Love this content your videos rock and have got me really into the sport. I picked up a 91 650sx and have restored it using parts from vintage jetski! Your 1100 triple has really me conspiring to build one too! Keep up the videos!
Bro’s the last few videos have been absolute fire 🔥!!! Ole 550 action now 650 action!! Nice involved simple little builds hell ya!!! Now once a week you might be able to throw in some more detail content on what some call boring stuff like wiring and other things like mixing in cdi boxes 🤷♂️ I’d love all that techy stuff maybe once again but just throwing more ideas out there!!! Love the content keep it coming
Thank you. I used to film more of that stuff. It's the faithful few that always like seeing it, but it generally doesn't get the views so we try to find the best balance with that. What people tell us in the comments + what we want to film + what gets views..... It all influences what type of videos we make.
I love it ! That Jet Trim really makes it a whole new ski.... I mean, the paint job also transformed the ski... the Jet Trim was just the icing on top, BUT icing is the best part of the cake 🤟
I watched this video yesterday and tried to comment... and it wouldn't let me. I refreshed the page, closed it and reopened it, and it still wouldn't let me comment.
@@Jacobskibros I love this kind of build because it’s something that I would actually do, the v8 videos are cool but I would never build one myself. Old stuff is my favorite.
Jet ski bros I NEED help!!!! I have an 88 650sx that runs awesome….until it gets hot. It doesn’t seem to be pissing out water like it should. Nothing is clogged, water lines are right, has good compression….I’m at a loss, any feedback is useful at this point. It does have a WestCoast exhaust/water box. I can hook it up to a hose and it’s perfect, I get it out on the water, it gets hot like it’s not cooling as it should be.
This thing came out clean! Earlier in the summer I got an 89 650sx, it was my first stand up. I didn't get to ride much since I was having trouble tuning the carb, so I brought it to a local ski mechanic who used to race in the 90's. He told me my Mariner head gasket was blown, that its a special gasket, and told me my 650 was a piece of crap and to sell it, he also told me I was dumb for buying something used and crappy from the 80s. He told me to buy a low-maintenance 701 Superjet for a good price off FB in the off-season. I listened to him and sold it, now I'm ski-less :( . In your guys' opinion what's the most reliable/low maintenance stand up? 701 Superjet? 750 sxi? 800sxr? I'm dying to get back in the game. Thanks bros!
i have 2 squarenose Superjets, a 650 and a 701, i dont have experience with kawi skis. i'd say really the price is what matters right now, with the market so hot.
I think the 650sx is reliable. I've had mariner heads and they just use a stock head gasket. I'd just slap a gasket on there and rip. If the head is weird sell it on ebay and buy a stock one. Some people think everything that you don't need to finance is crap. The 650sx is cheap fun and I dare say reliable.
Jacob Superjet Jet SKI Thanks Jacob, you guys are seriously the best , and i really appreciate your reply. sadly, i sold it so I’m gonna have to find a new ride. I will keep you updated when i find one! Thanks again!
Big 650 guy!? Keep the Standup projects coming, love the builds like this with different motor swaps! Also don’t think you’ve thrown a 701 in one of these yet👀
Just picked up a 91’ 650SX which needed work too. Had to put a new top end in and now trying to make sense of all the past hacked up lines, wiring. Anyone have a few pics of the engine (intake) ground wires routing? It had them on a couple intake studs but then ??? Ground wire from started to battery intact but the supplement and online service manuals do not show anything. Thanks all.
650 SX’s really did look ahead of their time back when they were built. The shape and lines of the ski are timeless. It doesn’t look like it was designed 3 decades ago you know?
I think it helps that I took the trim off and cut out the fire extinguisher and painted it and did jet trim. They kind of have a hydrospace look to them. I think the stock ones really look 80s. I'm planning on not buying any more 650sx. At this point I've had 12 of them. I'd rather do 550 build at this point if I'm doing old cheap stuff.
Do you remember how much the rebuild cost ya. Trying to get into stand up jetskis on a budget. Have you done a project from the ground up before. Hull to finished project?
always dig these quick facelifts & the nod to the old red-blue 550 paint/graphics .. but i hate those damn splatter paint jobs! ...mad played-out like a mf in the jetski world... would love to see more conceptual looks like that SEA RAT 2 bomber plane or the Woodski or Planet Ski.. just sayin.. Thanks for the content and cheers brothers!
I think I mostly agree. The splatter is a bottom of the barrel way to do it, but it looks cool when done in certain ways or on stuff that you don't care enough about to do more. I haven't seen that many splatter paint jobs on skis. I think it kind of mimics some of the 90s ski graphics..... at least the way I did it on this ski.
It’s all about technique. Look at the form and technique that he implements with his pointer fingertip on the cap of each can! That is what you call precision!
I watched a few painting videos mostly by middle aged housewives. And they showed me that you don't have to be orange county choppers. I got a lot of Ideas by just watching videos. I would have been more nervous about painting a nice new ski!
@@Jacobskibros honestly man the ideas that you think of on the fly always end up looking amazing. I really enjoy your paint jobs and your ability to turn a beat looking ski into something you can be excited to ride in. I still can’t stop thinking about the Wood Ski!! I love that thing!
Great Leno impression
Perfect lol
I was shocked when Jacob said he was sending those parts for powder coating and then immediately regretted my foolishness for believing it haha
Brush on powder coat from rustolium
@@Jacobskibros That Ace hardware enamel paint is actually very good from my experience
It's a good vintage jet ski commercial 😎👍💯🇨🇮🇺🇸🇨🇮🇺🇸🤠paint job like a boss 💯💯💯💯💯
Any more videos on the 300sx custom bob ski?
Good stuff I will say. Nice work there with the chin pad.... yes can totally relate to over spending on old jet ski stuff!!!!
lovin the stand up videos you guys keep them coming please!! ive been looking to get a 650sx here soon
Nice. Hope you can get a deal. These 650s can be really cheap fun.
Awesome vid guys i like how it doesn't drone on
A build in my taste, thanks for inspiration!
Thanks for watching. We try to have a little of everything for everybody.
650sx video yyyyyeeeeesssss!!
Tape job was better than my tape jobs...
It was probably my 5th one that I've ever done. My first looked like a 3 year old did it.
Nice classic JSB video!
Love all your videos boys so I'm cool with whatever 😎
Awesome vid, nice work, ski looks great and it was super cool to see the process. The music in the last 2:30min was dope too. Nicely done
Why do none of the skis I've rattle canned ever come out this good?! Nice job guys!

More vid/info!
Yes please on that water test vid J O
I wanna see this out on the water 💧
can't downvote a one-day 650sx build.
Awesome build video
Yep Jacob went ham on that thing … I believe that thorough tape job added at least 50 hp good shit my dude 👍 ✅

I found a hulk with title for 50$ but looks like it needs some fiber glass repairs. Is that a good deal ?
What happened to the 900 swap? Im getting ready to do one myself and have a couple questions if you could help me out
Ride it.
Ive got a 1976 JS400 with clean title in parts I want to sell. Complete hull and handle pole.
What happened to this ski? What was the engine?
Wait until next year to sell.. Probably get at least 500 more at this point..
How much does it sell for? Wood ski was 3000 with a 700 this has a 750. I bet it will be about the same.
What happened to BOB the 300sx
It is forbidden to talk about that before the next bob video.
