I’m so glad I found your channel! I graduated college yesterday with a degree in Criminal Justice. However, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher and am planning on getting my masters in Elementary Education ❤️ I know CJ has nothing to do with elementary school (thought I wanted to be a lawyer) but then I took a class all about the juvenile justice system and realized that I could make a greater impact in education. I’m disabled and have a service dog 🐕🦺 so I can also teach my students that regardless of your ability level you can do this ❤️☺️

Your teaching advice is always so thorough and practical. I love seeing the content you’re working on. Do you make a new set of slides for each day? I’m a second year teacher and that’s what I’ve been doing but it’s so time consuming!
Thanks so much! I always have slides for each day. At this point, it's kind of "plugging in" what I need for the day. Keep the same template to make life as easy as possible. However, I'd rather put the time in to make the slides so my students have the visuals and I can keep my life together 🤣🤣

I struggle with getting to work early these days. I have transitioned from being a middle school teacher to an elementary school teacher, and they just start so much earlier! Middle school started at 8, now I am in the gym to pick up my class after the pledges by 7:40-7:45. I also have a longer commute this year, so that's also a factor. I wish we in Texas could just start at a later time like y'all do!! Then maybe me getting to work at 7:20 to get work done is more feasible than just coming in, and rushing to get ready. Oh well, maybe one day!
