Not even to mention that in addition to her vocal talent, she was a great beauty.

I think this album is a must-hear because Anni-Frid's soft, velvety voice is so touching. I've loved this album since I heard it for the first time. She seems to switch between different genres in a playful way. I particularly like "Tre kvart från nu", "Lycka", "En ton av tystnad", "Suzanne", "Jag är Beredd" and "Telegram för Fullmånen". Yes, just like her "little sister", she can tell stories masterfully and make every song her own. She gets lost in her interpretations and takes us on a journey. I'm so glad that Anni-Frid didn't give up back then because she had so much to give us. It touches me so much and I'm deeply grateful for it. ❤️

It's an extremely mature album for a 25-year-old. I was lucky enough to get a copy on vinyl and the mastering is superb - better than some half-speed mastered albums in my collection. It's almost like Frida is in the room with you. The storytelling is fantastic, and Frida seems to create characters for each song. Sen Dess... and Telegram are fantastic performances. The phrasing and wit and vibe are so, so cool. Lycka and Barnen Sover are beautiful - so tender, so intimate. It's interesting that the work Frida and Agnetha did around this time seemed to direct the kinds of songs they were given on the first couple of ABBA albums. Gonna Sing You My Lovesong sounds like it could have come from this stunning debut. And it has a similar theme to Tre Kvart Fran Nu. It's interesting that all five Frida albums are distinctly different. It's almost like she's a different artist each time.

She’s amazing. She has one of those voices that make you scream when you listen to it: OMG WHO IS THAT? THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!! And immediately you say: Oh, of course it’s FRIDA! 🙌 I love them all ❤

So incredibly gifted with a unique, versatile vocal delivery. (In the 1960s she could've been the Swedish A-la-muse ~ Françoise Hardy!). In ABBA she further came into her own with her sometimes low & haunting, sometimes edgy vocals...and of course so vital in the construct of the signature 3 part harmony. FRIDA SHINES!

The first time I heard these Swedish language albums was through the library in my home town...besides books you could also borrow records there...I remember being so excited because it was so extraordinary to find something else besides the regular ABBA releases. And I still love and play these songs regularly.

I grew up with 'Ensam', and it became one of my favorite albums, but it could have been 'Frida'. This was the 70s, probably a year after 'Ensam' was released, and my familiy was on summer vacation a place in Denmark. Going to the local town, I went into a record store, where 'Ensam' was on tape, and 'Frida' was on vinyl. I didn't have money for both - I had to choose. As I only had a tape recorder in my room, I chose 'Ensam', which I came to love, and when I got a record player, I also bought it on vinyl. However, I didn't come across 'Frida', which was much more rare, until the cd compilation 'Frida 1967-1972' was released in 1997, and I immediatedly loved the songs. The tone of her voice is very tender and soft, however, as you mention in the video, very expressive and nuanced. Frida doesn't really sound like a pop singer on 'Frida', more like a chanteuse or a laid back jazz singer, and I really love it. But 'Ensam' has a particular place in my heart, as it's been with me since I was a small boy.

She has such a soft, contemplative way of singing on this album. It's such a shame that the jazz-adjacent style wasn't as appreciated as the pop-schlager sound during this time. I do believe the album charted when it was reissued in 2017.

Frida is a very unique singer. Her voice is different in the way she expresses and sings. I feel that is the reason why Frida had difficulty with having a song in the Swedish charts. However, as we know, Frida is one of our favorite singers and nothing was meaningless!

From 1967 to before ABBA, she had released enough singles to have filled two other studio albums on top of the 1971 one. I think a problem was that the guy who signed her to EMI Sweden in 1967, producer Olle Bergman, was a Jazz fan himself. So the songs were a mixture of Schlager, Showtunes and Jazz/Bossa Nova. Nothing wrong with that but probably not commercial enough for the charts. She needed a more contemporary sound and when Benny took over as her producer, she had her first two #1's in 1971 and 1972. Still can't figure why the version of 'The Long And Winding Road' remains unreleased. It's glorious but apparently Frida herself vetoed it.

I don't understand Swedish but Frida's way of singing just travels me no matter the language.'Lycka" is such a beautiful cover. Also since you mentioned 'Comfort Me" as a relatable style....Well CM is depressing but so majestic!.Exceptional.A dark, haunting closer to get you lost in someones arms through a dark winter night.Btw Steve Lillywhite's production on the 'SHINE" Lp is such a great job.

Good to be back in the land of the living. And good to see you again, BB
I'm a bit perplexed by seeing that I wasn't a subscriber to your channel. That is not so as we have interacted during Agnetha's songs being released last year in the aftermath of the fires that destroyed Lahaina.
Anyhow! I'm glad to see this gem of a video about Frida.
    Have a wonderful summer vacation.
    Cheers!

''Barnen Sover" was the reason that made me pay attention to this album long way back .And your channel Bs'b is responsible for this after hearing this song's live version(from a saved radio recording) in one of your previous relevant videos. And Btw Frida's live performance was even better and more ''real" than the audio's release.

thank you for so many great videos! over the years there have been quite a few videos with Frida(before ABBA) popping up here on TH-cam which is so delightful. but I do find it strange that there are hardly anyone on Agnetha. She had so many hits on the Swedish charts. The only two that I have seen are both from a tv show and are not containing any of these. there ´s also some small cuts from her beautiful appearance in her role as Maria.(Jesus Christ Superstar), but only fragmented clips. Anyone ?

I can tell you where the "sadness" - and all the other attributes mentioned in the comment section - is from: the circumstances of her coming into this life.
Finally there is now evidence of telomere changes in children and grandchildren of WW2, they label it childhood trauma.
Most importantly: without knowing this I could always feel it in her voice, right from the beginning in 74 when I was 4. We affected by the bs can sense each other's sould pain.
