I have watched tons of truck videos, I appreciate how you have no music no extra baloney just good footage . Good job 👍🏼 My 01 Sierra has 275k runs like a champ
It amazes me the deals you find on Silverados. I have not been able to find one around here (AL) for anywhere near that cheap. Like what you did with the truck, it turned out great.
Nice job! It's amazing what some sweat equity and a few hundred dollar bills can do to a truck someone else was willing to give up on. I'm currently going thru these paces on my 2003 rcsb 4.8. Nice driver!
Just finished the exact drop in my 03 ext cab. Spindles & cut exactly 1 coil off the top. Same wheel/tire combo with drop shocks. My front tires are rubbing pretty hard I’m having to roll my fenders tomorrow. Did yours rub ? Looks like I’m tucking the same amount of tire as in the pics so I’m right at the same height
Looking into the same drop on my 05 extended cab 5.3. Im going with the Belltech kit and shocks. Currently its all stock besides 20" wheels. I was wondering if you had any rubbing issues full lock or turning over bumps/into parking lots, etc? I have a 265/50/20 right now and wondering if they will rub like crazy. Trying to avoid having my fenders rolled and messed up.
new subscriber here, may i make a suggestion? install a corvette servo/super servo trans go shift kit, install a 3400 stall converter, add a baby cam nothing too fancy and get it tuned for catalytic converter delete and higher rpms and faster shift points. its cheap here in houston texas and i swear to you it makes a hell of a difference. the launches are amazing and you get a stiffer shift every time and can make the tires bark entering second and sometimes third gear.... loads of fun. love your video by the way!!!
Nice truck I have a 01 single cab looking to do the front drop spindles and do a notch I already have the flip kit installed would I need to buy a 2 piece drive shaft or can I still run the original??
Ive been putting off doing mine for a long time even tho I have had the parts sitting around in boxes. Guess I need to get it done so there can be one more red ECSB cateye running around with a 4/6! Did you have to cut the underbed cross member above the hogs head on the rear end?
Yeah.... I'm wondering the same thing. I remember you mentioning the new rear shocks with brand name but you never said anything about the front shocks.
What year/model truck did the new wheels come off of? Id like to find a similar 6 lug set for mine! Truck looks great with the kit and wheels on it. Nice job
@@RustyDuckGarageI heard people said cutting springs will mess up the alignment super fast it’s better to get a 2inch springs from belltech to be more safe with the alignment sir!!!
Great video! This is actually the first one I have seen that says to wait until after the axle is flipped since the axle moves, and that makes total sense! Did you cut the front springs? That wasn't shown. I plan on doing that instead of buying drop springs so that I can cure the Chevy lean.
@@RustyDuckGarage yes only when it’s cold it hesitates or sometimes doesn’t even start on first crank then I crank again after like one full second she turns over and then I just hold rpms at 1500 for about a minute and she run’s perfect. Any ideas on possible solutions looking at getting new spark plugs and maybe MAF sensor if cleaning it doesn’t work
@@BRED23 I think it's your intake manifold gasket. Have a 03, 5.3, and it did the exact same thing. It's not a hard or heavy job. Watch videos and good luck.

Awesome, thank you!
I got a 01 as well 336000 and runs like a champ.
My 04 has half a million miles. Still runs perfect
These 5.3’s are awesome
Dude i have a 2006 4.3 2d reg cab it has 200000 miles and i took it to get it checked. There's nothing wrong with it

Right on! Glad you like it. I am always looking for good truck and a good price.
Probably the best looking truck on TH-cam! You just motivated me to lower my truck now Sir!
Right on! Glad to hear that!
Nice truck man and what a cool grandpa you are 💪🏼💯🔥

Very true!
Thanks so much can’t wait to do this to mine

Love that truck! Where you find your lowering kit and does it ride smooth?
Yes it does! Amazon for the spindles and flip kit.
Great wheel and tire choice just need chevy center caps 👍
I agree!

You should be fine cause your not going low low if you go lower then 4/6 you’ll need one for sure

Do the tires rub on tight turns?
Thank you for sharing your video helped me out a lot
You're welcome! Glad it helped.
Love the outcome of this truck especially how u buffed that paint out amazing job.. amd idk it seems lower than a 4/6 looks like a 5/7
Thanks 👍 It was a 4-6 drop.
do you have any shocks in the front after lowering it?
Yeah.... I'm wondering the same thing. I remember you mentioning the new rear shocks with brand name but you never said anything about the front shocks.
Really nice truck!!
Thanks 👍
What size are your tires
Got an '03 extended 4.8. Got the lowering parts sitting in my closet. Need to get on it
Dude, you've got the parts, now it's time to get your hands dirty and lower that truck!

2015 tahoe comes with them
Not sure. But I believe LTZ Tahoe and Suburban beginning in 2015
Thank you!
did you cut the springs cause the spindles are just 2 inch drop? and you made to a 4inch drop
Yes that is correct.
@@RustyDuckGarageI heard people said cutting springs will mess up the alignment super fast it’s better to get a 2inch springs from belltech to be more safe with the alignment sir!!!
Did you have to do anything about pinion angle or carrier bearing?
No. The flip kit sets the pinion angle. No issue on this one.
Does it have a two piece drive shaft
Yes sir two piece came standard in 2wd extendos
Do you have links to the rear flip kit and c notch?
Great video! This is actually the first one I have seen that says to wait until after the axle is flipped since the axle moves, and that makes total sense! Did you cut the front springs? That wasn't shown. I plan on doing that instead of buying drop springs so that I can cure the Chevy lean.
Yes. I cut the coils and installed two inch drop spindles. thanks
@RustyDuckGarage how much did you cut? Did you cut the top or bottom of the spring?
Super nice truck
What’s the lowest you can go without relocating the exhaust?
I herd anything past 9 you have to relocate gas tank
Can you put the link for parts
Whats the wheels and tire setup?
Do the front tires hit on the upper fender on a dip or any rubbing issues ? Did you remove the bumper stops?
I did not remove the front bump stops. They will rub slightly on hard bump.
@@RustyDuckGarage Thank you for the information 🙏
Truck came out sweet!… though about putting an HD good on ?
Thank you! Yes that would look good.
Starting 06 they came with the hd hood and grille except the thicker bumper plastic from the hd,s
Wanted to ask what tire size were you running on those 20s ?
275/45R20
Watch the video.... that's what they're for. He say's it and it even shows it at 19:12. Lol
Did you use the stock shocks or lowering shocks
I used Bell Tech lowering shocks installed at a later date
Beautiful
Thank you!
How do I fix piston slap when cold if that’s what’s happening on my 99 4.8
Just drive it. If it is only there when it is cold it won’t be an issue.

Wow I love it

does it ride smooth with cut coils?
Yes with the correct shocks
@@RustyDuckGarage what shocks do you use
Belltech. But I do not recall the part number.
never cut the springs cause its gonna ride like trash and the alignment will give up on you in a couple months
