Wow, great job Grant, that was definitely a session to remember, great spot also. I have fished many spot like that always got the "don't get hurt slipping" playing in the back of my head. Stealth Glide definitely putting the heat on. Another great video and also nice to see the fish being released. Tightlines
That’s some awesome fishing buddy. Watching you land the fish whilst trying to do a balancing act on them sharp rocks.!!! Well done and some beautiful fish. Well deserved !! 👍🏽👍🏽😀😀🎣🎣
I love your content , I live in Portugal close to the ocean and I would definitely love to try this fishing style , do you have any advice as a beginner?
YEs you should start in swells less than 1 meter for safety to get used to the effects of the waves and buiöld up your experience . I would recommend long casting lures and long rods which you can find at samsonfishing. In around 2 months there will also be a European outlet avoiding import fees
Oh by the way what rod was that, love the length, looked around 11-12ft and the rod bend, looks epic. Beautiful fast taper, great bend and action and noticed you were lifting those hefty bass no problem.
Thanks 👍 Yes Plenty of reasons I like a long spinning rod guiding fish and lures around the rocks and of course casting! This one is also handy lifting fish up in tricky spots
Hi Grant I've bought 2x enticer minnow 50g and 1x bomb 30g for bass fishing in rough conditions West Wales, do you tend to use the smaller versions in calmer conditions ? Also do you find the 50g sinks a lot faster and harder to work than the 15g version ? We get heavy onshore winds in the autumn time and needed something that'll get out there but won't snag up in shallow water like metals do etc 👌
Hi Jordan, good question. I use the 50g Enticer to get out distance in rougher conditions. We have a 70g version coming soon which will be very effective with its not too big profile. I use Samson lures over very shallow ground. Just keep the lure moving, when its out the back generally rod tip up, lowering it on the inside. Its possible to work them over rocks just on the surface as you can just tap them over. Yes in small conditions i use the 15g tweak and 21g bomb. Good luck
Looks belting that. Are you anywhere near Lagos, got a little apartment in the centre. Spent most of this summer pollock and wrasse fishing on the lures, next year going to try these Samson lures, might have a go in Portugal. Boca de Rio was recommended me a while ago. Careful on them rocks lol.
@@lurefishingfromtheshore-gr8270 ahhh thanks for that. I’ll try one of your lures and since they cast so far I’ll try to miss the wind surfers on that stretch of water. Is the bass seasonal that part of the algarve?
@@GrumpyGarry121 ive not fished that estuary, but I reckon big high tides at night early morning could work well, they even have corvina in the deep parts but I havnt persued it
@@lurefishingfromtheshore-gr8270 wow, would like a battle with one of those, cheers for the input. Which months do you find best fishing down there please? Last question, I know I am been a pain lol
@@GrumpyGarry121 You can catch bass all year round and sometimes bluefish around may. Hard to say the best month as it changes each year. In general summer is the slowest time although it can be good. Many people like autumn
well i havnt fished for Pike but my son caught a pike on the tweak when were testing them in a lake! I think the slow sink tweak would work best. They are available in rainbow trout
Hi grant it would be great if you could get a samson lure in a cotton candy couler i live in the west country cotton candy is deadly for the bass here.
@@lurefishingfromtheshore-gr8270 where abouts or is that a secret? Only ever fished in the UK but want to try other places. Heard about Portugal being class but everywhere looks like big sandy beaches not rough rocky ground like where you fish
