Freightliner looks fabulous….!!!!,. so glad you have not done a silly looking ,stretched wheelbase conversion on Jolly Green, and also not put an oversized front bumper on her as well………she looks perfect as she is….fantastic …!!!..⭐️👍🇺🇸🇬🇧
Looking foward to seein ol jolly green on the road very nice work you wouldnt believe how helpful your vids have been in planning my own cabover restoration project
That's a beautiful truck! From the good ol truckin days. Jolly Green will look even better hooked to a trailer! Now all you need is a good ol independent truck stop to park at and get coffee with breakfast! 🤠👍
Same here 35 years ago. I remember every other truck on the highways being a cabover ,all the way up to the early 2000's. Now it's like one in a million.
Good to see you are back!,! Season 2. That’s hilarious!!! SHE’S ALIVE!!!! You really got a good unit there. It’s all going to be about elbow grease now shining up the rough! Have fun with it!
That brings back great memories ! I drove a 1983 for 10 years OTR , both my kids were conceived in the bunk ! Lol . Mine had the 9513 Roadranger and like yours leaf springs all around ! My wife use to sit on the doghouse next to me a lot ( your doghouse is smaller then mine was ) Old dirty 30 ( her name ) and me ran over 1 million miles ( 2 rebuilds ) and never let me down !!!!! I’m retired now and might buy one just to pull my 5th wheel around ! Like I said Great Memories !
I drove a 1975 White Freightliner small cam 350 Cummins with a 9513 it was one of my favorite trucks of all times and I drove a lot of different trucks in 43 years. I am also retired but still love trucks.
Hi from the U.K. over here cab overs are most of our trucks so nice to see them, I got into truck’s forty years ago back when it was Volvo f88 (look them up) similar to what you have there anyway like your style so keep it up, thanks markUK
Hi mate just seen your video on the freightliner start it’s great to hear the old 14 liter Cummins again I had a Ford transcontinental over hear in the uk mine was only rated at 290 bhp but with the 9 speed Eaton box and Rockwell rear axle what a great truck to run pulled like a train and so reliable I was sad to see it go when it was sold keep up the great video’s love to see em here in the uk best regs Howie now retired from truck driving after 25 yrs on car transporters over here stay safe 👍😎😀
It has to warm up them old trucks didn't run smoothly until they got around 180 degrees. I have a 93 freightliner cabover and a 93 fld. And they both run like that until they warm up 26 years in this game and my grandfather taught me everything I kn.but you are doing a awesome job with yours keep them coming
Hey bud, glad to see JG up and going again. I got his sister, snow white. Having to do pretty much all the same stuff to it too. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work.
You know I’m happy your back good video with jolly green Freightliner it was good to hear it running please make more videos you are doing a good job do you ever watch that channel Bruce Wilson the Man in Florida he’s got a Blue freightliner this like that one fixed up real sharp but he went and got A brand new Peterbilt hood truck but the reason he did he takes his wife and kid with him he does not drive on the road all time he has A tractor sale Business he uses that truck to make deliveries he goes all over the country be safe my friend keep the good good video come in
The Rig is coming along fine, how about spending a couple of hours on the interior, dash, and gauges. You probably have priorities and the interior will come later. It is starting to look really good!
I drove a silver one a few decades ago. Big cam 300 cummins 12--5- 09 trans. Walking beam rear suspension. Pulled a lowboy. The engine went down number 5 cyl was pinholed from electrolisis. I tore it down and did a in frame new bearings sleeves and pistons and three new heads ect. A far as I know its still going strong
Awesome , I'll 2nd the comment on the Power Service Diesel Kleen , it'll help alot , I'd try just a quart at 1st , the interior looks like it'll clean up nice , Sharp Freight Shaker 👍👍👍👍
hey I'd recommend using the "Diesel Kleen +cetane boost" the silver bottle in the warmer months. use it every few tanks to keep the injectors clean and fuel system lubricated
The Cummins will actually idle high if there is air in the fuel system. From sitting and the fact that the filter housing was partially empty leads me to believe it’s sucking some air. If you had been able to get it out and make the motor work and actually give it some throttle I’m betting the idle would smooth out and come down. Every time I take the pump apart on my dads 350 Cummins it’s a little bit of a process to bleed the air out and get the idle down and smooth.
Great video I have 1994 modal am going keep old truck its been good truck to me easy to work on when cab is up when buy truck 7 years ago cab would not rise up so replace the lift pump there not cheap pump not unless buy use one I buy new one never has a rise cab issue any more after replace with new pump also I had to replace starter my self easy to take off I had to use a pump jack and 2 milk Crete to hold starter. In place until could get bolts started 👍
When hooking up two batteries always hook your leads (+ - ) + to one battery, - to the other battery! You hooked the jumpers up right, but the - should have been hooked to the - terminal on the far battery! That way you are combining the two batteries together and drawing off them and charging them evenly! The way you hooked them, you were drawing off one battery, and the other battery was just jumping it!
We called those transmissions " Glorified 9 speeds ". I sure miss those old cabovers, especially the Freightliners and Internationals. I never drove the cabover Peterbilts or Kenworths, but I suspect that even with them, after a few hundred thousand miles, a guy could use an ass and lower back transplant, even with air ride suspension and cab. They had their good points though- you could turn them onto some tight and narrow streets even with 53' trailers, or maneuver around and back up in tight docks at shippers or receivers.
i hate putting 4 batteries in a truck i dont use often....one goes bad it always seems to take out all of them. i disconnect the negatives on each battery when i know they are going to be sitting for awhile. that is when i remember....batteries are my nemesis.
Good to see you back buddy. I'm from New Zealand. Boy the video production must take for ever. I wanna do what you do with my truck and put it up on TH-cam. Got the channel but no video's yet, not to mention limited knowledge and money LOL.

Full throttle at operational temp, in his case, I guess that will work.

Greetings to you! I think a suitable name for this car would be "Fantomas"! Let's call it that!
We called those transmissions " Glorified 9 speeds ".
