I wasted a lot of time and effort to no avail, although I assured all my friends that the fault and problem is usually not with the student, and that the right time will come to get to know the golden teacher, and when that happens the problems will disappear, and the learning process will turn from suffering and difficulties to pleasure and enjoyment. Here in the Middle East we say we have found a treasure when we meet a real teacher. With you, the impossible has become something that can be turned into a tangible reality. Thank you and all the love that befits you, oh genius.

I'd like to see somebody rig a horse with humanIK. That sounds dumb, but autodesk's documentation says it's possible if you place the horse in a t-pose. They should provide pictures😭. By the way the method explained in this video also works for rigged models downloaded from Mixamo, except maybe for a differing character definition file Thanks for the great tutorials, Monica.
i get an error when tryign to import my model to maya, it says the : The FBX plug-in has detected Non-uniform scaling values. The following nodes (or their parents,) have non-standard Maya scaling inheritance (RSrs). The plug-in will re-compute their local transforms to match their correct global transforms and re-plot the transform animation frame by frame. These nodes might have interactive behavior in Maya that differs from the source application.
god this is so much easier than it used to be in the old days, where you'd have to manually place all the joints, manually paint the skin weights, set up all the curves and link them up to stuff, etc. What a breeze. I can't believe this tool is free. I'd definitely recommend people still learn how to make a basic human rig tho, it will help you effectively place the joints in this software
Your Channel really helped me get rid of the 'fear of rigging' , apperantly when the teacher is good , it actually is quite easy to understand ! ♥ Any tips on how to export this once I'm done ? The export result I get is - separated skeleton that is slightly back , some parts are also not parented IDK why .. would appreciate an export tutorial so I can take it to mixamo or something :D
Nice tutorial ❤ but is there a way to return to the original A Pose? I'm trying to add more bones and bind them but somehow the mesh "memory" is the A Pose and not the new T Pose. So if I add influence to a new bone the mesh would try to go to the original A Pose. 😢

Thanks good tutorial. One thing I noticed if you don't hide your joints and start moving the "Character1_Ctrl_Reference", the "RL_BoneRoot" will stick to the scene origin. I used a parent constraint to parent the BoneRoot to the ctrl_reference which seems to work, but wasn't sure if this would cause problems down the road.

Hello! Of course, this is very convenient. I pressed a few buttons and got a rig. Just what to do with blendshapes. I got vertix renumbering after AccuRig. And therefore I can’t use blendshapes
Yes, that's one problem with this rig. You can right click on the controllers and tell it to go back to 0. Sadly, you cannot type 0, which is a big flaw.
hey, I have a doubt when im adding blend shapes in this rigged character from actor core, Im not able to use the blend shapes properly. Do you know any fixes for that?
Hi, this is a great video and the process worked perfectly fine for me, though, how should I go about doing this to multiple characters in a scene without unlocking the character definition and deleting the control rig for other characters?
Good question. You can either assign the texture again (Right click on model, assign existing material). Or recreate and connect the files to the shader. :) I hope that helps!
Help~~ everything went smooth except at IK sticky hands.. what could i have done wrong? I am trying this out in Maya 2025.. is it a Maya 2025 problem? I also get an error.. "The FBX plug-in has detected Non-uniform scaling values. The following nodes (or their parents,) have non-standard Maya scaling inheritance (RSrs). The plug-in will re-compute their local transforms to match their correct global transforms and re-plot the transform animation frame by frame." could this cause the IK to not respond?
Hi, very helpful tutorial , thank you for this!!, is there a way I can export the rigged character to any other 3d software w the control rigs and the joints?
have several problems with this rig. Translate xyz are not 0 so that when I move the wrist and want it back at the tpose position, putting everything at 0 does not work. When I try to use this rig as a reference, the controllers are badly visible, not always on top of everything.
Yes, I agree, that part is not great. You can right click on the rig, and it will go to the Tpose. I'm going to be trying other autoriggers looking for something better :)
Hello Monika, I saw some blender tutorials that allows them to import even textures to accurig and import back in blender with textures.. Is it possible here as well?
Damn, excellent video! Considering I don't wanna get in any animation industry (dont live in NA or Europe), would you say that Blender is as good as Maya for animation?
Hello this is a fantastic tutorial . but i am stuck at 8 min 35 sec . for some reason i cant rotate the controler they seem lock somehow. Do you have any idea how to fix this? Thank you verry much for your time! (funny thing if i select the bone itself it does rotate)
Hi! Not sure if anyone else is having this same issue but.. when I create the control rig after finish assigning all the joints, for some odd reason the size of my controls are extremely tiny. Is there a way for me to set the size so I don't go through the stress of having to resize this? Thanks!
Good video. But I had a quick question. Besides having more options, if you are using maya, why not just use the quick rig feature that is built into maya. It does the same thing.
For some reason it works while in accuRig, but once in Maya none of the controls transfer over after importing, I end up with just the root, any chance you know how to fix that?
You mention that it could be 'better' and we could make it manually in Maya. But, do you not think you could fix up the accuRig with a bit of weight painting? What makes it worse than any other rig? :)
Oops! Forgot to post it. here it is: actorcore.reallusion.com/learn-and-support/my-software/maya/step-by-step-guide/your-own-character I also added to the description. Thank you for pointing it out!
One thing I cannot for the life of me understand is that when you're moving a joint in the joint placement process, the joint just moves arbitrarily wherever it feels like on the Z axis relative to your camera. Every other 3d software would have it move only on the plane of your camera angle. This is insane to me. EDIT- turn off the MIDPOINT PLACEMENT toggle if you want to avoid what I just described above and move joints only on the axis of your camera
Hey, so I essentially made the textures in Substance then imported them into Maya. However, after rigging using accuRig and then bringing em back to Maya they disappear.. Is there something i'm missing? Have been following your Kora series to texture etc
