Thank you, Melissa. This is really helpful! Im sat down tonight drafting my testimony for my coming baptism. Im an ex new ager of 30 years and was struggling to separate new age and new thought. This was really informative. God bless 🙏🏻

I have read and studied on Jehovah witness, Catholicism, Mormonism, New Age for years. But listening to your videos has given me an even deeper understanding of these false teachings. I’m choosing my words carefully lol. thanks, Melissa.

Thank you Tim and Melissa, I was just speaking to my husband about some of these ideas yesterday, but never heard the word "New Thought". I had placed all these ideas in the new age bucket. Thank you for breaking down all of this.

Thank you for this video. I love Melissa. She taught me about New Thought being in the church and deceiving so many. People need to know Kenneth Hagin took New Thought and wrote books and did not tell Christians the content was not from the Bible. Then Copeland has expanded on it.

Wow! What an interview! Melissa, your testimony is beautiful and hearing God’s redemption over your life is so transformative. It’s proof that no one is too far gone. We are never beyond His love.
I used to be involved in the New Age and this interview is such a blessing to me.
Tim, you’re a rising TH-camr and have a gift for interviewing and natural conversation. You’re a great listener and your questions really drove the interview forward for Melissa to share even more openly.
Looking forward to more interviews and videos! God bless you both!

Such a great interview! Love learning the distinction between new age and new thought. Christians need to understand these things so we can shine the light of biblical truth to those who are confused and deceived. I’ve been following Melissa’s channel for four years. It has blessed me tremendously.

@MelissaDougherty your channel and your ministry has been a huge blessing for me. I spent the first decade or so of my Christian life deeply invested in the Word of Faith teachings until my husband died suddenly of cancer and my faith was so completely shattered that I full out ran away from God and church and faith for the better part of another decade. When I stopped running from my savior I had soooo many questions about what I really believed. Your channel and others like you as well as apologetics in general and now moving into church history have been a lifeline for me.
I will be one of the first in line and am so excited to read your book. God bless you and keep you!!

Hi Melissa, 4 minutes in you just hit on why I became interested in listening to you. Talking about why people watch your page is because they are hearing things in the churches that dont ring true, yet if we question it we are made to feel as though we are trouble makers. And maybe we dont have all the skills to battle some who know every line and verse yet fail to interpret it properly. So You put into words what we know in our hearts to be true, or untrue. You validate us !!! Thank you Melissa. May the Lord bless you and keep you grounded in the faith.

This is one of my favorite videos of Melissa. Thank you Tim for interviewing her. It was interesting and I learned some things too.
I can relate to being a woman and wanting answers and I love to learn and research too. Apologetics was so helpful for me too when I was looking for answers no one could give me in church.

I was once in a garage band of dark rock. And I was into Ruth Montgomery and Edgar Casey. From there I jumped into charismatic movement.I understand exactly what you are saying.

At the 51:00 minute mark you shared something that made me feel so seen. I also have never felt like I fit in with most Christian women’s bible studies or groups because I too like to be challenged to think deeply. How have you been able to find other women to study with and be challenged?

Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I want to turn from my sins, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe He died for my sins and that You raised Him to life. I want Him to come into my heart and to take control of my life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord from this day forward. In Jesus' Name, amen."

I just read Melissa’s article written for Cross Examined, “Yes, There is a Difference Between New Age and New Thought.” This better helped me understand the ideas. Now I’m wondering if transubstantiation is New Thought since it is meta-physical. I’m seeing Christians leave evangelical churches and turn to Episcopalianism,, Catholicism and Greek Orthodoxy. It seems to be an attraction to right-brain thinking without balancing it with an accurate understanding of the Bible.

The Gospel according to Paul is that Jesus died on the cross for our sins according to the scriptures ...that he was buried..that he was raised on the third day....that he appered to the Apostles and many other people goving convicing proof of his ressurection. Those who believe are saved by that gospel if you hold firmly to it. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul said that easily under 30 seconds and defined that as " the gospel."

Hello @Melissa there are many denominations, I often wonder how do we ever become one body. The duality of my beliefs is right and yours is wrong has done more damage to the body of Christ.
Most evangelicals are known for what they hate rather than how we love. We could serve the world better by understanding that our calling is love- we could judge people but it has never resolved the world crisis.
