Oh wow. I think this video might just be the one to finally push me over to the side of "okkkkk I guess I also can believe I have no structural damage to my spine, SI joint and hips even though I'm terrified it really might be" 😂. I've been watching your videos lately, Jim, and after months of slowly arriving at the conclusion (with the help of psychotherapy) that these chronic debilitating pains I've had for years are intensely linked to my stressed brain and history of trauma, repressed emotions and mainly (in my case) intense fear since I was a child, watching this I found myself laughing. I am very very grateful for all the spectacular content you share, I've been watchig the "letting it come and go" one twice a day and it truly helps. Thankyou so much to both of you. I will be listening to this many times. Amazing. THANKYOU.
Finally, I heard someone discuss "bracing" ! I did it for over 50 years and ended up with cervical dystonia. I am hoping your videos can help me with this disabling curse.
I think Jim is the best pain therapist on the internet. My opinion. I’ve seen many videos but I go back to him and will be joining his group soon from uk 🇬🇧 I need help with my pain
Jim and Simon, great success story! This is Terry, my story was published over a month ago. So true about starting out slowly and building belief and confidence. Then the 9's and 10's are not so scary because you have proof that this is Neuroplastic. I did graded exposure then I jumped into Flooding Therapy and that's what broke the spell for me, I called it's bluff! Also I did the same thing, I would write on my 6' kitchen chalk board which symptom I was going to challenge that day, very systematic! I would not take "no" for an answer from my brain. Jim's "Get Going" and "No, You Didn't Do Too Much" videos were the most helpful for me. I would watch Jim's other videos throughout the day because they reinforced my training. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Like you Simon, I went from mostly house bound to fully functional is about 4 months! I know your story will help others! Jim was my guid ing light and absolute trust in his knowledge and understanding is what saved my life, literally.
You hit it out of the ballpark Simon... Love your story and your enthusiasm, and how honest and REAL you are. Thank you so so much for sharing your story. It was very timely for me, especially what you said at the end about once being in hell and now being in heaven. AND... what are you going to do, enjoy heaven all by yourself? :-D You're TELLING people about the hope & healing you found. YES! Last night we held an event at my church where for the first time I enjoyed speaking in person about brain science and healing. It was just a small group of women, and they were SO interested and receptive! It feels really important and exciting... not to mention empowering for me! So grateful I can share the story of my healing journey and the miraculous changes that came about because I learned about neuroplasticity!! I'm on a major high over it all this morning... so I really connected to your vibe about the importance of spreading the word. Bless you and thank you!!! (You too, Jim... I told the group about you and your history specifically, BTW. They were impressed.)
Thanks Simon for putting yourself out there, I resonate with the hiding and perfectionism with writing / art work - you’ve inspired me to tackle that area of my life more head on because it is quite triggering. Thanks Jim for all you do, your videos are the best.
Dr Sarno noticed in his practice that TMS pain was by far perceived more painful than pain from a true injury. When Simon mentioned pain from pushing the buttons of the remote control. Bingo! Simon also mentioned he felt his "life was paralyzed ". Again, his emotions were being manifested by physical pain.
Hi Jim! I think it would be awesome if you added the symptoms or diagnoses they had in the thumbnail or title. I know you put it in the descriptions most of the time. But I think it would be so helpful
I can understand why people ask and want to know what the symptoms are. But one of the main reasons I don’t do this is because all symptoms are the same if they’re coming from your brain-one persons IBS is another person’s fibromyalgia is another person’s chronic fatigue. I think this is truly one of the things we need to understand. It doesn’t matter what symptoms you’re having as long as it’s coming from your brain we work with it in the same way. I don’t look at any symptoms differently when working with them.
@@thepainpt Agree it is all the same thing and I don't watch recovery stories based on their symptoms. It is still fascinating though why our brains choose to go to specific areas of our body and it is so different for each of us, a real puzzle
@@thepainpt I def get that if people are aware of TMS. I’ve just heard many stories about people who hopelessly google their conditions followed by recovery story or healing or curable and your videos wouldn’t pop up if it wasn’t specified. I would hate for someone to miss out on that hope because they don’t understand that all symptoms are TMS.
Wow what a great story .. thank you so much for sharing your journey with all of the bumps on the road. That’s kinda where I am at.. I know 💯 it’s TMS, still with BS and getting there.. Thank you Jim for having the success stories and for sharing so much with us to help us during our journeys..🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is a success story that really resonate to me. Thank you! I also have the challenge with the language because I speak Swedish. The resources I use is on TH-cam because then I can use the scription (cc) and paus and rewind if i need . Thank you for this channel and this success story ❤
This was the first video I watched of someone’s story on your channel. Very inspiring! Just found your channel recently. I’m a DPT with my own issues with TMS. Would love to connect more
Every single story the onset is never from an injury even post injury years later. I can say after trying this and still doing this work if you get pain out of nowhere and didn’t have an injury it’s TMS period. Where TMS gets tricky is when you had an injury and the pain and symptoms continue years and years after.
I have a lot of symptoms too. Unfortunately I have had one thing or another since as long as I can remember (over 40 years). My symptoms change as well and currently it's in my arms, hands, left lower back and left leg. It's truly awful. I too have spent countless thousands on a huge range of therapists.
Dpdr is TMS , it’s basically a extreme form of anxiety . You are OK , take a deep breath and let it go and keep moving forward It can goo away in 2 days or 2 months or 2 years , it will fade my friend
Fantastic. Did you move out of your mother’s home and get off antidepressants? Those are probably helping buffer the pain. No offense, I hope he’s living med free as a fully functioning adult. Absolutely believe in this IF it’s functional and mental. Can’t hurt to work on emotional symptoms brought on by structural as well.
Firstly please please can you contact me. I’m in Montreal and this is exactly one of my challenges. French is not my first language and I’ve felt completely alone in this here because I’ve never found anyone else in my city that deals with any of this now I realize it’s because of the language. Also I’ve seen 38 therapists in this city (crazy enough myofascial John Barnes) was my next step here . Make me feel like I’m the only one in this city that has debilitating pain and symptoms, like they have never treated people like me and telling me I’m hopeless. I thought to myself is it possible in a city of 5 million I’m the only one who can’t function ?? Second fibro was not my diagnosis as a matter of fact they don’t know what my issue is but I’m post injury going on 6 years. This work has helped the all over body pain but not the original site of injury could you please share with me some of the resources you have here? I went to the US 7 times and I can’t do it anymore but not finding what I need here because you’re the first one I’ve come across that is here !! Thanks

I'm with you on that! I'm rejoining for November after a 2 month absence and will be having some private sessions as well.

You should put the main symptoms so ppl find it easier
Well, they used to tell patients that it could be a mental issue, but there was outrage, so I'm not surprised they don't mention it now.
