- Got a chance to do a water bash with the Proboat Zelos 36 Twin today. Very nice water conditions and the boat did well. She's running Octura X447's prepped by Chris Hoffman (Dasboata) and 4, 3s Giant power Graphene lipos. 6s per motor. I never really got a full speed pass as I was going for 70 but she ran a clean 69 mph. I know it has more in it but we'll try again soon!

Jason C. Thanks man! Yeah the Zelos is a killer and stable boat. My Dad has the M41. He loves it but it's not quite as stable. Not sure why Traxxas makes everything plastic but I'm sure that has something to do with it. Pro boat makes some great hull designs!👊👊👍✌

Rich Duperbash Thanks so much brother! She'll rip no doubt!💪 I was never able to get into it all the way since I didn't want to flip it. Had no way of retrieving it! LOL This is a nice little cove area of the lake. The lake is huge with 1,000 miles of shoreline. Hopefully once my big boat gets out of the shop I'll get her in the big water! You need one now man! Rich Duperbash dude that would be awesome! A challenge would be nice I'm sure! Thomas built a killer rig with the Siren. 💪He's a RC genius! Definitely a MEGA send worthy machine! I thought about building a 6s capable Granite 4x4. I've seen it done on the Arrma forum. Looks like a fun project! 😎👊💪

Nice run good speed. awesome boat, if you want more speed try the replacement motor DYNM3831. can see you run the old motor in yours, a set of OSE flex cables is also recommended . Then you should easy hit 75-80 mph.
Kevin Thorsen Thanks man! Yeah, I should be getting more out of her..I do need a set of the new motors no doubt! That's in my near future plan. I actually lost a Dasboata prop last week at the lake when my flex cable broke. I've got some ABC 1716's pre ordered with him. OSE flex cables might be a good idea as well. Thanks for the input!😎👊✌
RC DUDE81 yeah the Stock flex cables is garbage I also broke one out of the box so differently go for the OSE they are awesome quality. About the ABC props they are no lift props so you’re boat will blow over very easy I tested the ABC 1715 on mine and electronics also get why more hot . So teardrop you’re water inlet that will help whit temperatures
Kevin Thorsen Thanks again for the info! I'm definitely ordering the OSE flex cables! I know my 3910 motors get hotter than the new versions too. I mainly use this boat for speed runs and my other two for bashing. Just gotta get her dialed in!

yeah I bought a traxxas spartan and had it for about a week it was a spur of the moment choice so I didn't have any chance to research but after that week I found this boat and I was like yes traxxas is a ok brand but plastic is not the best I feel that plastic makes the boat too light the it wobbles pro boat and fiber glass are the way to go 100% great video btw

I totally agree!👌The new Proboat Sonicwake is plastic but it's much more durable than the Spartan plus its self righting!😍The only problem with fiberglass boats is cracking or hull seam splitting in a high speed crash. What I've done is reinforce the entire hull with fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin. Makes for a tough as nails hull!!😎👊🤘
Traxxas uses plastic so they can keep there price down but if they used fiberglass and raised the price for that more people would buy it becuase it is more durable

Troy Speed Rc Thanks for watching bro! She's a water ripper for sure! Boats don't have gearing but you would change props for more speed. All you have is the motor, shaft and prop. Too much pitch or too big of prop and you'll have heat issues like a large pinion on a car. It's all about the Kv of the motor and what props it will allow. I went from a 42mm to a 47mm prop on this boat but it was professionally prepped. The boat will run pretty warm if I open it up a lot but it's not too bad. I can put an ABC 1814 prop on this boat and get it running mid 80's but that prop is always out of stock! lol It's definitely a trial and error getting the dialed in but that's the fun part!

Man I just bought 2 more extra lipos 3s to make 6s each side. But it ain't running any different just normal slow speed. Haven't change the props yet still stock but I would imagine it will run faster than just having 3s on each side
Try re-calibrating your esc.. my spartan was not calibrated or programmed right and when I finally programmed it to sport mode... man... what a difference. Well over 50mph lol

RCbashing the KRATON Great minds think alike! lol She was running good and smooth! I like to run 4 packs to more firmly plant the boat at high speeds but 2 6s packs would lighten it up for more top end. I'm going to be doing more testing with it to get it dialed in! I also forgot my nylon rudder breakaway screw was broken from last year so my rudder kept popping up. I think that was hurting me in this vid. WATER BASH ON BRO! 👊

The hull is good unless you crash into something or have too many high speed blowovers. It is fiberglass and will get stress cracks. I'd recommend getting heavy duty flex cables from offshoreelectrics.com. Beast of a boat for sure!😎👊
Just bought the new BJ42..
I wish they still made this boat b/c I would have gotten this one.. They only plus thing I like about my new BJ42 is the long run times vs my #Sonicwake36.....Plus, with a prop swap from Chris Hoffman the boat is plenty fast for me since I am not trying to break any of #MrMad2424 records. #RCDUDE81 - do you even still have this boat? Anyhow I just picked up a new Feilun FT011 65CM 2.4G Brushless RC Boat for my recovery boat for the BJ42..
What Motors did they put in your Boat Dynamite ???? - ????Kv ? Also, what is the C rating on those Lipos ?
They are Dynamite 2000kv motors. These were the old 3910's too. The new version motors 3831's are faster. The lipos are 6000mah 75C I believe.😎👊
My friend has this boat, on 6s it barely does 30 mph, supposed to be hitting faster then that I believe. Were not sure why either, any ideas?
josh lausch Yeah something is definitely wrong! The Zelos 36 will run 55-60 mph stock. How many batteries is he running? Is he running two 6s lipos's, One for each motor or 4 ,3s? If he's running these batteries in series then not sure why he has no speed....If he's running 2, 3s pack only, make sure you're using the series adapter that comes with the boat to make 6s power. ,Another thing could be if he's taken his shafts out to grease them, maybe he accidentally put them in backwards. This will cause a very slow boat and ruin or unravel the flex shaft. Maybe his motor wires are not connected correctly. Left motor should spin the prop right and right motor should spin left. That's all can thing of unless he has a bad ESC or motors...Hope this helps. Let me know if he figures it out! 👊👊
Did you ever address the HOT motor? Why were they getting HOT for ?
The motors got hot b/c I was running modified props. Dasboata X447's. Lots of amp draw. Not really meant for long runs but speed passes.

Thanks so much!👊👊Yeah in a flip, you either have to go swimming or have a rescue system to bring it in. I usually keep a small raft on tap just in case. I'm working on a rescue system design right now to hook to another rc boat. Thanks for watching!😁👊🤘💪

Your boat bounces around too much batts are too far back aswel u should be touching 80 props might be too big transom should be slightly off the ground wen laid on a flat surface aswel
