Carter and Abby talk/fight about what happened in Africa and why Carter left in the first place. Clip from Season 10 Episode 1 "Now What?".
It's sad they broke up, but this was an important turning point for both of them. Abby finishing Med school and finally becoming a Doctor like she always wanted & John being with Kem, going back to Africa, the Carter Center. This allowed both of them to truly embrace the paths both of their lives took. And still being friends after it ended was a nice cherry on top.
And marrying the man she truly loved Luka
Abbys reaction to Luka being dead was priceless. When Carter was trying to track down Lukas family info, Abby was in tears. Never seen her get that upset over Mark, Greg, gallant etc. told me plenty just how important Luka is to her and how she always stood by him for support even before they got back together in season 12.
Never liked Carter with Abby. He tried to change her and was way too judgmental. They both helped each other at different points, but Abby and Luka are a much better couple.
Yeah they were good friends to each other or i think he is not changing her

She really does belong with Luka she was with him first. I did like Carter and Abby too but he doesn’t deserve her. When he proposed to her no answer at all. She probably didn’t love him that much that way he loves her and she did say he didn’t want her to love him. She wasn’t ready for a serious relationship or marriage she was married before and it didn’t last. They were better of as friends anyway like they was at first.
@@miaward1792 yeah he likes her he want to marry her but she isn't , i think she even doesn't love him as much as he like she is just passing time with him .
But they are really good friends to eachother
@@miaward1792 Abby never loved Carter. It was just physical attraction. They were better off just staying friends. Carter expected her to change into who he felt was right for him. He expected her to choose him over Her brother. She even told Carter you don’t want me to love you. She does love Luka and she said it many times to him.
Carter would still be a jerk because if he really love Abby he wouldn’t want to change her he would love her to who she is.
This was "Now What?" from Season 10. Chuny told Abby at the end that Luka was "dead" in Africa. Of course, he was actually just thought to be dead and missing. Carter went back and found him.
I love Carter ... but sometimes he gets on my nerves!!!!

I don't think Carter was in love with Abby. He loved her like friends. Luka was in love with Abby.
Abby and Carter have so many parallels to Mark and Susan. With a very important difference of Abby and Carter actually dated for a while. The bad timing, getting involved in the family drama(Carter helping with Abby's bipolar mother and brother, and Mark helping with Susan's pregnant alcoholic sister). Oh, and the jealous significant others. I think both pairings had more chemistry as friends.

Where is the rest of the scene? Man, I don't care who wake away, what I love about this scene is Abby's reaction when she found out Luka is dead.

I think both walked away at some point...they belonged each other but they didn't realise it soon enough, they were too busy with their own problems...love the couple, too bad that ended...just bad timing...=/

Her character was better as a doctor. She was a mess when she was a nurse

I think with the exception of the time Abby was with Carter it was obvious Abby had feelings for Luka. From her jealousy toward that one girl who aborted Luka's baby over concern for Luka, to crashing on Luka's couch in season 8. And in season 10 her reaction to Luka being dead. and completely obsessing about needing to see him when she saw he was back, and Looking away everytime he and Gillian hugged proved that they were always endgame.
@@lauraschoenborn3544 well of course Abby always had feelings for Luka. They both had them for each other lurking under the surface it just about right timing. Luka spiraled bad during the Carby season. He did some serious pining for her and he didn’t waste any time making a move on her after Sam dumped him. Luka always said he missed Abby. He’s been in love with her since season 7. Abby did a good job at pretending none of the other women bothered her when it came to Luka. She was heartbroken when she thought Luka was dead, Susan had her arm on Abby when Carter was making calls to find out what happened to Luka. When Africa came up again in season 12, Abby did not want him going and brought up what happened before and Luka actually discussed it with her instead of taking off. When he didn’t go, I truly believe she fell in love with him even more because unlike before Luka chose her and carter couldn’t care less.
Abby was an annoying needy girl
