Got to admit the F59PH even after 30 years of service look pretty good especially as they storm down the line with their thundering 710 prime mover. I always wanted a model of this legendary workhorse. It be nice if they also made it in the NCDOT Piedmont scheme as well. Will definetly be getting this one in the Metrolink Phase I "Blue Nose" scheme.
Thanks! NCDot is a tough call as they need retooling for the nose and cab, but we’ll consider it for a future release.

I got one coming! I can repaint it to my freelanced commuter system OnTrack. This engine will replace all of Athearn's F59-PHI along with a few others.

Wow these are REALLY butifull, I love to front plate on the handrails on the GO transit loco. Also it's me Dwights model railroad and I'll need to stop babbling on about the S.P but to bad the S.P wasn't around when these locos in real life were released. Would have looked AMAZING in the Daylight Scheme *edit forgot to put a .

Hello everybody at Rapido trains. I want to thank you for doing Chicago‘s Metra locomotives can’t wait to get mine. Are you gonna do the F 59 in Amtrak paint. I’m pretty sure Amtrak had them but I could be wrong
Amtrak only had the later streamlined F59PHI, but it would be cool to see what our F59 would look like painted for them!

The f59ph may be gone, but it's efficient brother (F59phi) is still in service.

Serious question here: Are those three blocks of wood the same weight and pulling characteristics as ten of the Athearn Bombardier Bi-Levels? Or are we going to need to model the later years of F59PH operations and double-head those trains to ensure they get to their destinations on time?
They actually roll pretty good with those freight friction bearing trucks we installed!
These are great! Will the later Metrolink versions have a P2 horn sound and Automatic Train Stop receivers on the lead trucks?
Glad you like them! Horn sound is no problem. We will look into the ATS shoes.
Question will the metrolink ver. Have p2 horns?Because I know a majority of them had it.

As someone who lives in the sunny south, I have to ask.Where are the NCDOT units?
NCDOT units need retooling to the cab and nose. It's a big investment and we're not sure if the sales are there at the moment. Will be considered for a future release however.

Will the Metrolink variant have the prototypical offset from Center and recessed nose headlight that is different from all the Go Transit variants made
We've checked with the design team. Unfortunately we could not afford to do the offset/recessed headlight. We needed to use one nose for Metrolink and Metra. If we are surprised by a huge surge in sales, we will tool the Metrolink nose. But as it stands now, that is not possible.
The scene of the GO transit train in mountainous scenery is because it's being leased for a test run for the new no name Wood Block start up line.😉😁😃😄

A question about the later Metrolink models: will they have a Nathan P2 recording? More often than not, a SCAX F59 would have one, although there was a small chunk of them with K5LAs and hybrid horns.

Yes unfortunately Metrolink just retired their last unrebuilt F59’s.

Not yet, but we'll work in it!

Were these locomotives delayed because I though they were going to be releced in winter of 2021 but now your website says summer 2021
Yes unfortunately these have been temporarily delayed due to the low orders, but they will begin production later this year. I think they were all about 12" in length, but all of them were a bit different from each other!

Maybe one day, but we haven't decided yet.
Okay, no worries. I've found that most modelers have the Athearn coaches, but no engines, because they either don't make them as often as they should, the engine type isn't prototypical; yes we're looking at you Athearn GO Transit and F59PHi; or are too hard to find and when we do, they're way too pricey being at least 2 times the MSRP.

Have you thought of creating a PHR rebuild model? Will the Phase I Metrolink units have Ohio Brass 3-Chime Air Whistle recordings on them? If you ever do Bombardier Bi-Levels, I hope you get the cab windowing and riveting/welding correct. Also, my profile picture appears at 1:52.
If the sales skyrocket, we will consider it. So far we have not had a huge number of F59PH orders. Unless the sales pickup a lot, we can't consider doing any rebuilds.
