    Hi would you please explain for me about the engine and how modifications on engine has been done
    What kind of carburator and ignition has been set on yellow ser 2landy?

    • @cardriven9578
      @cardriven9578  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's mostly the stock engine (2 1/4 petrol). Fitted with an SU carb and the stock air cleaner but with a paper element inside. This gives a little more top end power. I use the stock distributor but fitted with electronic ignition. Static timing around 15 BTDC. Centrifugal advance is limited so that total advance is not exeeded. This helps a lot in low down torque.

    Hello
    Beautiful series land rover. Can you tell me more about your axle conversion or possibly a website link to your build.
    What series G wagen axle did you use? Did you have to change gear ratios?
    Are you still using the land rover transfer box, transmission and engine ?
    did you have to narrow the Gwagen axles .
    Look forward to your reply.

      Hello, thank you. I used W463 axles with 5.29 gears. I did not narrow the axles. They are stock axles except for the disc brakes on the rear axle and you have to make them fit to the leaf springs of the Land Rover. On the road it drives as stock with these tires and gears. Engine and gearbox are stock. I'm using a series 1 transferbox, this gives a total crawl ratio of 55. It's a strong car off road: fairly lightweight, big ground clearance, good articulation, lockers, low centre of gravity. More info on the Land Rover on: www.cardriven.nl. If you have more questions e mail me.

      @@cardriven9578 Good looking car, and very interesting axle conversion. I noticed that you are using non standard leaf springs... Which car are these from ?

      @@blacksilverstonem03 Front springs are Toyota Hilux front springs. Rear springs are Mercedes T1 208D front springs.

    Are these spring over or different axles? Thinking to do spring overs for me series 3 but not seeing any examples online

    • @cardriven9578
      @cardriven9578  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both. Just putting the springs on top of the axle makes the Land Rover much to high (my opinion). It needs much more modifications to correct this.

      @@cardriven9578 perhaps wheel spacers? Or what would you recommend also if you don’t mind saying, what is your axle setup?

    • @cardriven9578
      @cardriven9578  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tevaughnalleyne Of course wheel spacers do help. I don't use them or fenderflares to keep the stock series look. Axles are Mercedes G-class front and rear. Springs are longer than stock from a van and pickup.

      Also think carefully about your steering setup and your propshaft angles when lifting your series Land Rover

      @cardriven9578  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Stephan, the stock axles are too weak and expensive to upgrade. I used Mercedes G class axles front and rear.
