      - *you are talking in EMOTION / FEELING* (which is wrong, but the text needs to be short to make it readable)

I also wonder how many men who become stepfathers had previous children. Every man i know who became a stepfather already had his own child from previous relationships.
My dad became a stepfather after me, my best friend's stepfather has a son, and one of my cousins has a stepfather with 2 previous children. So that's 3 for 3 on the stepfathers i know, and i feel like at that point the guy will let it slide a little more because he's also asking the woman to become a stepmom.

  • @SYLTales
    @SYLTales 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +51

I'm hitting 59 in a week, and the dating pool is extremely limited. Assuming I was looking (and I'm not), I'd date a woman with adult children (like mine) and want no more. When I was divorced in 2004, it would have been a deal-breaker on multiple levels.
In my age range, the pool is limited to three types of women:
    1. Young women with daddy issues. I don't want to be Daddy 2.0.
    2. Women so crazy they've never been married. They can usually be identified by the massive number of tattoos they have. They're usually really great in the sack, but too crazy to be in a LTR with.
    3. Divorcees who've had one or more bad marriages. They have so much baggage that they basically need therapy, and I don't want to be their therapist.

    • @shmoopiebear
      @shmoopiebear 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Been there. Even if the children are grown up there is still plenty of family drama to deal with. And if the candidate has a couple of divorces, added to it a considerable body count with lots of baggage and damage unresolved, then forget it. The more the red flags the more you should avoid it from the get go. I don't care about the pluses when the minuses are overwhelming. There is a reason why these women are single in perpetuity. Might as well be detached and go full monk mode.

@@marcuswalker6764 id say it depends on a few factors though, age, location and situation, in this day and age there are more women who will see a guy with a kid as a hinderence to their lives and will be asking the question to themselves of where's the mom? And what can he do for me if he has to prioritise his kid over me And will answer it themselves more oftenly negatively the women on the pannel proved this when they answered no to dating a single dad a women in her 20s and early 30s are less likely to want to date someone with a kid same as any guy, mid to late 30s and on wards they are more likely to give it a chance but will then they complain about the exact same things that guys complain about when dating single moms, e.g not a priority, always canceling because of their kids lack of intamicy due to the kids always being there yes once older the kids arent so much of a factor but this tends to be for those in their mid 40s onwards if you're 35 with a 3 or 4 year old you are not going to have an easy time dating majority of the time,
I've heard of and seen more relationships of single parents fail then have worked out and while they have a variety of different issues theres always one common issue through out them all and thats a lack of time to spent alone together e.g attention on them and having the time to actually get to know each other in person,
Yeah you will find both men and women who this isnt an issue for but i would argue that when you're younger those are the execptions to the rule these exceptions become the rule as you get older due to the fact most people by the time they are 40 have had kids so to disqualify people who also have kids makes no sense
But i will agree that its easier for men to date as single parents than it is for women but that doesn't mean its easy for them to maintain a relationship its not all about the getting into a relationship can they keep it and maintian it majority of the time no they can't

It's a shame that many people see single moms this way. There are a lot of good women out there with kids working good jobs. I know a bunch of people that had kids young and it didn't work out and they got married later to good men. They are even active in the kids sports and things. Most people get child support for the kids from the dads. Even if not the case if a women is working and contributing then once married you share all financial responsibilities one has like student debt etc. what about all the single fathers out there. Would Brian ferl the same about women not wanting to marry a man because he has a kid. They are paying child support most of the time which is a big chunk of money that is lost in the new marriage. My brother in law is probably the best husband and father i know. He had a kid young and it did not work out with the mother because she was a nut and cheated. He was a better candidate than most men without children for a husband because he is a great guy. He got married and had two more kids with his wife. What about all the singke moms that lost their husbands with young kids and they are not dingle by choice. They don't deserve to find someone and be happy after lising the kids father. I don't think a single mom doing only fans is a great example of what is out there as far as single moms go. There are women that leave abusive relationships to protect themselves and their kids and are single parents. Should they just stay and get the crap kicked out of them so they are not single parents. All the blame can not only be put on the woman. People viewing single dads differently than single moms is a problem in society.

Well one of the reasons why men think this way began in 1991 with court tv, we now have televised on YT courts and men can see for themselves the misery of family court or divorce court and the joy of child support hearings where men get raked over the coals and get to see their kids for one weekend in 4 and a Wednesday thrown in for good measure, if they are not ill and if the mom isn't playing the deny access to the kids because you have a new girlfriend and she's not happy that you moved on.

Saying as a single mom is hard because I refuse to put my kids in a situation that could potentially lead to them being abused or hurt in any way. Bringing strangers around your kids is completely irresponsible and selfish! It’s a proven fact that children are 29x more likely to be abused if there is an outside stranger in the home with them! There’s this idea that single parents are more “mature” due to the fact that they’re raising another human but this could not be further from the truth. There is no benefit (to the non-parent) to dating a SP. Alternatively, the SP only benefits from dating someone without kids. They date some who can prioritize them and their kid(s), they get a free babysitter/provider, and they date someone who is open-minded and caring enough to give a chance to someone who brings little or nothing to the table. Respect yourself and stay far away from a SP.

All the women happy to marry a man with kids,
you should really think about it from the kids POV.
The "evil stepmother" trope is a trope for a reason.
I had a stepmother after my mum died from breast cancer...
and even though she wasn't overtly evil, like the Hansel & Gretel step mother, she was more like the Cinderella step mother.
.She was definately biased to her own kids. Mothers cant help that.
But with women, it all comes out sideways, pass aggressively. They are never straightforward with stuff like this, like men are.
My sister and I were systematically excluded, picked on, shamed, gaslit, punished, and eventually evicted.
First, from our bedrooms (we each got moved to respective attic spaces, to give our bedrooms to her kids, because of... _"reasons"_ that she cooked up somehow.
Within the first year, StepM had convinced my Dad that my sister was trying to "split up the family" (oh the projection!🙆‍♂️), and to send her to boarding school, 12 hours drive away. She was 13. My sister spent her entire adolescence coming-of-age years alone, in another state - that might aswell have been another universe.
She only came home in school holidays, to work all day, every day on the farm with me.
I was 11, and with my sister now gone, I became the resident "whipping boy" thereafter..and was picked on over the next few years until at 17, I was sick of being threatened to get kicked out of home, and so just left.
My father was the best father before all this, but the step M poisoned him against us...and even now, my father, my sister and I are all estranged.
It does untold damage, I cannot even begin to tell you, here.
We would have been infinitely better off if dad hadn't remarried, just a year after our mother died. We would have at least still had each other.
Even the family farm, and Dad's wealth got frittered away on Grammar School fees for her kids, trips to USA, and Europe, parties...an extravagant wedding...just having dad spend outside of his income. Being a creative, Dad would earn big money at times, but then it could go from feast to famine, depending on getting work.
And so the family farm , the boat the plane... everything got lost to bankruptcy a year or two after I had left home.
And I blame the stepM for all of this. Dad betrayed us, too, and dont get it twisted, I'm plenty mad at him, too...
But the StepM was the X factor, the sneaky, conniving...serpent in his ear...
And the thing is, to most people looking on, they see her as a saintly christian women, befallen to tragedy when her husband died.. (before Dad)...
I have come to understand that female nature becomes toxic when being a step mother. Especially if she has kids of her own.
They feel entitled to _all_ of the resources the father earns, and resents seeing any of it being spent on his kids.
Since i have realised this, so much makes sense. I could yell you so many things that would make your blood boil...and it all fits this notion...that StepM resents all resources spent on his kids.
But do you think she has a clue about this...?? Of course not!
She would never dream of taking personal inventory on this or anything else!
I have lost my father, my sister, my inheritance... everything.
Don't be a step mother. You will become a villain, whether you can ever admit it or not.

The video starts with a single mom saying she has no problem getting the men that she wants. Honey, if you had the man that you wanted I’m sure you’d be at home with him taking care of business. Not on a podcast trying to convince the world that you can get any man you want. Jheez 😫

No one tries to rationalize more than a woman who knows they're wrong

Brian be lying when he says shit like “give me 3 more minutes” or “we are about to finish” but doesn’t abide by his word. Someone on the panel needs to hold him accountable about that.

Love how they keep restricting free speech by not allowing this word or that word. Can’t say that word to many times etc.. Grow the hell up TH-cam and stop restricting peoples freedoms.

It is silly. It not only restricts free speech, in a free speech culture, but it is only done to appease a small percentage of people who get upset by hearing a “word”( or they pretend to).

The type of man these women want would more likely than not, not want a baby mama. The men that would date them and take them seriously would be ghosts to them. Men who don't have options are usually the type of me who take on another family.

I would also say this is another one of those situations where Brian needs someone Andrew to shut these women when they continue to argue for the exception and not the rule.
