    Great tutorial, thanks! Only comment at min 12:10, when you set the numbers for the triangular grid, it will only work properly if the Ey is set to an even number.

    Hey! Your videos are so cool! But I wonder why don't you just doubleclick in empty space and enter numeric value for a slider? I see you always drag it from the tool palette and adjust then.

      +J-DESIGN.PRO - Школа современного ювелирного дизайна No real reason to be honest.. Just force of habit. I mean, it probably is better to enter values by double clicking in the canvas.. You can set up your sliders much quicker.

    That was a great tutorial. Thanks man, I just have one question. Can you explain how exacly shift path works? Because I understand everything that you did here, except for shift path.
    Again, thanks for share.

    Hello!
    This Video was very helpful,Thank-you so much!!
    I just have one question,
    what if i want to do this for single open surface, like a shell or roof structure?

    • @DanielChristev
      @DanielChristev  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      We use the maptosurface component. so as long as you are using a single untrimmed surface, you should be able to aplly it to any surface.

      I tried, it did not work.

      Tanmay Patil could you be more specific as to what didn't work? Where does it breakdown?

    hi, thanks for the tutorial. i had a problem when i tried to follow. after i created the Neg, and connecting it to the number slide and the Pt, the line that originally connected the number slide and Pt disappeared. why is it so?

      +W L you need to hold the shift key to insert multiple streams into the same component.

    what's the difference between points acquired through average component and arean component? Sometimes in a 3d surface they are not quite the same points.

    • @DanielChristev
      @DanielChristev  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +njy jim hey Nyj. The average component computes the geometric centre of mass of an object, and is technically a more accurate way to calculate the centre. However, when you have a larger point collection, you'll find it is a really computationally inefficient component, so using the average function will calculate the mathematical 'middle' of a list of points, and is hence much more efficient.
      So while they give different results, for a regular polygon or most shapes, the average component will give you the same result, or at least a close enough approximation.

    hi Daniel
    I was wondering if this final model is good for 3D print?

    • @DanielChristev
      @DanielChristev  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Y Xia Depending on how fine your printer is, you may need some struts where the stars meet each other as they get quite thin. A lower resolution printer will handle this fine as it will just fuse the stars together, but a higher quality one will likely result in separation. You could perhaps remedy this by placing a small sphere at each apex of the star to contain the joint..

    I tried your tutorial step by step, but the points when you have the form in 2D it connects all the point with each other instead of what you show in the video. For some reason instead of having six lines, I have nine because I have the internal lines too, how I fix it?

    • @DanielChristev
      @DanielChristev  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      At what specific time in the video are you referring to?

    • @nelsonlama442
      @nelsonlama442 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      sorry, between 5:36-6:20

    • @DanielChristev
      @DanielChristev  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Um, if I understand correctly, isn't this just a preview issue? Or are you getting nine lines out of the line component...

    • @nelsonlama442
      @nelsonlama442 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Christev exactly, it is not a preview issue. I have 9 instead of 6, I tried graft the points but then I had 3 lines
