Filipina-American here.. I'm SD born and raised ♥️ Unfortunately, we had to move in 09 But this is home!! My home. I miss it so much. I miss my friends. I miss my family there. I miss the whole vibe of National City. I've had some ups and I've had some downs there. If Cali wasn't so expensive to live in. I would go back and stay there.
I enjoyed living in National City. I used to live a couple of blocks away from Seafood City. I have since moved away, but still go back and visit ever now and then..
I remember when where Seafood City is was converted from a huge vacant lot. It used to have nursery and a Handyman. It was interesting to see the Pinoy community settle in and revamp the shopping center into what it is today. I was a resident in NC for 42 years, raised there. Lots of evolution.

We moved in National City from Sacramento.i love the city it has a lot of Filipinos foods not like in Sacramento I have to drive 25 to 30 minutes it depends on traffic.now it takes me less than 5 minutes drive and 15 to 20 minutes to San Diego downtown.take care and stay safety as well.👀🙏

National City is a dump. It has one of the highest crime rates in the United States. Based on FBI crime data, National City is not one of the safest communities in America. Relative to California, National City has a crime rate that is higher than 68% of the state's cities and towns of all sizes. So if you say National city makes you feel closer to home then that means you live in a high crime area back home. Bottom line National city is a filipino ghetto. If you move here from the Philippines and show off to your relatives back home that national city a rich areas you are only joking yourself. Mas maganda sa Cubao.
