their review. Only real issue with the AI is the pathing can be a little jank

Because Halo didn't have anything on the ground. It was just grass and hills. Much easier to move around.
