Yes Jamel!!! I’m so so happy you’re listening to savage garden. This was my childhood. Their music literally saved me from some tough times. Their two albums are fantastic. Darren Hayes is also an amazing singer songwriter on his own. Look his songs up, the words are phenomenal and so truthful and relatable.

When I was 19 back in the year 2000, my gf at the time won tickets to see them live. I bitched and moaned as she dragged me because I was into skate punk and hip hop only.
They were so awesome in concert. They were probably one of the groups that made me realize I was missing out on great music because of my close-mindedness.

For me it was 98. This song was in heavy rotation on the radio and at that time all I had was a room I was renting and a radio.
So this song always takes me back to laying in bed after a long night shift and shower with my first long term girlfriend.
At 19 the room, radio, and stupid young love was all we needed.

I loved the first album , but unfortunately like several Rock/pop of the time it was the ballad that sold and the second album iirc was all ballads, which where the most standard and least interesting.

    • @riinak7212
      @riinak7212 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@davidbell5528 A lot of the second album were ballads but there were plenty of songs that were not, and the ones that were more uptempo were outstanding. Plus, even "I Knew I Loved You" has a version called the "Mini Me Remix" or something similar which turns it into an up-tempo dance track. :)

The fast-paced delivery of the lyrics in the verses is what caught my attention initially, but the chorus is what reeled me in. This song is on a short list of songs that I loved the very first time I heard it.

I bought the album Savage Garden in 1997, and ever since it has been one of my all time favourite albums. This song, and all the others on the album, to me , are SO good.

This song came out in 1997 and it was EVERYWHERE. Radio had it in heavy rotation. Seriously heard it like every hour at one point. I highly recommend checking out "To the Moon and Back", "Animal Song" and "Affirmation" by Savage Garden. The singer, Darren Hayes, recently came out with new music after a I think 10 year hiatus.

Cheap Trick, I Want You to Want Me 🤣 Bridget Jones Diary, the greatest love song ever 🤣 .. Anywho, I Want You by Savage Garden is great. Do To the Moon and Back, pretty please 😁😁😁.. that particular song hits me in the feels due to my own family stuff growing up & it was the 1st song I heard by Savage Garden. I literally cried when I first heard it when it came out in the '90's. It really got me. One day, the right guy will want to fly to the moon and back for me & I him... Violet is another great song. 😄

I actually had this song in my head recently. These guys were briefly pretty popular in the UK.
I always thought he says "Ooh I'm dying to find out", but it's apparently "Ooh I would die to find out." Small difference, but still..

This was their debut single if I remember, '97 I think. Came out of nowhere with their sound.
"To the Moon and Back" is another awesome electronic rock song by them

I loved this song since I was a child. It brings up a memory of when I had to go to a funeral. I went for my great nana. I never met her though but I won't forget. It's a fun song to blast overall. My go to when I want nostalgia of the 90s.

Darren Hayes solo work is incredible also. For an amazing musical journey, listen to the album “This Beautiful Thing We’ve Made” from start to finish, then watch the video album “This Beautiful Film We’ve Made”.
I can’t wait to see him in concert again in 2023!

You think it's daring to tell a woman "I want you but I don't know if I need you"
but Meatloaf said "I want you I need you, but there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you"
and Bruce Springsteen said "You ain't a beauty, but hey your alright".
See how your night goes after saying that.
