gosh. I have been learning to play (from scratch) for the past 5 years and I am JUST NOW learning this (1-3-5-8), thanks to you! What a difference this makes simply knowing this. On another topic, I have great difficulty keeping a rhythm with my left hand and then fitting the notes in with the right (in everything I play). eta: I came back to watch your LH fingering and see that you always use fingers 1, 3, 4, and 5 including B7 or other 7 chords. I was using different fingering in my attempt to try and learn the LH but will now change and try to do this fingering. It may take a couple months before I can bring both hands together, but I supposed that's the only way for me to eventually play something like this. Thank you for demonstrating this.
First of all, thank you, THANK YOU for your channel. You guys are a blessing to the world, sharing so much knowledge, wisdom and happiness. I've discovered your channel about a month ago, and you have already changed my life. I became a real fan. Now, about the piece, I noticed that you suggest the 5-3-2-1 fingering for the chord. Would it be okay to play using a 5-4-2-1 fingering? It feels a bit more comfortable to me...
Hi! Great video! In measure 14 isn’t the chord really F#7 in 1st inversion? (V/V) The Bb would be the 3rd of F#7. C7 in the key of C usually means F major is coming but that doesn’t happen. F#7 in context with Em and B7 sounds more like it. When I heard that measure it was reminiscent of more sophisticated classical pieces where V/V is applied. Adolphe Adam was a pianist and may have acquired that part from something that he played before.
This is a nice arrangement, thank you! I’m really enjoying learning this. I’m guessing the original is typically in the key of Bb? One thing I’m doing differently is trying to gently rearticulate the C in measure 38 and similarly the E in measure 46 instead of the tie because I guess I like to hear that top pitch just hang there a little before the descend and on my piano it doesn’t ring out enough if I leave my finger down. I’m glad you posted this. My friends just assumed I could play Christmas music for them, even though I’m far from expert, and I had nothing prepared but now I feel I got at least one nice piece close to polished, this is great!
Excellent video, very informative! I had no clue what was meant by 1358 or the 1357 (B7) chord pattern. And I never knew what the F/C or Em/B, etc. meant. Now I know. I am in my level 2 books, but there has never been an explanation of these items. Question: How can I type a flat sign using my computer? Using a small “b” doesn’t cut it. Of course, sharps are no problem, “#”.
I am curious - while playing the left hand, I figured you'd be lifting your fingers through the notes, but it seems you only were lifting when starting the next set of 1/8 notes - like on the first measure, C, E, G I thought you'd play in a legato style, but instead it appeared in the video once you pressed the C, you held it for the entire time until you hit the C at the next octave, so instead of a bit of overlap it was continuous (kind of like playing longer than eights if that makes sense - like the first C was really a dotted 1/4, the E a 1/4 and the G an 1/8 then starting over with the C at the next octave now going down) Was that intentional to create a flow kind of into the chord? (keep in mind, I'm a beginner so there are many nuances and techniques I have yet to learn / understand :)
Useful to see and apreciate something complex as this. Thank you for explaining it, bless you🙂👏.
The best tutorial for this song, may the Lord Jesus Christ bless you. Subscribed.
You are such a good teacher! Fabulous👌
Thanks!
Love the outtakes at the end.... Thanks for all your hard work and the effort in putting your videos together.

Thanks, Allsia can't wait to have ago at this - There's a lovely scene in the film "Home Alone" that uses this.
Awesome!
So cool! Thanks
fastastic great work, i follow you from mexico
Where do I find this version? Thank you for your great tutorials I am an old lady trying to learn
I thought the title meant 1,358 chords in the song lol😂✨
I thought it was from the year 1358
Yeah usually you use hyphens in between the numbers for chord progressions
I thought that it might have 1358 chords too.
Can you do a tutorial for the first impromptu by Chopin please
You should do a piano tutorial or analysis of Volodos’ version of Rondo Alla Turca

Are you covering another Christmas song this year? :)
