    As a very basic knitter, this looks very doable.
    Really appreciate how easy you have made it.

    I'm mainly a crochter(hooker lol) and have been crocheting since I was 7 and am 54 at the moment. Taught myself to knit about 12 years ago, and thankfully know how to cable. I've been diagnosed with late onset MS, and starting to get neuropathy in my hands so I've changed to knitting to try and keep my muscle memory going as I need to use both hands more in knitting than crocheting. I just wanted to say your tutorial is the best I've seen on here for teaching people how to do cables. You are thorough and just the right pace. Anyhow, just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful/pretty pattern/tutorial. I needed something quick to knit for two last minute gifts for my young nephews girlfriends. I had overheard them saying they hate hats and can't find ear warmers at the store that they like. I really like the optional twisted seam! Now they have options on how to wear it. I've made many headbands, but this one is my fav. by far. Made 1 today and now working on my second now. Keep up the awesome work and thanks again. I am now a subscriber. God bless,Merry Christmas and a happy,healthy prosperous New Year to you!

      SYNFULLY WKD: hi there. You are safe here we embrace the hookers!! I’m a beginner knitter as well, I have done some hats, scarves, and a couple of plain headbands and just recently did my first cables as cup cosy. I thought I would give this a go. I’m doing it with 10mm though I have every size even quarter & half sizes of every needle but a 9mm it’s typical for me though. I have some hand problems due to nerve damage I bought some lightweight wooden needles they weren’t cheap but they were easier for me. Now you can get what they call stubby’s. Basically they are small but easier to use. I have kept them in mind for myself! I also bought interchangeable needles (an expensive mistake) I wouldn’t recommend them as it’s difficult to screw in e and tighten & untighten. My hubby says he can do them…..yep he sure can he can also loose lots of stitches as well!!
      I have a full kit for crochet but I can’t do it, not even a chain,,,nope not an iota! I’m glad you can still keep busy with knits we can’t give up we can’t let illnesses take everything away from us so quickly. I’m rambling again!!
      I hope you had a lovely blessed Christmas 🎄 and you will have a fab new year. I might see you around on here.
      Take Care & Keep Safe x

      @@SynfullyWkd67 I’m so glad they liked them. I’m knitting a couple now. I did my sister a couple of mug cosies. I wrapped one around a mug and placed a larger inside. (Now I know my sister is 20yr older than me but she can’t use that as an excuse.) she thought they were headbands and said they didn’t fit!! Omg what a hoot…I am finishing one now so I can give it to her tomorrow!
      I’m also pleased you had a lovely Christmas.
      I hope your new year is filled with joy health and happiness.
      Happy knitting 🧶 now you have joined the dark side.

    I can't wait to try this! It may be too big a jump for me as I've only knit squares before, and not very good ones at that, but I really need an ear warmer! This pattern is so beautiful and without even knowing how cables are done, I've been so scared of them- I'm amazed at how simple you made the process! Thank you for explaining so thoroughly! I'll come back and update my comment when I've made my headband :D

    The diagram for row 6 indicates knit 4 after C3F. In the video however, you indicate knit 3 after C3F. This row ends with 4 knit stitches.

    I love this, thank you so much for this great tutorial. I do have one question and hope you can help me. I only have a large ball of chunky wool, not really chunky wool and the label says the following on it. BERNAT SOFTEE chunky and has little boxes 4x4 8mm or US 11 needles 14R 11ST and I wonder could I use this yarn and use the size needles etc as you have. I know how to knit stitches but not how to make an item. ....Thanks for any help...pat

    Do you have a pattern or directions on how to make the cable section a different color? I am new to cables but loving this series and I have made two gloves and one headband. Now I have some yarn left over and curious if I could make another headband with two colours? Thanks 🙏

    • @TheSnugglery
      @TheSnugglery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Look into 'intarsia.' That's the kind of colorwork you're looking for to make the cable it's own color 😊

    • @alexandraderry7086
      @alexandraderry7086 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh thank you! I searched for that and couldn’t find a simple version- they have more fine yarn, smaller needles, and more complicated patterns so it’s hard to learn the basics- ❤I’d love to see you do it even a couple rows I’m super new to knitting but really enjoy your teaching method :)

    Is it OK to make a cable out of eight knits. With a total of 16 knits cast on

    • @TheSnugglery

      yup! especially if you wanted it even chunkier 😉

  • @irenew6202

    Can you use 4 ply yarn also?

    • @TheSnugglery
      @TheSnugglery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you wanted to use the same needle size and stitch count, you could use 3 strands of 4ply at the same time to equal the bulkiness. For a lighter yarn and smaller needles, you could add stitches to the garter stitch border until your piece is as wide as you'd like, as long as you keep the 6 stitch stockinette in the center for the cable. I hope that makes sense!
