I agree with your general thoughts about the nood pics, but that’s not where their culture is, especially outside of the big city gay scenes in Japan. While there’s not as much religious bias tied to queer life, Japan is deeply institutionally heteronormative and collectivist.
You guys should watch “ His man season 2” . It’s an Korean TV show , the end couple dating almost about 2 years🥹, so really love each other. Also, the other members in the show, they have a good relationship and they hangout together after the show . You will be enjoy while watching the show !! I can’t wait about your reaction 😄😄. Love it, love it, love it. The only thing I will say in defense of Dai and Shun (but especially Shun) is to keep in mind their age. At the time of filming I believe Dai was 22 and Shun was 23. As they are going through these conversations I try to remember that they are both really young and are actually pretty emotionally mature and articulate for their age, but..... they are still young.

@@starsurvivor I don't know, I feel like most that age probably haven't had a lot of relationship experience, are still in their exploration phase where they are trying to affirm their identity, and are still maturing mentally and emotionally, add it the complications of trauma. I will cut them some slack on not having it all figured out and not being "perfect" in how they respond in these situations.

Re: Yusak - I think some background knowledge is missing from the show.
As far as I'm aware, he's pretty famous/well-known in the Japanese gay scene, like local celebrity.
Seems to be a tale as old as time; shy guy has a glow up or just sudden attention, but people don't actually get to know him, because they perceive him as unapproachable/unobtainable.
He seems like a really introverted and sensitive guy, who just happens to look like that and have that body.
His shyness is actually really endearing to me, and he's very talented and in high demand as we'll see going forwards
This show reminded me a lot of early Real World seasons, particularly the season with Pedro Zamora the HIV+ activist. It was the first time many people saw a gay person on their tv and was great at humanizing our community, despite the ultimate tragic loss of Pedro.
A quickly reminder is that they spent a total of 1 month in that house, so episode 2 is not necessarily day 2, there are many days where we only see 1 scene

just few notes i wanted to mention
about therapists, im not sure if its true or not but i heard they do have therapists available for the candidates in the show
and they filmed for one month and a half, but the number of eps are not a lot so a lot of scenes were cut thats why when one person make a choice you guys get surprised and dont see it coming, for exp Ryota had a crush on Shun and we all were surprised, and he also talked about Shun being cute and funny but they show what they want and the rest is cut so we didnt see that side of Shun that had 2 guys crushing on him, but later on they released few uncut scenes
also get ready for Shun's rollercoaster 😂😂 please be patient with him he need a lot of healing to do ❤❤
about nudes, i get your thoughts exactly, but the thing is in asia people tend to be more conservative etc depending on their cultures

OMG I SAW WAITING FOR THIS. Usak actually has so many tiktoks of him making that chicken smoothie thing, its so gross😭its boiled chicken btw but eating raw chicken in japan is a real thing! I think you guys should keep in the back of your head that shun is a very sensitive person. Some of the things he does will make sense to him bc of his past and everything. It was revealed that netflix basically cut out most of the clips where shun was happy and stuff so it does kind of paint him in a bad light

Loving the reactions ! I keep seeing everyone recommending His Man S2 but I'm gonna also recommend S1. It might be a bit slower in comparison to the other seasons (or so I've heard) but I actually liked it and the cast.

Kazuto...the way we see things and the way Japanese ppl see this type of issues is very different. Theres a cultural difference way to big, in general south east Asians still have a strong belief that what your parents what u to be is extremely important so for Kazuto and many others feeling disappointed and wanting to pay back his parents in a way is very real and a common thing to do there.

Nude photos may not be a problem for you but for Japan it is a conservative country, even in my country it is a big thing.. it depends on the culture of the country.. for me i wont date people who their naked photos everywhere 😂😂😂😂.. As for the psychological treatment everyone got psychological treatment and therapy during and after the show because each one of them had issue and some trauma according to the producer ...

Oh, Dai was most definitly a player. We saw the attitude on day two, when he was already talking about wanting to sleep with Shun that night, and the way he spoke with his friends about him, saying "I'll get him", treating him like a "trophy" almost. And he even said it himself in the live reunion show, when he talked about how he, due to some bad dating experiences, deliberately chose a f-boy lifestyle so he knew he wouldn't get hurt. But when meeting Shun he decided that he was willing to take the chance, even if he would get hurt by him - he had to, because all he could see was Shun. He said that for the first time in years, he felt like someone was worth the risk of pain. So Dai WAS a playboy - luckily they got a chance to heal each other 💖
