You're really such a pro, John. If I lost that last game like that, I'd still be cursing right now. You're so calm and so classy. Not your best tournament, but really enjoying two hours. Thanks a lot. Next time will be better.
Hey John. After not playing a game for 30 years, you are helping to fuel the passion for chess in me again. Your analysis is extremely helpful. Love your channel
I have been downloading your TH-cam videos during night time here in the Philippines because that's the only time we have a faster Internet connection here. I don't watch them here because of connection issues (but I make sure I have liked your videos before downloading them). I wish I could post a screenshot of my hard drive folder containing almost 30 videos from your channel. ♥️ 🇵🇭
@@DLmohh Wow. Well, I started watching John's videos when I started mastering the bishop and knight checkmate. His channel was one of my sources. But the way he explains makes me watch more of his videos until it has been my thing to check his channel if there's a newly uploaded video. John is a great speaker. 👍
John is the top #1 ranked International Master in the world in my opinion. I really mean that John has more potential than most anyone i have seen he just puts so much time into content for others to be able to access affordable or free knowledge in chess to better the world with such a high level of influence. If John put all of his time into becoming GM he would be 2700+ by a year from now. Peace my brother. Keep your head high. You are humble and thats what i respect most about you. ✌ we stand with you. #TeamScandi
Spears indeed. Look like you came straight outa Game of Thrones, which has made the battle between all of them kings, queens, castles and rooks even more exciting than usual lol. Defo the best chess channel on YT. Thanks much chum 👍🏻
So happy to see the positive change in the world recently because of you John. That’s what Bobby always wanted too! He just could never figure out the solution to the whole problem 😁
I like to imagine John puts in those descriptive introductions (who, date, time, event) as a way for aliens or people in 1000 years to help understand what's happening.
For some reason I missed this one when it came out. Go figure. Anyway, I'm glad I have a 'new' video to watch. It's amazing how I've never met John in my life, but I feel like he's an old friend. What a guy.

Hi John ! i just started following your channel (like a month or so ago) and ive started to understand chess much better . I must say that you are an awesome teacher !! Keep up all the good work !! i have already seen a jump of 100 points on chess.com (1100 to 1205 ) during that period just by watching you play and analyse games . Great Work !!!
8:01 you would have had Qd7+ with a devastating attack. if black king steps up to 8th rank, you get the rook join in with checks, if not, you'll get to trade the queens at minimum.
You're hair maybe long from quarantining but no real dark circles under the eyes. We can tell you're sleeping better👍 Looking good bro, stay healthy and take care!
Love your channel man! New subscriber since the beginning of quarentine. With the time off I've been working on my chess game, havent been able to stop watching your videos and checking daily for new ones! Keep up the great work, you're truly great at what you do, and it would be an honor to get the opportunity to play you sometime!
Another entertaining video Minnesota Fins. I really think you should start your own line of coffee called IMJB. You could have many flavors and blends with the Scandinavian blend of course being the backbone of the company, with the FINish blend being a close second. Considering that my user name is derived from a type of coffee I obviously know what I'm talking about.
I’ve gained 400 points on chess.com since I started watching your videos. I feel like my biggest weakness is opening knowledge. I’m stubbornly sticking with the Queen’s Gambit and Scandinavian.
Hey man, I've been watching alot of your videos, I'm getting back into chess. Pretty much a new player, I feel like I have some of the basics down, but I don't know theory or lines really. And I still struggle with visualization finding favorable positions for forks, still have blunders sometimes and am slow considering moves. Thanks for the content and would love any kind of advice you'd be willing to give
Hi John, I had a problem in a game where it was one of those situations where it was harder to lose, and it came down to one move. I’ve tried to analyse it, but I can’t find a solution. Do you have an email address or something where I can show you?
MJB? Oh boy oh boy John you have so much to learn about coffee. As I try to shake off the scars keeping me from training hard at chess, perhaps I can train you in the art of coffee. What kind of brew do you like? American drip, French press, Italian moka? Espresso? I can help you find a bean that will blow your mind. I mean it's still an order of magnitude better than starbucks.
