Astro A30 Wireless vs Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed

- Here I'm comparing the @LogitechG G Pro X 2 Lightspeed and the @astrogaming A30 wireless, complete with mic test, my thoughts on the sound and much more.

My favourite features of the Logitech G Pro X Lightspeed are:
- The swappable ear cushions included as standard (choices of comfort or passive noise cancellation)
- A solid headband design that includes pivot and tilt ear cups that can easily fit your head
- Both Bluetooth and wireless connectivity (though sadly not at the same time)
- 3.5mm connections on the headset AND on the wireless dongle, so you can wirelessly mic monitor and external mic or mix in another analogue source
- Good punchy bass and DTS Headphone X 2.0 as well as other satisfying sound profiles
- Logitech Blue Voice mic tech (for customised sound)
- Stylish design
- Decent battery life

A30 was cheaper here, so I got it last week. It is a pretty good headset, it sounds great with gaming. Been thinking about these earpads tough, can't seen to find any replacements arround the market.
I love my A30's but lost the boom mic. Do you know of any alternatives? Because the store never has any in stock.
How would you compare the pro X2 to the Astro a50
Ive had both. The audio quality in the pro x 2 is leaps and bounds better. The a30 is just disasterous with its bluetooth functionality after a few months
Any chance you’d be willing to try my surround EQ for the G Pro X2 Lightspeed and tell me if I’m tripping or on to something here? I came up with this because I feel like it retains immersion while keeping all the detail the graphene drivers deliver. I can still hear footsteps in MW3 on maps like shipment even with all the kill streaks going off.

@@TheProvokedPrawn np, if you or anyone else(mainly for everyone else not familiar with sound stage) want to use it in MW3, make sure to use an in-game eq that has a wide sound stage like “home theater.” Using the more narrow presets like “headphones” will make ambient sounds like wind and objects flapping in the breeze sound way too close to you. I’ve uploaded the eq in g hub, it’s labeled “MW3 Surround EQ(No Rumble/Better Imaging and Separation)”

Not for me. They are by far the worst headset I ever owned. The volume in app will go to 100% out of nowhere. The mic would stop picking up my voice after some time of use. Sometimes the unit would power off and had to hard reset to turn it off. Not sure if I got a bad qauilty one or if it's a common fault with the a30. I now have the logitec pro g 2 x and I like them alot. I consider them a50 qauilty sound.
i have the same problem.. i was so close to throw them from the window :) and the sound is never the same..idk why . probably because the software is on the phone.. not on the pc@@arkhamkillzone
What headset is your daily driver after all you tested? Don't tell me it's still the Astro A50 :D
Not anymore it's the Nova Pro wireless now th-cam.com/video/OlSjpae6U6s/w-d-xo.html (though I was close to thinking the Logitech G Pro X 2 wireless is pretty great too).
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks for the reply! I've been eyeing these two and don't really dig the headband of the NOVA (why I wouldn't even look at the Maxwell) but seems like the G Pro X2 got a trash mic. Both seems to be "ok" for audio quality. I know all reviews praise their sound but from testing both at friends i'd say they're not quiet "up there" coming from $300 - $400 studio headphones ;) But I just want good quality sound without a cable and comfortable cans while gaming and using speakers the rest of the time.
It's kind of amazing that Astro has been completely quiet since the release of this new A30 version. Maybe in 2024 there will be a new A40 and in 2025 there will be a new version A50.
Pictures of the new A50 have already shown up online. Logitech G logo on the base station.

Although that's valid (and I have thought about it) the A50s are now ancient, so I thought this was more logical. But I might well do it at some point. There's got to be an A50 Gen 5 soon, surely.
