- SUG-N: Do you think @FractalOfficial should sell an ITX version of the North? I think so! Until they do, you can DIY your own, using a 3D Printer for a custom case. This 9.51L case was designed for ITX motherboards, SFX/SFX-L power supplies, 120mm water-cooling AIO, no PCIE riser, and video cards smaller than 285mm (EVGA RTX 3080)

I would buy an ITX North in a heartbeat.
They would sell out like hot cakes at a cake eating contest.
Thanks for watching btw! What case are you rocking right now?
@@standupg4m3r NR200P. Before that was a Fractal Define Nano S, which was great but can't handle modern large GPU's. But yeah I really like Fractal as a brand, I have several of their cases and as said would buy a small North in a second.
the innuendoes comin in hot & heavy, in this one... XD
LOL glad to have you here! Thank you.
I'm happy I'm not the only one to notice
I'm used to small things in my hands too ❣
It’s amazing how the Internet can bring communities with a common experience together. #belonging #notalone
lol but seriously, thanks for watching!
Really nice build! I've honestly had the thought of building a case like this for the past few weeks, and then this video appears! Would love to try something similar, but with the implementation of more wood.
I’ll never say no to more wood too!
But seriously, please comment back when you finish your case; I’d love to see it!
rewatching this video, well done, your videos are informative and well thought of. keep up the good work, can’t wait for your next project
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Beautiful work. I am personally rocking a SG13 which actually has a very similar layout to this case, just a tad larger and on it's side. Watching this made me want to make a case made of laser cut plywood, with joinery on the corners, painted white and add the signature front wooden slats.
You are a talented artist (and a funny commentator as well!). Keep it up, I love your work!
Thanks so much for the kind words! The SG13 is iconic and was a welcome addition to the market to disrupt the Shuttle brand casa before it.
Please link back with your completed project! Would love to see it. :)
I'd be more than happy if they did a Fractal Design North MATX.
Thanks for watching! If they accommodate for large GPUs, like the RTX 4090 then mATX would kind of be a freebie! And you’re right, a mATX North would freaking rock!
The commentary is amazing.
You think so?! I’ll tell my step-mom, since she writes my scripts for me.
lol thanks though, for real. :)
I love seeing ITX cases. (I would never work in one thought lol)
Thanks for watching! Honestly, if you have ever snaked cables behind a motherboard tray, you're already half way there! Cheap custom cables can really remove a lot of the headaches too.
Usually I watch videos about other people's wood work but this video makes me want to work my own wood for a change. No idea why.
[insert “inspirational beaver”]
Looks very cool!)
But a strong emphasis on the front hole for the fan looks strange)
Perhaps if we made it darker, it wouldn't stand out so much?
Thanks! The original had very minimal area for the front to the point that you could undo the GPU power cables lol but I needed to reinforce it to avoid the case from warping under tension.
Increasing the size a bit could very well allow the same material/color treatment found on the North.
@@standupg4m3r Yes, I understand, so small and empty, and especially plastic...
But it turns out really, really cool!!!
Do you make them for yourself and videos? Or will it be possible to order it somehow?)
@@MrStubbs760thanks again! For now I’m trying to avoid having customers and would rather have “fans” atm lol
The 3D files are free!
PS - I may sell some cases soon, but I’ll have to take more time on them instead of early phase cases I’ve been sharing so far - this isn’t even my final form.
@@standupg4m3r Yes, I understand
Keep up the good work!
Perhaps there will be universal models that can be made for sale)
Would be cute if they named it the North XS, I think.
They need to hire you for their marketing department, because that would the best name for this!
As usual, great build presented in a thorough and also funny way.
I wasn’t actually aware of those graphics card low profile power adapters, they could definitely come in handy sometimes!
Yo!!!! Thanks a bunch for checking out my video. Always means a lot coming from a successful content creator and maker like yourself.
PS - if you short the contracts behind the adapter, I can’t be held responsible… low key I’m actually more comfortable using them in a plastic case than a metal one; literally a piece of foam covering the contacts lol
@@standupg4m3r that can probably be fixed with a 3D printed snap in cover 😊👍

Just built my terra, this video was really cool, keep cool work up :)
Thanks so much! Also, I love the Terra, great choice. :)
I think this case would look awesome printed with a multicolor filament. Great video, great insights, it tough me a lot about my wood and hole options

you made so many calls to action I'd feel bad not commenting lol
L O L thanks so much for watching and commenting!

Thanks and you’re welcome!
Very nice project. Im interested if you could go with matx motherboard and 240 aio on front. It wouldnt be much bigger, but you could putt also 2 120mm fans on bottom of the case
Thanks! When I get an mATX motherboard I’ll consider it!

I Just Died in your Arms Tonight - The Lego Batman Movie.
Did you know that Lego pieces are the most common objects needing to be extracted from people at emergency rooms?
(I just made that up but now that I’ve wrote it out, and seen it on my screen, I believe it)
PS - I really appreciate you watching my work btw
@@standupg4m3r good trivia :D
It's a wonderful custom-made case that you made. You hopefully know of course how toxic abs is and have the printer in a well ventilated room.
Thanks for watching and sharing the heath awareness! I ventilate the garage when I’m printing of course; the fumes are no joke - but melting any plastic is a risk anytime we do it; I get eye irritation even with PLA and it’s one of the the reasons I even built this in the past: www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/s/LKlq1EEfpF
Used to small things in your hands, You and me both good sir, you and me both.....
My dad too.
lol thanks for stopping by!
Considering how popular both the North and Terra are I think Fractal absolutely should make this case.
I totally agree!!!! It would sell really well 💰
Fantastic video! I was wondering: How much do you think it would cost producing this case in aluminium o a material like a''normal'' pc case?
Thanks!
Realistically (market size, fit & finish, tooling, distribution, etc) it would be inline with other boutique SFFPC case = expensive. Just check out the pricing for the Fractal Terra for example.
To get to the price bracket of the Cooler Master NR200, is highly unlikely since it was designed to be accessible (its almost double the size of this design) AND mass produced; tooling and distribution channels were calculated to be properly amortized.
PS - stay tuned for a simplified version lol
The innuendos. Innuendos everywhere lol.
What does the color of the case remind you of?
Thanks for watching btw lol
It feels a bit like silversone sugo layout, but tighter. I wonder if there's a chassis that has this layout, and maybe it would be doable to make a modding kit to replace the front, add AIO there in those small ITX cases this way. Also - still waiting for your 6K threshold of the steam machine remake :D
You had me at “tighter.”
I’m sure there are others carrying the same layout, and it’s funny that you mentioned it’s a smaller version of the Sugo, but i think of it as an enlarged version of the J-Hack: j-hackcompany.com/?product=j-hack-pure-xl
Now you got me on the hunt to find a case to mod now lol
The Steam Machine will be shared soon! I can feel it lol. :)
@@standupg4m3r That j-hack case feels really overpriced at this price point for two pieces of metal bent at 90 degrees and a switch. We had an idea for such a cube case years back on the hard forum as ultra-cheap SFF case :)
OMG, what is stopping you from still doing it now?! lol hotcakes!
Looks great! I'm a big fan of using heat sets. So much stronger and worth the 5c each. I design them into basically all of my 3d printed designs that needs bolts.
I have done acetone smoothing and acetone welding. I don't think the acetone welding is worth it because it's very easy to put too much acetone and have it melt places you didn't intend to melt, which mars the appearance. Plus, super glue bonds ABS parts almost instantaneously and strongly. if I were to design a part for acetone welding, I'd try to do some kind of tongue and groove versus just trying to weld two flat faces together.
Looking great! Keep it up. ABS-GF is pretty cool. How are you liking it?
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Great points in regard to fusing butt joints. I have some ideas churning in my head about the topic now.
ABS-GF (any fiber impregnated filaments at that) is the ultimate cheat code to 3D Printing for me atm. I love the stuff. I’m going to dial in this current filament roll because it’s not printing as good as the Black ABS-GF from Qidi Tech. But in the past white filaments have always exhibited weird behavior for me.
Answer: Yes. I would also buy a larger Terra more akin to the NR200.
The NR200 is GOAT!
Great work! :)
Thanks so much! :)
Wow it looks really great!! Great Job!!
I would still buy it even if it's a bit bigger ~30L as a premium version Asus AP201
Thanks so much! Someone else mentioned that even at NR200 volume it would still be desirable.
Matx will be amazing
Soon™️
what were your vrm temps, and m.2 temps? good job
Thanks! I’ll have to check on those but the VRMs are being fed by the 92mm fan so I’m not even concerned over it; the NVME drive is behind a mesh on the back side of the board so it might be a bit stagnant without airflow.
looks amazing, good job!
whats your opinion about deepcool ch160?

I don't think they are gonna cannibalize their own recent products(the terra). No company does that. So probably we are not gonna see a new Fractal Design ITX case soon. Maybe a MicroATX case one will come sooner
Good point! But if they do a mATX version, that could open up the doors for the “North Family”; the product differentiator might be riser vs no-riser between ITX North and Terra.
To continue with the mATX thought, with the way GPUs are growing, going riser-less ITX would bring the case into mATX territory by default.
YES!
Thanks for watching! Terra or ITX North, which one would you go with?
do the panels melt under heat?

I can accomplish a lot in under 2 minutes (I can’t vouch for the other party though). Thanks for watching!
@@standupg4m3r I too can accomplish a lot in under 1 minutes.jk aside nice case.
For the build this tiny, I would probably just use a quality air cooler and print a wind inlet to optimize airflow. Because the test for AIO, I reckon if the AIO is smaller than 240, is a bit pointless, because a nice air cooler can beat the performance and plus the air cooler also cools the VRM to help system stability
And since you are doing the custom cables, it is a bit shame not to best fit to given better air flow
