I have a question, I replaced my alternator on W164 OM642 ML320 two times due to it not charging, I receive an error Control Module N3/9 common rail diesel injection control module receives no LIN message from G2 generator ... my LIN wire to the alternator plug has only a single pin in it, how can I test to see if the LIN line from the alternator to the cdi injection control module is working? Also do you have any other possible reason the new alternators do not charge the battery? I checked the connections and fuses near the battery and all are good. No other codes are showing. Please help.
Hi, I have an issue with the lin bus wire from the ecu to the alternator. The lin bus is only receiving 8.5 volts, would this be enough to activate the alternator? Also what could cause lower voltage other than bad wiring or a faulty ecu? Thank you
